My room was beautiful and clean and had everything I needed and the staff was always friendly and helpful. They don't have a plug convertor to borrow but you could purchase one from them. The restaurant and bar downstairs was so convenient and the food was delicious! The morning breakfast buffet was worth it, although a hot latte seemed to always take them a while. There is seating outside and the view from here is magnificent. There is also a cute bar lounge that is separate from the building down the stairs behind the restaurant. Excellent spot to sit with friends while sipping a drink or two on comfortable seating late at night. The hotel's location was also very convenient. It was not very difficult to request a taxi (or use the Uber equivalent called Freeride app) and it was just a nice swift 20 minute walk down the hill to the city center. I recommend a visit to the English Market - lots of fantastic food and drinks to try! If you like shopping there are also a lot of shops to check out, including bookstores and souvenir shops.

It was delicious and had so many options. The server was super nice and there were assorted "help yourself" items in a buffet as well as a decent menu with Irish breakfast and other full entree items.

Once settled her restaurant, pub and sightseeing tips were first rate. Bed was very comfortable and house was quiet (although we were travelling during the off season). Having your own bathroom and shower is great as well. The breakfasts were top notch and ample, a light lunch at most was needed between breakfast and dinner. Central location also makes it attractive to those who like their amenities close by. Should we ever get back to Cork we would return here to stay.

Upon arriving, Olive was warm, welcoming, and took care of us with a pot of tea and chocolates and a friendly disposition that made us feel as if we were her old friends just popping by for a visit rather than strangers meeting for the first time. She had plenty of stories to share and wisdom on where to go and what to see while in Cork (and the appropriate maps to guide us in the right direction). Our room was cozy with a reasonably sized bathroom (by Irish standards) and a sweeping view over the city. The breakfast was prompt and piping hot - my husband raved about the black and white pudding, while I stuck to scrambled eggs, beans, and toast. Plus, the B&B is located a comfortable walking distance from the bus terminal and train station. I'd recommend Auburn House to any out of town visitors looking for the full B&B experience.

Good for visiting Cork, Kinsale and Fota Wildlife Park. The hotel was very busy for mid week and as the restaurant only opens at weekends the bar was busy for food every night. The bar is big, modern and very comforable and the bar food was great. Breakfast is excellent and is served in the restaurant which would have been nice to eat in at night. The staff in the hotel in the bar, reception and leisure centre were all very friendly and helpful. The downside to the hotel which makes it more of a 3 star is that the rooms are not contemporary like the website. They look about 20 yrs old. Drab furniture, old tv, small bathroom and stains on carpet. No water bottle in rooms or shower caps in bathroom!! Not 4 star treatment. The leisure centre was also a let down. Changing rooms need retiled as not very clean. No shower gel/shampoo facilities or bags/drying machine for wet swimwear. Again, despite being midweek ending October the pool was packed all 3 days with locals. Would not like to be there in the summer!! I was there years ago myself on a regular basis and there again recently with a family member. Not alone do they supply the boxes but they also fit them and the service is always done with a smile, not to mention with efficiency.
