    The full Irish breakfast
    Aushianna N.

The food was very delicious, probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The staff was inviting and very nice. Definitely stop in here if you visit Kinsale.

Excellent food and beers. Great little place in Kinsale

Great Restaurant, very clean great menu. I had a delicious toasted chicken BLT with avocado My wife had the linguine with clams and mussels. They were both amazing great selection of Irish beers very friendly, helpful staff.

Loved our stay here! Besides the town bring incredibly charming, this hotel was our lucky charm. Brian, at the front desk was beyond accommodating and friendly and funny. He rode with me to find a safe parking spot. Brian made sure that we were fed breakfast even though we too late for their serving hours. He called several hotels searching for our next stay in Wexford, and was successful. He is definitely an asset to an already adorable hotel. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the three of us enjoyed all of our food. If you ever find yourself in the enchanting town of Kinsale, I highly recommend this clean, quaint and welcoming hotel! Thanks Brian and the other staff for making our stay amazing! - Marta

Awesome selection af Gins and Beer. Great service. Bartender from Poland was super nice and friendly. We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and all of the memorabilia from 911. Did not know they had a connection. Great place and prices were good. Pretty classy place. Thanks for the great service from the guy from Poland.

We were walking around Kinsale when we came by The White House. Another great pub in Ireland. I had the West Cork Rebel, which was similar to a Rueben. It was really good. My wife had the mushroom potato leek soup which she also liked. The staff and locals were friendly, just like everyone we have encountered in Ireland.

On our first night in Kinsale recently, a local recommended we eat at the White House. We're glad we took his advice. From the seafood chowder to the chicken curry and fresh fish, the food was outstanding. So, too, were the wine list and selection of beers from Guinness to local craft brews. Whether for dinner or a relaxing drink, you can't go wrong with the White House.

Came in for lunch and was made welcome by server and was promptly seated. There was a good selection of food to choose from on menu and we opted for the mussels and the fish and chips. The food was excellent and my only suggestions would be that the mussels should be served with a couple of chunks of crusty bread so as to be able to mop up the delicious broth and there could have been a few more chips served with the fish & chips. (One other minor criticism, I was not a great fan of the oblong plate that the fish & chips was served on... prefer a boring, regular round plate to eat my food off). Also, the toilets were spotlessly clean, which is always nice. If in Kinsale, I would definitely recommend this place for a spot of food.

A very clean, friendly, comfortable place to stay! This B&B is close to everything in town, and very reasonably priced. I stayed here during Christmas week and paid €55 including breakfast, which was very generously portioned. BREAKFAST: For breakfast, you had your choice of about 5 items on the menu, some including fresh local fish of the day. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, which was very basic (3 pieces of lox rolled up, scrambled eggs on side) but good. Breakfast included coffee or tea, toast, and you could also help yourself to a table displaying various yogurts, muffins, cereals, granola, juices, etc. ROOM: I stayed in Room 1, which was nicely sized and appointed. *Comfortable bed *Desk *Wardrobe closet *nice size bathroom including towel warmers! *Gilchrist & Soames toiletries *extra blankets in closet (nice for cold winter night) This room has a view of town center, nothing special. The man at check-in had given me a choice of this room, which faced town center and he warned me may be noisy in the mornings with trucks making deliveries, or a "quieter" room which faced nothing. I chose this room just to have a view, and although I did hear some noises outside in the morning, it was nothing too crazy. The bathroom was generously sized and ... towel warmers! YAY! Nice Gilchrist & Soames toiletries (shampoo/conditioner combo and shower gel. no lotion.) Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place and would stay here again. Practically next door to Blue Haven, about 10 doors down from the Post, one street's walk to the Desmond Castle and Int'l Museum of Wine (sadly, only open from Easter to end October). About 10 minutes walk to Fishy Fishy Restaurant and 5 minutes walk to Fishy Fishy Shop/Chippie.

We came to The White House without checking any reviews prior. The food was excellent! My corned beef and cabbage was the best I have ever had. We also enjoyed the Lamb Stew and the west cork rebel. The dessert was excellent as well. Matt our server was very friendly and attentive - 5 star service.

Great breakfast! Right downtown. You don't have to stay at the hotel to eat there. Opens earlier than most places - by 8am.

One of our favorite stops was in Kinsale at The Old Presbytery. It was little nervewracking actually arriving there since it involved driving along Kinsale's RIDICULOUSLY narrow roads (see my photo of the front of their building - that is a two lane road!). But once we arrived we were extremely pleased with this unique and charming B&B. The owners were welcoming and wonderful, providing us with a hand drawn map of the town with recommendations of restaurants to try and things to do. They knew it was our honeymoon, and our bed had rose petals in the shape of a heart (see my photos) when we arrived. The room was large, with a separate sitting area and a small balcony overlooking their parking lot and the town. Our bathroom had one of those old fashioned, lion claw style bath tubs in addition to a shower. I, of course, had to make use of the tub! We did and saw a lot of things while in Ireland, but one of our best memories of the entire trip was buying cheap wine at the local Supervalue and drinking it on our room's balcony while watching the sun set. There was just something so relaxing and life affirming about that moment, smelling the peat smoke from nearby chimneys, listening to sea birds singing back and forth overhead. And of course, a review of a B&B can't be complete without rating the breakfast. This was also top notch. I had scrambled eggs made with local cheese which was so delicious. I posted a photo of the hubby's breakfast which included salmon in the shape of a rose (I know there is an actual name for this but I forget what it is). They also had this cereal & raisin soaked yogurt concoction that I've never had anywhere else, but sticks out in my mind to this day as being so uniquely delicious. If you're planning a stop in Kinsale, I highly recommend The Old Presbytery.

The breakfast that is included in your stay is 5-star worthy. Everything is made to order and homemade scones are ready for you as you wait for your breakfast. I had an egg sandwich and my wife had a seafood omelette. Rick Steves boasts about the Old Presbytery and he was right on with his recommendation. The Old Presbytery is within walking distance of shops, pubs, and the harbor. We would definitely stay there again.

There are stairs leading into the building, narrow hallways, an elevator that barely holds a rollator and two people. But that's just the start of our experience so far. Even though the room we have is somewhat accessible the shower would not be for anyone with mobility issues. The shower appears to be recently renovated as does the rest of the bathroom the entrance to the shower is small and the floor is slippery!!! Not what you want for anyone. The issues continue, the mattress is old and has a foam topper on it. Needs a new mattress that provides some support. You only get about 12 tv channels and of that only about two have anything that's remotely interesting. We luckily came back to our room at 6pm only to find two servers from the cafe below locking the front door. No one told us the door gets locked and we were never told how to get in. Need anything after the receptionist has left at 5? You need to call to the sister hotel to have one of their staff help you. There is no a/c, not a big problem as you are located near the water so there would be cooling over the evening hours. But the windows are heavy and you need blocks of wood to hold them open. Again no one told us until we called to find this out. Again we had to call to the sister hotel to have someone bring something to prop the windows open. They do provide a Dyson fan but without the windows open it just blows around hot air. There's a large Ardmore in the room for hanging clothes, etc. That's great except there are no handles on it. Want to open it? You need to reach up to the top of the door to do that. Out of luck if you are short. Internet? Almost non-existent. Connections keep dropping, can't connect to websites, not even sure I'll finish this post before I lose the connection again. Think you get the idea. This establishment may work for some but there is no way we can recommend it and this is only our first night of a two night stay.
