Sometimes there's tourist destinations that don't quite live up to the hype - The Blarney stone and castle is not one of those! I booked a day pass online and it was around 20 euros. I took the bus from Cork city and it was about a 30 minute ride. Very easy to find your way to the visitor center from the bus stop! The grounds are absolutely stunning with the most quintessentially GREEN Irish grass you've ever seen. The castle is stunning and the hike up to the stone is not for the fainthearted. Seriously, if you are claustrophobic or have mobility issues, this is probably not the attraction for you. But there's still plenty of beauty to see and enjoy without going to the top of the castle and kissing the stone. There's cute little gift shops with postcards, postage, and other trinkets. I'm so glad I took the time to visit Blarney - it was one of the most memorable parts of my trip by far! read more

The famous Blarney Stone! It's quite the feat to get to the stone. You have to go on a challenging journey to find the "precious" stone. Cue in "my precious" from Lord of The Rings. The climb is narrow and steep. Some of the walkways are slim, and not for "bigger" people. I wouldn't recommend this journey for anyone that is plus sized. There's just not enough space. The steps are tiny and you have to put your foot sideways. Worth the journey if you can do the 120 steps! read more

Blarney Stone - Warning - Guest Houses Near Me - Cork, Colorado

I really enjoyed my stay at the Blarney Stone Guest House. It was conveniently located to lots of restaurants, pubs and things to see. The English Market, Fitzgerald's Park and a few other things were a 10 min walk. We really enjoyed Angela. She was a super lovely lady that was helpful with directions as well as booking us dinner reservations. The rooms are very nicely decorated and well kept. This was the most well take care of bed and breakfast we stayed at in Ireland. The breakfast served was very fresh and top notch. Plenty of fruits, brown bread, yogurt, and a hot breakfast. The only complaint was the tiny bathrooms. It was extremely difficult if not impossible to shave your legs. However, great water pressure and perfect for a few nights. I would absolutely stay here again if I were to visit Cork in the future. read more
