    Half cheese, half anchovy...

Great sports bar atmosphere, four TVs the other place is pretty loud... They serve a very crispy pizza, with a good amount of cheese and sauce, enjoyable, but not memorable ...

If you're grabbing a quick slice or takeout, use the entrance closest to Hillsborough. For a full sit‑down meal, head to the adjoining dining area. The pizzas are baked fresh and the menu offers plenty of variety, but the New York-style execution misses the mark if you're familiar with true NYC pizza. I ordered a large cheese and garlic knots to go; the pizza was just okay, and the garlic knots were greasier than I prefer.

I always get excited when there's a chance that a local pizza place takes me back to my pizza roots in NJ & NY. Zerillo's is a nice looking restaurant. The waitress we had today gave great service & was very personable. We each ordered their lunch special of a couple slices of pepperoni pizza & a drink for $8. The pizza arrived piping hot. The pizza folded just like NYC pizza should. The crust looked perfect. To me, getting the crust right is the hard part. So Zerillos nailed that. Unfortunately the other ingredients fell totally flat. The pizza sauce was flavorless. Not once could I even tell it was there. The cheese was super flat & tasteless as well. Finally, the pepperoni was ALSO lacking flavor. I am really not sure how this is all possible. Like I said, the hardest part is getting the dough right. And Zerillos did an amazing job there. But the rest of the ingredients were super dull & super flavorless. This is all fixable with better ingredients, but for now the amazing dough & crust are like an empty canvas waiting on better potential.

Well, this review starts off on a negative note. NO, not about Zerillo's, but about ANOTHER Italian place I attempted to go eat at (THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED, that I could tell you is maybe twice the price as here, and that's all I'll say about it) which turned me away, so on my way back home seething a little, I stop here. And my night turned around. This is a cute little spot, that's like a lot of fast casual New York style pizzerias, and VERY good. The interior is bright, welcoming, and overall very clean. The girl at the counter was cheerful and greeted me upon arriving. She told me to expect my food in about twenty minutes (well, it was more like twenty-three, but who's counting, right?) I was definitely in the mood for Italian, but nothing overly fancy, just simple good, comfort food. I went for their baked ziti and had a side salad with it. Since the food's reasonably priced, I added some wings to the order for my partner. I live sort of a long way from Oldsmar, but the food was still fresh and hot, and the salad crisp, when I got back. I REALLY loved the ziti! There was a good ratio of ricotta, mozzarella, and actual tomato in it (not heavy marinara with little cheese like I sometimes get with ziti). I had a nice creamy texture to it and the pasta was perfectly cooked. It's a huge portion, so I divvied it with my partner, and had the side salad which was just the right size, all fresh and crisp. The food really hit the spot, and maybe it was a good thing I took a detour from that OTHER place (THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED). Thank you, Zerillo's for your hospitality and good food.

Cute little pizza place in an almost deserted strip mall in Oldsmar. The guy at the register was extremely nice and friendly. I ended up going with their lunch special (which I loved was still available on weekends). I got one slice of cheese pizza, and the side caesar salad with balsamic dressing instead of caesar dressing, plus a fountain soda. I sat at one of the three booths available, and had my salad quickly in front of me. The pizza was warmed up, then brought out to my table. Both were really good. The salad tasted fresh, and the cheese pizza had a great flavor. I'm never in this area, but if I were, this would be on my pizza pie rotation.

3 booths & a small seating bar, but hear they're expanding!

The pizza was really good, I would give it a 4.5 but I also ordered meatballs. The meatballs were very mushy and not a lot of flavor.

Our serve Taylor was AMAZING! She was very attentive, polite, and personable. We loved her! Moving on to the food. We ordered the "Daily Bread" as a starter and let me tell you...best table bread I've ever had ever. We also got the ricotta honey spread and it was delicious!! For our entrees we all got pasta. Chicken fettuccine, cacio e pepe, and cream tomato vodka. All meals were 10/10 good. Everything was so amazing and fresh. We were here celebrating a friends birthday and Taylor surprised her with a delicious slice of cake. I believe it was a lemon blueberry vanilla cake. It was soooo good. Overall, I highly enjoyed my experience and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for some good Italian. Especially the pasta.

It has tomato, house-made mozzarella, and really yummy basil. To drink I had a Seasonal Spritz which I believe had apricots and amaretto, this is a nice fresh drink with great flavor. My son opted for the the Maria pizza with tomato, mozzarella, meatballs,Italian sausage, soppressata, Ezzo and pepperoni. Most importantly he got what his heart desired a Hawaiian pizza, his favorite! MAKE A RESERVATION....You will need it…read more Piccola is a very small place. A few tables. And you need the reservation to get in as people do go all the time. The chef is the owner and even takes the order. The assistant cleans, and serves and handles the rest. Like stepping into an Italian family kitchen to see what is on the table for the night. And with the special menu of the evening, it is like you are stepping into the kitchen. With a reservation for 6 we were lucky to have the table. It is a BYOB so bring what you might want to go with the meals. A red wine is a good idea. As for the specials, it was varied. There are many options to have that are not on the menu. Even that is small. The chef does tell you what was the specials. He answers the questions and does describe what he is thinking. For 6 of us this gave us good options. Several were ordered, and some traditional was selected. We started with appetizers. Tomatoes and mozzarella was always a way to start. Classic. Mixed with a green salad and some extra cheese it is a good way to go. Garlic bread was a complement. We also had the rice balls stuffed with a small meatball combo. This is typical in certain regions of Italy, and each are different. It had a special sauce to top it and more bread. The sauce was good enough as a dipping sauce for the bread without the rice ball. As we ate the apps we drank the wines. Truly typical for an Italian meal. When the entrees came out it was time to shift things around. These entrees were a good size and freshly cooked. You can see the chef in the kitchen cooking each meal. This is a home kitchen. We had a few specials. One was the duck on the couscous. With the frech sauce and herbs it was amazing. It is not how you expect to have duck. It was definitely not Chinese. This was a fresh duck cooked and aged so that the flavor was ideal. The portion was large and the aroma amazing. Also had to have a very traditional pasta carbonara - pasta mixed in a garlic cream sauce with onions and pieces of bacon. A bit of peper and grated cheese helps. It is an old simple idea what what is always made in a family. There was also pasta bolognese, and even a pasta with sliced rib steak in a mushroom cream sauce. Very different. Once the meal was finished had to have espresso and dessert. The espresso was made the old way in a pot I still have on a the shelf and use. As for the dessert, we did have a lemon cake and a cake made with pistachio that was ground and had flavor that was not expected as a cream in a cake. It was exceptional. As the waitress mentioned, these cakes come from a bakery in Italy and are delivered. The taste and sweetness are typical of Italy and not of the US. Very Italian. The food is great. It is fresh, tasty, has a flavor and style that is unique to the chef. He can make a great meal that you will enjoy. It is typical but with a twist. The portions are a good size. The price is perfect. Bring your own wine and step inside. It is like being in someone;s kitchen. And make that reservation!

Stopped in tonight by myself, after not having been there for several months. Decided to dine-in and enjoy the food fresh and hot. I was quickly reminded why I don't come more often: $32 for one person. That didn't even include tip. That was a simple order of the Vodka pasta (NO meat), a side of bread, and a can of Coke. THIRTY. TWO. DOLLARS. I honestly wouldn't mind it so much if I could at least get two meals out of it. I frequent Olivia (downtown) every 1-2 weeks, and am able to get two full meals out of an order of pasta and garlic bread. And that's a fancy restaurant. While this place is cute and has good service, it's essentially fast-food pasta. Having said that.... The restaurant itself is very clean and bright. You order at the front, are given a buzzer, and go find a table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options. Indoor is fairly small, but they make it work! It's not meant to sit and talk for hours. Once your food is ready they deliver it to your table, along with a glass bottle of tap water for the table. It can get kind of noisy depending on business. I've always had great service - they're always on top of things and walking around in case you need something. Since I was dining alone tonight I opted to sit at the counter, which I love the concept of!! The food itself is delicious. The vodka pasta is really good (spicy)! Their daily bread is fabulous, nice and thick and soft - perfectly dippable, which is great since it comes with EVOO with herbs. A couple times when ordering carryout the pasta seemed a bit dry, so I made sure to ask for extra sauce. It was perfect that way! The pasta itself you can tell is fresh; perfect amount of chewiness and texture. Next time I'll probably try the vodka pasta with the breaded chicken - watching them cook, it looks delicious!! I was told it's probably the most frequently ordered item on the menu. All in all, I highly recommend giving them a try. Just be prepared to pay a high price. I'm going with an overall 3-stars based on price for the portion size. If that changes in the future I'll happily edit my review. One final note: parking can be a bitch here, and at least one of the neighboring lots has tow-warnings so heads up!
