Oh man. That's... Really all I can sum it up with.
We're Asian. We're in Italy. We're craving fish. We've also been walking all day, and we see this place. Alright, lets have sushi for dinner! Yay!
Umm... Well. For starters, the maguro was... Purple. Purple and tasteless. Like, literally tasteless. Amaebi had a funky smell to it... Actually, 4/5 things on the platter had a funky smell. The salmon gave me PTSD. Salmon is my favorite and I couldn't eat it after one bite! You know when you bite into something you expect to taste good and suddenly your mouth is filled with regret? Yeah. It smelled really bad, like it'd been frozen over and over and constantly stored with a million different fish?? I ended up burping up that horrible memory all night. Ikura was very salty, more like sujiko. I only bit into the saba and immediately put it down. The ebi was... Well, it's boiled shrimp. Unless it's rotting it's pretty hard to mess that up. I was at least able to eat both pieces of that.
The rice was way too cold and hard, though it did have good shape, seemed like it was molded by hand. I can't stand places that do it with a machine.
The miso soup was actually... Really good, which is weird, because I was expecting THAT part to be bad. (Every sushi place we've been to in Italy has had mediocre to bad miso soup)
Overall the sushi was... Terrible, and I spent last night being afraid I was going to get food poisoning, but... One of the ladies was really friendly and gave great service and I enjoyed having a little chat with her. And since the miso soup was good, I'll just add an extra star... Maybe if I just ordered ramen things would have gone better. read more
