Three weeks prior I had appointment with Dr Kim, we came in for X-rays and were told there were two cavities that needed fillings, so we scheduled an appointment for fillings last months. When we arrived, the nurse said the previous X-rays were unclear and needed to be retaken entirely. Then Dr. Kim said there were actually five cavities, and that two of them were so severe they might need to be extracted. While my son was having the X-rays taken, he gagged a few times--which is quite common. He did not resist at all throughout the process, but Dr. Kim said he was uncooperative and needed to inhale some gas first, followed by IV sedation to put him to sleep. IV sedation always carries some level of risk, and it's best avoided if possible. As a doctor, you should at least have basic patience. A six-year-old child cannot be expected to sit perfectly still like an adult. During the entire exam, the dentist made no effort to communicate or interact with my child. As a pediatric dentist, if you don't have patience, then you should treat adults instead. I understand that putting a child under general anesthesia makes it easier and faster for you to complete the procedure and move on to the next patient--especially since your income is tied to efficiency. But as a doctor, shouldn't you first consider local anesthesia and try the least invasive approach? Therefore, I strongly, strongly do not recommend the pediatric dentist Dr. Kim at this clinic.

I called the office and spoke with Yvonne, who was able to get him in right away to have his tooth checked. Dr. Liang was able to squeeze him in later that afternoon to perform the root canal. Dr. Liang was very professional and incredibly gentle. My husband came out of the appointment completely pain-free. A few months later, I needed to have a root canal myself. Of course, I went to see Dr. Liang. I'm very nervous when it comes to dental procedures and pain, but Dr. Liang reassured me that everything would be okay. His soft-spoken and gentle manner helped me feel calm and comfortable. He did a great job! I would highly recommend Dr. Liang to anyone who needs a root canal. Yvonne, the office manager, was also wonderful! She called us the next day to follow up and make sure we were doing okay. unfortunately my recent experience with the office team has not been very good…read more i previously had a dental crown procedure with this office and i loved the experience, from booking to the operation. this was last year, i have since switched insurances and wanted to return to apex dentistry. previously i was quoted about 1k for wisdom teeth removal. my new insurance has advised they cover this procedure fully. i called earlier this week and was advised to call later to speak to the office administrator. they did not offer to take my info down, just to call later. well i called later on and requested the office administrator. the office administrator had actually answered the call, but she advised to call back tomorrow. i was confused because all i needed was them to update my information and check if my insurance covers this procedure fully. i advised i was a returning patient and it felt like i was pulling teeth, begging them to at least take my info down. the admin ended up asking for the name of my insurance and my callback number. they advised they would call the next day between 1-5. that was the last i heard from them! it's been a few days and at this point, i may not want to return. the staff was inattentive and did not return my call. that is quite unfortunate because they are local and i liked the dentist and was confident in his work.

We began a procedure at the beginning of Covid, but was paused due to the pandemic. Although they already collected funds, they did not leave me high and dry. Once businesses returned to normal, they proactively scheduled me to finish the job. Dr. Uppal never let me leave his office unless the procedure was done to a high standard of quality even if that meant spending more of his team's time to get it done correctly. He does not "upsell" you with any superfluous work. I am very happy with the smile they have helped me to achieve. I would return to Apex and recommend them.

My #24 tooth is now less painful that can be from my hard cookies I ate (Dr. Monina reminded me this eating issue) and this very week and small tooth (1/3 or more less in regular size), Then she warned me last week that whitening using a tray for my teeth will not whiten the crown or filling! She was concerned I may lose my teeth if I do not floss correctly. Other dentists didn't tell me about this floss threader. I really appreciate her so much. Two previous dentists put fear on me by telling me the possibility of infection of my broken tooth to the head and or to the jaw if I do not take it out and get a bridge, a denture, or an implant. After more than a half year since July 2023, there has not been an infection! Praise God! Dr. Man and Dr. Yeap recommended the removal of my broken tooth but didn't scare me of any major infection like other two dentists. Yet, it was painful for the anesthesia shots of my whole gum for a deep cleaning but I bore with it. I prayed, thought, and cried: God, please help me! The environment is clean and comfortable. X-ray wasn't covered by insurance ($65), then they said I needed a CT scan ($275, also not covered) after I was already numbed. One doctor claimed I had 7 cavities, which my own dentist never mentioned just a few months ago. The worst part? While I was lying on the chair numbed, the front desk walked in to charge me right there. Felt very unprofessional and pushy. The actual extraction by the lead doctor was fine, but the overall process felt more like a money-making routine than genuine patient care. If you're in urgent pain, it will get the job done, but if you have options--go somewhere else.
