CUSTOMERS BEWARE -- GET A SECOND OPINION My recommendation is to think twice before using this plumbing company. If you do call them, I strongly suggest getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major repair they recommend. Do not fall for their high pressure scare tactics! I had a blockage in my home and called this company to diagnose and fix the problem. The plumber who came out did what I felt was the bare minimum if any work at all and did not resolve the blockage. Instead, I was told I needed approximately $7,000 in spot repairs to my sewer pipe, with the possibility of up to $30,000 for more extensive replacement/re-piping to the sewer. The way the situation was presented made it sound urgent and as though major excavation and repair work were necessary. Fortunately, before agreeing to anything, I decided to get both a second and third professional opinion. Both told me essentially the same thing: my pipes were fine and did not need to be replaced. It turned out that I simply needed the drain line properly cleaned to clear the blockage for $150. No $7,000 spot repair. No $30,000 re-piping. No tearing up my landscaping. I understand that plumbers can have different professional opinions, but the enormous difference between the original recommendation and what two other professionals found is extremely concerning to me. I felt pressured toward very expensive work that ultimately proved unnecessary. I feel like I dodged a very expensive bullet. Before authorizing thousands of dollars in sewer repairs from this company or for that matter any work. GET A SECOND OPINION. read more

Run as far as you could from this place. Classic click bait company with no ethics. I am raging posting this since we got scammed that left us with anxiety for more than a week, for something that should have been fixed within an hour. Charging 10-20% more for a job is one thing, but coming up with non existent issues and trying to scam for 10-20X of off what should have been is a different thing. They also use your personal situation and probably assess how vulnerable you are to fall for the scam. For example, we are new parents and were both burnt out when they first came in. Maybe it was obvious looking at our faces that we didn't have time to do any research. Read the full review to get a better idea. We contacted them for a drain clearing issue seeing their 59$ add online. They charged me 99$ on phone saying that covers the drain cleaning plus 15% of any new issues. Being just 40$ more it made sense to take the membership. Omar Mendoza arrived, very patiently heard about what happened, went to garage and inspected everything, checked under the sink and said the piping needs to be replaced coz they might break if he opens them (turns out this wasn't true btw), he quoted 722$ and I agreed coz I need to get this done asap, and since he showed me some corrosion around the pipes I believe him. He spent 3 hours snaking the drain and said the sink is heavily clogged and needs hydrojetting for which he quotes 7400$. So by that night we spent 722$ + 99$ + the sink didn't clear + we have a new air gap issue that they caused (ie they removed the air gap and didn't replace it properly). Next day I kept calling them through out the day, I called 6-8 times in total each time waiting for 30+ minutes on hold, David Sanchez finally showed up and apologized for not clearing the drain and said he could get us a discount and have the hydrojetting done for $2900. We were pissed by that time and rejected it and asked for a refund. They did finally give a refund, but that involved constantly calling them again for a whole week. Just for comparison, another plumber cleared the sink for $400 (emergency plumbing) and inspected and said we didn't need hydrojetting. We also had to get the air gap issue fixed which didn't exist in the first place and that costed us 120$. /The plumbers that were involved, OMAR MENDOZA and DAVID SANCHEZ, and the facility manager ALEX MARTINEZ are all big time SCAMMERS. The reason I am saying this is, I read very old reviews on here, looks like they are very knowledgeable, but they didn't have the right morals to do their job as promised. Also, when they are at your place, they put in several hours and pretend like they tried their best and things didn't work, and finally come up with a more expensive plan. When I say "they pretend like they are trying to do their best", they really do put on a whole show and since we are not the experts, we believe that really did try. They also spend a lot of time explaining the internals of piping and stuff even before starting the job. I guess they are just establishing trust before scamming for a larger sum I could give them negative stars if I could but I need to give atleast 1 star to get the review posted read more

Our kitchen sink backed up and wouldn't drain, so I found a company on Google advertising $59 drain cleaning and scheduled an appointment around 10 a.m. They first said the technician would arrive between 12-2 p.m. At noon, they changed it to 4-6 p.m. Later that day, they canceled again and rescheduled for 9-11 a.m. the next morning. By 10:30 a.m. the next day, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called customer service. They said they had no idea when the technician would arrive, but their system still showed 9-11 a.m., so they told me to keep waiting. The technician finally showed up at 12:30 p.m. After working for about an hour, he asked me to turn on the water--but the sink still wouldn't drain. He then said he could "fix it" with a hydro jet service for $2,100. When I declined because it was far too expensive, he told me I still had to pay the $59 service fee, even though nothing had been fixed. After waiting around for two days, my drain was exactly the same, and I was out $59. Be careful. These low advertised prices may just be a way to get someone to your house and upsell an extremely expensive service. read more

Repeat customer! With 3 dogs & 3 girls in the house you can imagine how much hair goes down the all drains (As much as we try to avoid the hair going down it's inevitable.) Well Sunday our overflow sink started to back up. Called them and they were able to get us serviced within a few hours. AND didn't charge us an arm & a leg for it! Adrian C came out snaked our line and we were good to go. He was helpful and got the job done quickly. So grateful for Adrian and the Rooter Hero team! Thank you! read more

I had roots from the City tree in my sewer pipe and Hector said do not use the toilets or it would be clogged further. He would try to unclog but before trying he said the charge would be $389. I was shocked as I had a $59 coupon that would not apply. Then he said it would be $300. I could not use the toilets so I was desperate to fix. He said I had to sign documents before he could start work. Unknown to me..it was a 10 page document with such legaleeze to absolve Rooter Hero from any litigation. Hector did not show nor give me the full document to see and said to just sign to do the work. I then got the paid invoice for $300 plus the 10 page document online.. I could not read the tiny print and asked for the document to me mailed to me. I could not even print it out. I later received the full 10 pages sent to me full of legal talk and.....It said to call if further problems. I called and talked to Joy and Michael and they said a Mgr Rich or Alex would call back within 24 hours. Three calls later....no response. This was since Sept 18th. Hector tried to snake the sewer line from the house to the driveway and.....NO RESULTS, COULD NOT SOLVE SEWER PROBLEM I told do not use the toilets . He said it would cost $6500. to clear the pipe. I did not agree and did not accept him for the job. I called another plumber and he snaked thru the pipe in 1/2 hour. I could use the toilets until he could come after the weekend to retrench with new pipe. I did not have to sign any documents. I paid Rooter Hero $300 and got no results. I wished a refund for my $300. I am willing to pay the $59 on coupon for Hectors time to attempt to fix. But he did not fix anything. I am waiting for the mgrs to call me. I feel like I have been scammed paying $300 for nothing. Do not trust the coupons. Rooter online ads say Free Camera inspection, $50 off any repairs and 10% discount. Nothing applied, mentioned or given. This is dishonest advertising with too many perameters. Get 3 estimates all with 5 stars and read reviews before hiring. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY. We called them for some water pressure issues and they came to do an assessment. Charged us $400 for the assessment and claimed we needed a partial repipe for $16k. Sent over the pictures and video to another plumber and they quoted us $11k for FULL repipe from street to the house. What a huge difference right?! But the kicker?? We didn't even need to do repipe as all of our pipes are already copper! They lied to us making us think that if we don't repipe, our pipe will burst and our house will be flooded. All we needed to do was go to Home Depot and buy new filters for our faucet. I am appalled at their audacity to try to scam us to this extent. I understand wanting to make money, but to lie up to $16k service? That is insane. Please stay away. I would have given negative stars if I could! I wasted $400. read more

Sadly, I have to give this company a really unfavorable review. We had low water pressure in our main shower, and we had a Hansgrohe shower pieces and Tony, the manager of rooter heroes told me that it's like the Mercedes-Benz of bathroom fixtures And that the cartridge that probably needed to be replaced was really really hard to find because it wasn't made in America, etc. Then he said what really needs to happen is we need to change out the valve and that will entail taking apart the wall, taking apart the plumbing, installing a new valve and then hooking the plumbing back up and closing up the wall and that'll be $7,965. I was actually floored, and I called three builders and two plumbers after he left and all of them told me that that's not at all what needed to happen. One of the plumbers as we were talking on the phone literally went online and found the cartridge I needed on Amazon. He's going to come over next week to fix our water pressure problem and he's only going to charge us for gas to get here because he's going to drive out here from Monterey. Of course we'll pay for the part as well, but we're going to get the entire job done for less than $300. Certainly is better than paying $7,965! Scammers. read more

Making appointment easy. Very nice & helpful. Available within a couple of hours on a Sunday to snake a garage /kitchen drain. Technician 9014 Adrian Corona called ahead & on time. Polite & Friendly. Bait and switch. I booked a service advertised at $59, but when the tech arrived he claimed he didn't know about that coupon and said they only had a $77 promo instead. I asked to use that one, since the fine print said it covered drains up to 75 feet. Then I was told it only applies if the drain is cleaned from the outside--not from the toilet. The clog was cleared from the toilet in about 3 minutes, and I ended up being charged $270. Felt misleading and frustrating. I won't be using them again read more

Don't fall for this scam company. Here's few reasons (a) initially site shows very cheap rate for drain pipe cleaning (under$100) and when they come on site the employee will find reasons and increase prices to 6.5x ($650) (B) After some negotiation he comes down to $450, but earlier he lied saying prices are decided by company and we cannot change.. (C) Even when work was not fixed, this company charges $250 ( more than half for just visiting.. actual problem was not solved (D) Now the employee starts giving even higher quotes.. $6500 to replace whole drain , $1800 just to put 1 T section on pipe .. full on scam to charge more for unnecessary reasons. (E) Even basic tools were missing ex: he removed the toilet and put it back but he didn't even apply the caulk and neither did he clean or remove all the old caulking before seating the toilet seat... For reference I had installed this a day before and originally had new caulking there which he messed up.. and didn't even fix the original problem. read more

When I created a project on Yelp to fix a leak on my main water line, yelp included them as well. They responded quickly and scheduled an appointment. After checking the reviews I asked them to cancel the appointment. They said they were being targeted, they have better google reviews and so on. Regardless they convinced me to keep the appointment. The person showed up and said it is a high pressure line (water main) and it will cost $2900. I thanked him and sent him to his way. At the end another guy did it for $700. I even had a quote for $500. I would avoid them at all costs. They are still texting me automated offers. read more

The guy who came in for a free inspection and quote, told that he needs to put in a camera into the drain before he can say anything, and this service won't be free. We agreed to that, and after examining he asked us for an exorbitant $1800 or so for flushing out the drain etc. Next day, I had another guy take a look at our issue, and he fixed the issue for us with less than a $100. So, either this Rooter Hero guy did not know what he was talking about, or he just wanted to do much more to fix my issue than needed. Either way, a poor experience for me. read more

DONT USE THESE GUYS!! Called these guys to come snake my kitchen sink because ours wasn't long enough. The plumber only went 35ft and said it's too clogged so he went under our house, even brought out his supervisor and they said we needa replace the pipes. The estimate was 4,000-6,000$$ We asked if they can try to snake it more than 35ft (the website said they do up to 75ft) the plumber told us he can't because it won't work. We couldn't afford that so they left and we were stuck with a clogged sink still. The next day we called another plumber who went only 50ft, kept running hot water, etc. Our sink was unclogged in 2 hours. Rooter Hero only cares about the $$ I called asking for a refund because they did basically nothing and was told I should get a call from customer service and still heard nothing back. read more

About annually, I need to get my sewer line cleaned due to roots clogging it. I scheduled a service call on-line. The service technician, Jonathan, arrived well within the time line. He asked what price I had seen on their web site, which was $59. He said that the new service charge was $77 but would honor the $59. The work was completed in less than half an hour. He did NOT push to have the sewer line replaced. My only complaint is that I didn't receive a confirmation that my order was received and scheduled. read more

This company is terrible and very unprofessional. They do not know the meaning of customer service! I called them today at 12:54pm for an emergency plumbing issue. They said they could definitely put me on the schedule for today and that dispatch would call me "shortly" with a time. After not hearing from anyone for over an hour I texted the number liked they asked and asked if someone will be coming today. Their response was yes between 3-5pm. At 4:34pm when I still haven't heard from anyone I again had to be the one to reach out and ask if they can please confirm someone will be here at 5. Again the response was yes. At 5:03pm I messaged again asking because the time frame has now passed only to be told they don't have anyone available and cannot come out! Are you kidding me?! I could have called someone else had they said that from the beginning. The fact that I had to be the one to keep asking and they didn't have the courtesy to call me as the customer and let me know is HORRIBLE customer service! So glad I didn't give this unprofessional business my money! read more

Now I am fighting for a 4K refund after it posted to my account after I was told I would get the refund within 24-48 hours! Quick service. Quick diagnosis. Reasonable price. Recommended to anyone who needs this service.

The Rooter Hero office overseeing the projects outlined below was shown in the related contract with a Concord, CA address. The very expensive primary work I describe here was undertaken and completed by Rooter Hero in the first part of January, 2026. Caveat emptor: it's still true.... Buyer beware.... My initial experience -- for a needed late-night, December 20th auger-snaking of a clogged sewer main (a.k.a. "sewer lateral") from house to street (with family guests staying in our house) -- was satisfactory. Rooter Hero's technician visited for that task at around 1:30 AM or so. Some other companies that advertised "24/7" assistance turned out only to have someone answering the phone in the early AM, able then only to schedule a service visit in the next day or two. I included a camera scoping of the line by the Rooter Hero representative (at agreed-upon extra cost). The technician was also a larger-job estimator, as it happened. Since the sewer main was an ancient vitrified clay pipe line that showed about 5 linear feet of root intrusion (as I saw myself in the camera run), and likely soon to develop another blockage, I took a quote for trenchless replacement of that line, from the cleanout at the house out to the community sewer main in the middle of the street. The estimate, at a little over $26,000, seemed very high to me. But the street itself would need deep holes dug (later to be filled, with new pavement on top) for the new pipe connection, with traffic control etc. And a quick second estimate (from another heavily advertised firm) specified similar cost (once it's open-ended items were priced). So it seemed that perhaps the high project cost might "ball-park" as sort of reasonable. The Rooter Hero tech/estimator also suggested a look under the house, at general outflow-pipe condition there. I already knew myself of some problems under the house. Replacement of all that piping (much of it galvanized) with slightly larger-diameter ABS was estimated by the Rooter Hero rep to cost about $25,000. Due to some urgency factors in the background, I agreed to proceed with both jobs (total cost $51,500), and they were completed. Toilets and sink vanities had to be removed temporarily and were then replaced. That part of the job unfortunately left us with a piece of bathroom tile shattered and a corner molding cracked. Repairs were made, though I will now finish those properly as time allows. I noticed subsequently that a similar trenchless sewer main replacement had been done further along the street, by a different company. Checking with the owner there for what was clearly a longer replacement-pipe line (and with a needed curve to the right) I found that his trenchless job cost was "about $11,000" (vs. my roughly $26,000), completed by a much smaller company in his case. To all external appearances -- and to the functionality satisfaction of that owner -- his job was done well. So Rooter Hero's cost for the trenchless sewer-main replacement was more than double that other one. And having seen the man-hours involved and materials used in my under-house outflow piping replacement case, I believe that job was likewise vastly overpriced. My guesses were confirmed by a small-company plumbing tech whom I called in yesterday, now several weeks later, for a separate job. Urgency conditions and convenience, and a mistaken presumption on my part that small companies might not be able to accomplish at least the trenchless replacement part of my job satisfactorily, led to a hurried decision and many thousands of extra dollars spent that I could likely have saved. Hopefully, my experience can help others avoid the same sky-high cost problem. If possible and your timing situation permits: before agreeing to a major plumbing repair or replacement to be done by Rooter Hero (or another one of the other heavily advertised "bigs"): get estimates from at least one or two of the small local companies. At least some of them are surprisingly competent -- and conscientiously fair-priced besides, for even major jobs. And if that is your result, be sure to save the business card for your small-company plumber for any future work. read more

I had a blocked drain in my garage sink and called Rooter Hero for a quote and estimate. Initially, they quoted me around $700, which seemed reasonable, so I gave them the go-ahead. They ended up cutting the sink's pipe--claiming it was glued in with adhesive instead of being threaded--and began clearing out the drain inlet. That's when things started going downhill. They hit a blockage and couldn't proceed with their drain cleaning tool. At that point, they decided to call in a drain specialist. After some time spent talking among themselves in their car, they came back and dramatically changed the quote to a range between $4,600 and $60,000, depending on the service. I immediately told them I wasn't interested. They then tried to push discounts and coupons, but even with those, the price was still far above what's normal. I ended up contacting a local mom-and-pop plumber instead. They quoted me just $500 for a full descale, drain cleaning, and to repair the sink--which, by the way, Rooter Hero had cut and damaged. Rooter Hero had the audacity to say reinstalling the sink would cost an additional $1,700, despite the fact they were the ones who removed and broke it in the first place. Overall, a terrible experience. I would never recommend this company. read more

Rooter Hero comes as close to FRAUD as possible without meeting the legal definition of fraud. Read on. UPDATE: Don't be fooled by response from "Owner" below. No resolution has been offered despite my super-reasonable offer to refund $5500 of the $7750. 90 year old Mother, lives alone, calls for the $77 "special drain check" as advertised in local newspaper. There was nothing wrong with her house or plumbing. She has too much time on her hands and thought "why not". Two men show up on December 9th, tell her terrible things about her drains, bring in hoses, bang around for 8 hours and charge her $7,750. That's about $1,000 per hour if you're keeping score. There was no paper trail at all. They asked for her credit card and never told her what it actually cost. These men took advantage of my Mom, and scammed her out of thousands of dollars for work that did not need to be done. In early March, I hired [Company Name] for a clogged kitchen sink. I was told by company staff that the service qualified for a $59 special. When the technician arrived, he initially quoted a higher price, but after confirming the location of the main sewer line, he agreed the work qualified for the $59 special. The technician snaked the line. During the service, the lid/cap covering the exterior main sewer line was removed, without explanation or documentation. I was told it was acceptable to leave it open and that no issues would result. Within weeks, foul‑smelling wastewater and food debris began discharging from the open sewer line in my backyard, a condition that did not exist prior to the contractor's work. I contacted the company and was advised the service was under a three‑month warranty. Despite multiple attempts to schedule corrective service, follow‑up repairs were not performed. I had to reschedule 8-9 times due to missed appointments, conflicting information, and technicians arriving outside agreed timeframes. A supervisor eventually visited on 4/18 but provided inconsistent information regarding pricing and timing of repairs. The missing sewer line cap was never corrected. The plumber done the work well. But the help arrived very late, likely due to being short-staffed, which resulted in a long wait (which the other company offered the sooner service, but I offered a chance to Rooter Hero because I saw it around my neighborhood, and I had a business with them before which I don't remember the detail.) The $59 coupon advertised on their site felt pretty useless, as the final quote for the job was, in my opinion, significantly overpriced. However, I ended up giving them the job anyway -- partly because I felt bad they had come such a long way, and I'd already been waiting for hours. It seems like service these days often pushes the boundaries of what customers are willing to accept -- almost like it's testing how far we'll go in negotiations.
