The service was great and we loved the room set up. It separated the bathrooms and the children's room nicely! The views of the city are some of the best in the area and it's a pretty easy walk down hill to most things as we'll probably end up taking a taxi back most times. The front desk was running a little bit behind on check-in but made up with it by comping a few drinks. The drinks were well worth the wait in The GlassHouse with a menu like non-other! If you get a chance, go ask Jake at the main bar afterwards for The Holy Trinity of beers then finish with a Beaverton Neck Oil for a good IPA! Totally recommended and we just got here!

When we went to our new room we were given toothbrushes. The phone was inoperative in the room so we could not communicate with the front desk. They tried to do what they could and they were willing to comp the first night (although they initially felt a 30% discount was fair). On the good side there's a lovely veranda for drinks that overlooks north Cork. The breakfastwas excellent and the servers and front desk staff are great.

The room for 4 was quite small but it did the job. The building as a whole is more impressive than the room we had. What really pushed it from a 3 to a 4 was the included breakfast. It was delicious and had so many options. The server was super nice and there were assorted "help yourself" items in a buffet as well as a decent menu with Irish breakfast and other full entree items.

Once settled her restaurant, pub and sightseeing tips were first rate. Bed was very comfortable and house was quiet (although we were travelling during the off season). Having your own bathroom and shower is great as well. The breakfasts were top notch and ample, a light lunch at most was needed between breakfast and dinner. Central location also makes it attractive to those who like their amenities close by. Should we ever get back to Cork we would return here to stay.

Upon arriving, Olive was warm, welcoming, and took care of us with a pot of tea and chocolates and a friendly disposition that made us feel as if we were her old friends just popping by for a visit rather than strangers meeting for the first time. She had plenty of stories to share and wisdom on where to go and what to see while in Cork (and the appropriate maps to guide us in the right direction). Our room was cozy with a reasonably sized bathroom (by Irish standards) and a sweeping view over the city. The breakfast was prompt and piping hot - my husband raved about the black and white pudding, while I stuck to scrambled eggs, beans, and toast. Plus, the B&B is located a comfortable walking distance from the bus terminal and train station. I'd recommend Auburn House to any out of town visitors looking for the full B&B experience.

Good for visiting Cork, Kinsale and Fota Wildlife Park. The hotel was very busy for mid week and as the restaurant only opens at weekends the bar was busy for food every night. The bar is big, modern and very comforable and the bar food was great. Breakfast is excellent and is served in the restaurant which would have been nice to eat in at night. The staff in the hotel in the bar, reception and leisure centre were all very friendly and helpful. The downside to the hotel which makes it more of a 3 star is that the rooms are not contemporary like the website. They look about 20 yrs old. Drab furniture, old tv, small bathroom and stains on carpet. No water bottle in rooms or shower caps in bathroom!! Not 4 star treatment. The leisure centre was also a let down. Changing rooms need retiled as not very clean. No shower gel/shampoo facilities or bags/drying machine for wet swimwear. Again, despite being midweek ending October the pool was packed all 3 days with locals. Would not like to be there in the summer!!
