This used to be our favorite pizza place. We would gladly drive 30 minutes because we thought it was worth it. Unfortunately, after our experience with Alex, we will never be back. We purchased a pizza to go, and my wife and I found some shade outside to eat a slice. A few minutes later, I went back inside to use the restroom. While I was waiting in front of the locked bathroom door, Alex came around the corner and rudely told me I needed to buy something before I could use the restroom. I explained that I had just purchased a pizza, but he said he didn't remember me and told me to leave. I went back to my vehicle, got my receipt, and showed him proof that I had just made a purchase. Only then was I allowed to use the restroom. Afterward, I calmly told him that he really didn't need to be so rude. At that point, he started dropping F-bombs, waving his hands, and yelling at me to never come back. I have never experienced such unprofessional and hostile behavior from an employee, especially over something as simple as using the restroom after purchasing food. It's incredibly disappointing because we genuinely loved this place, but no customer should be treated this way. read more

EDIT 2: The folks upfront are great and there's not a lot of space to hang out, but there are some chairs and I recommend you get there early One day to pick up your order so you get a chance to chat with other fans of Rosati's. I forgot to ask for the anchovies again but the deep dish is superb with extra cheese and pepperoni. I am from the Southside of Chicago and I know Chicago pizza. Deep Dish is not the main pizza in Chicago. Tavern style aka thin crust is where it is at, and unfortunately, Rosati's does not cut it. Taste was 3.5 though it could use a bit more salt and oregano. Are the veggies frozen (sausage deluxe) when you place on a pizza? Having worked in a pizza joint, frozen vegetables can introduce excess moisture and make your pizza soggy if you put them straight on. Thaw and drain first then pat dry with paper towels. Best option is give the veggies a quick sauté or roast before they hit the pizza. Trust me this will elevate your pizza game. Maybe step up the temp on oven too, put CRUNCH in that thin crust. I will give one more shot and order the regular sausage no veggies...but WELL DONE. read more

We needed to find a place to cater pizza, pasta, and salad for a last-minute soccer team party at a local hotel. I called up and helped immediately by a very friendly employee. Within 90 minutes I had catering for 30 people. The food was absolutely delicious and a great value for what we received. As a Chicago native I have to try all the Chicago restaurants. There are so few. I've been wanting to try this for a long time but it's 30 minutes away and not on my route to anywhere. I ordered by phone and was told it would be 30 minutes. I arrived in 35 minutes and it was waiting for me in the warmer. A little pricey but definitely worth it. You feel the weight of the box and you know there is plenty of cheese and toppings. I ordered sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. The crust was crispy and the flavor was excellent. I ordered delivery today. We got the stuffed pizza with extra cheese, sausage and mushroom and, what I thought was cheesy bread. The pizza was dense, decadent, and deliciously cheesy. Definitely knife-and-fork-on-a-dinner-plate meal. Maybe better suited to eating at a table instead of "pizza-on-the-bed" with paper plates and a towel as a napkin. Very delicious and filling. A 10" pie is more than enough for 2 people and will give you leftovers for work later! 10 out of 10! Will definitely do this again! Now. About the other item...yeah. About that...after much deliberation and thought...I am going to describe it as: Garlic accented with a hint of cheesy bread. Although I'm not sure this really captures the balance of flavor here. Perhaps "accented with a hint" is too forceful? Either way, not making that mistake again. Probably a good thing we live in Tampa and not Transylvania. Ok. Off for a food-coma. We order here pretty frequently on Uber eats because the pizza is not bad. They have good Chicago deep dish, they're thin crust is pretty good as well. Unfortunately it's hit or miss. I ordered a salad for the first time there today, and about a quarter of the salad was wilted so I had to pick through everything and get rid of the bad spinach to eat the rest. The balsamic is so pungent with vinegar that it's hard to eat. Overall, That was super disappointing considering it's a $14 salad. If you're ordering, stick to pizza. read more

If you're looking for a pie as close to those great Chicago establishments we know this is the spot. We came here for outle favorite thin crust tavern style and man were we pleased. I truly have to say it's pretty darn close to those we have had in Chi town like Vitto & Nicks.. We got sausage on our pie and you could tell it was ground sausage not sliced which is the best way in my opinion. The crust had that perfect cracker crunch when but into.. The sauce was perfect not too sweet or overly acidic. Our only wish was that they had and interior to sit and enjoy your pizza while it's fresh out of the oven. I stopped in here to try their pizza one Friday night. I placed an order to go with a friendly cashier. While I waited, there were plenty of customers stopping in to pick up orders and place orders. I was really surprised at how much traffic I experienced while waiting. I thought to myself, wow Rosati's must make one heck of a pizza! I got my cheese with half jalapenos home only to find out the jalapenos were not fresh as the cashier indicated but pickled. It gave my pizza a sour flavor and caused me to pick out quite a few just to finish my pie. The pizza crust was nice and thin and cut into squares. The toppings were sufficient, as they didn't skimp on the cheese or jalapenos. And the sauce wasn't overly sweet or acidic. I didn't have a bad experience here, I just didn't have an amazing one either. I should also mention if you are paying with a card, there's a 3.99% surcharge. read more

When we lived in Libertyville, Illinois, in 1981-82, we got a delicious pizza every Friday from Rosati's, which was less than 5 miles from our home. In 1984, we found ourselves in Palm Harbor - and found Rosati's again, one mile from our home. They were the same family we left behind! Again we enjoyed their delicious pizzas - until they closed & moved. We found them in Sarasota around 2012, the same family business. Whenever my husband worked in Sarasota, he brought home their fantastic pizza. Now, in 2021, they are in Oldsmar, and we love their pizzas! Last night (9/14/21), we got their thin crust sausage pizza (our favorite) and decided to try their spinach calzone. Neither disappointed. They were both excellent. (45 min wait) No inside seating so keep that in mind however even after driving 30 minutes home from this location (I live in Tampa) the pizza was still hot. This was my first time trying Chicago deep dish pizza and this was amazing! 2 slices and I was beyond stuffed, the crust was crispy, flaky and buttery! The sauce was perfect not super acidic and a slight sweetness. The one pie was $30 after adding pepperoni but it was enough to feed 3 people and have leftovers for later! I showed up after 35 min and it had just come out of the oven. Took 20 minutes to get home and the temperature was perfect to eat. I really liked the pizza. The crust has a slight oiter cripsy texture yet soft internally. It has a really nice texture and tastes great. The cheese seems to be high quality strechy typical chicago deep dish cheese. We have been ordering at the Oldsmar location for years. A progressive downhill course has occurred over the years. The quality of the pizza has cratered. On today's pizza the thin crust was reduced to a burnt cracker thin quality throughout that broke while trying to hold and eat a piece of pizza. This created a disjointed mess. Because the crust is so thin the cooking time is reduced to prevent it from completely charing. The toppings (chicken, peppers, mushrooms and onions) were ALL under cooked. The meat portions have been reduced to about 1/10 of their previous size. The melted cheese made the pizza into a gooey glob. It was impossible to hold without the thin burnt cracker crust breaking in my hand. This was the absolute worst pizza we have ever had. It makes chain pizza look good---unbelievable. The pizza delivery was bad, but the manager said he would add credit to the account for next time. Calling today, there was no such credit. They said they'd give up to $20, but we paid $40+. Was at a friend's house in Land O Lakes and the topic of pizza came up as we were debating where to place an order from. He insisted that this was "the place" to get amazing Chicago-style pizza. My first thought was that I'm really not a fan of deep-dish, at which point he corrected me and said that Chicago style is actually thin crust, round, and cut into squares. This friend spent like 15 minutes talking about how amazing it was and then had the nerve to say that it was too far away to order from. I insisted that we order from here after all that talk. I very respectfully expressed my concern and provided my address. The speaker said "my driver is 5-8 min out" and before I could say thank you I was hung up on. The driver arrived with my crushed pizza and brown salad. He was polite. I will no longer be paying outrageous fucking prices for garbage food and customer service. This place has become an absolute joke. If I could give zero stars I would. I am from Chicago, the south side so I know good pizza. We have been Tampa for nearly 25 years and since Giordanos left N Dale Mabry, pizza is very hard to come by. Fast forward to a few years ago, we found Rosati's and it was ok, it wasn't real Chicago pizza but it was decent. We ordered it last month and immediately noticed a difference. The thin crust pizza, which is what we always order, was very greasy and the dough was very very thin. The fast was also gone as the recipe it has been tampered with. Well we ordered it again today, and the review is the same. The thin crust is super super thin, the pizza is greasy, it wasn't cooked as we ordered it and the sauce was all on the top like it was added last, not traditionally how Chicago thin crust pizza is made. It looked so bad and tasted even worse. This was our go to pizza for a few years but they can literally kick rocks. I'm not sure why the owner sold it but its now disgusting pizza. And the cost for it is ridiculous. My husband talked to the owner that says Italian sausage has gone up which is why the pizza has gone up, yet Giordanos in Orlando's prices remain consistent. I was going through some old reviews and decided this one needed to be updated. I was new to the stuffed pizza realm when I made the first review and just had no idea what I was dealing with. Rosati's delivers a phenomenal stuffed or deep dish pizza. I prefer mine with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms, so my pies tend to be a little pricey. But they are definitely worth it. We had a coupon for a free small cheese thin crust pizza with a $20 purchase so we decided to try Rosati's Chicago-style Deep Dish Pizza. Ordering online was easy, but the problem we had was at the restaurant when we went to pick up our pizzas. Per the confirmation screen, we arrived about an hour after ordering, and hubs was told our pizzas had another 12 minutes in the oven. But then when he went back in, he was only given one pizza. And the price was different. So I was beckoned inside since I'd placed the order in his name. As it turned out, a "Harold" had ordered ONE pizza after us, & every employee (at least 3 that I saw, including the manager) had misheard Howard say his name. So our pizzas were 15+ minutes old, before our 25 minute drive back home. So, at this point, our expectations were very low. We'd ordered before 4pm on a Saturday & didn't expect a wait. But we had already planned to warm up our pies in our oven, knowing Rosati's was 20-25 minutes away. So after our terrible pick-up experience, we were really hoping the deep dish crust hadn't become too soggy while sitting in the restaurant. Starving, I had two Chicago-sliced squares of the cheese pizza before putting it, and the deep dish, into our home oven at 170°. Although I was REALLY hungry, I thought the cheese pizza was great. And after having a slice of the deep dish, I realized how delicious both pizzas were. Surprisingly not soggy at all! When I started this review, on our way home, I felt that 3 stars would be optimistic. However, that deep dish pizza was so good that I had to add back a star. Whoever says this place is fixed is wrong. A large sausage and mushroom pizza should be 24-28 bucks. Not 36 bucks plus tax. They still cook with a timer. Use your eyes people. The staff here today could care less. The only reason I came here today is all my other choices were closed because it's Monday. We have other choices for Chicago pizza in this area. Until rosati's figures it out with price/quality and friendliness. I recommend you use the other pizza places. We used to be get pizzas here at least once a week for the last few years.
