I had the jerk chicken plate. The jerk chicken was sooooooo good. On the plater were plantains, black beans and rice. The dish was down right delicious and filling. read more

Roosters - Rice, jerk chicken, black beans and plantains - Tacos Near Me - Mobile, Alabama

We stopped here on a rainy evening. It was good but nothing exciting. Be sure to put sauce on the tacos - ours were pretty dry. Guacamole was standard but the red salsa was good! Beer selection was disappointing but the cocktails were good - the palomas was refreshing. We had ice cream sandwiches for dessert... YUMMY! They were made by a local company. Service was ok - it felt like they were pushing us out the door. All in all good but not particularly memorable - not sure we will back. read more

Everything was superb here at Roosters. We were seated right away, drink orders taken quickly, and our food ordered really fast. Service was outstanding! Several members of the wait staff were helping us throughout our meal, not just our assigned server. We had the rice and beans plate with pork, and the meat was about the most tender, flavorful pork we ever had. Cannot compliment the entire team enough! read more

Meh. Took a long time to order, food was okay, but small portions, small menu. Nice locale and ambiance, but not worth all the hype detailed in other reviews. Over priced for what you get. Probably won't be back. read more

Host was very helpful and friendly when we needed to move indoors due to incoming storm. Food was delicious. Good service despite being very busy. Would recommend and would come again! read more

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place. The jerk chicken is very tender and tasty.

YUMMY!! Jerk Chicken Quesadilla, Steak/Brisket/Carnitas taco, and pork nachos.... DELICIOUS!! I also tried the hibiscus tea which is refreshing! Can't wait to try this place again! read more

Recently visited during Happy Hour. The margaritas were very good; tart and reasonably boozy. The chips and salsa were A-OK. I opted for the Mahi Mahi and shrimp tacos which were not HH priced. Both were really good albeit on the smallish side given the price. If you're in the downtown Mobile area and want a cool place for a HH respite, this is the place. I'll be back! read more

Delicious, flavorful food. The Paleo Plate with chicken was my dish. I used their specialty house-made hot sauce. Fabulous!!

Over the years I always try and get in here. I had the surf and turf burrito and a couple beers. Left happy!

I had the Mango Shrimp Tacos with the Corn tortillas. The shrimp was seasoned well and the salsa was refreshing. The rice was a little bland and it was hiding under the black beans in a bowl. I also had the queso dip and chips and the queso was very good and different. It has a little kick to it. My party also got the Surf and Turf Burrito. Come with an appetite because it is MASSIVE! If you don't like spicy I wouldn't suggest it. I ate some of it and it was full of steak and shrimp. We could of shared it between two people. It was delicious. Service was very quick. The margaritas weren't bad although they didn't come in a margarita glass so that threw me off. All in all it was a good experience and I will return to try something new! read more

I loved this place! The service was fantastic, we had a great server and everyone else in the restaurant was attentive to us because they were slow. Me and my husband ended up getting the diablo salsa to start (they have three options!) and split the side of queso that I got with my plate and it was more than enough for both of us. I ended up getting the spicy chicken tacos and they were delicious! They have a fridge full of different hot sauces to try, and I'm a hot sauce fanatic, and the creeper sauce was my favorite. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and have been recommending it to everyone I know in real life! read more

Stopped by Roosters this spring afternoon to take advantage of the the Monday Happy Hour! The booze is $2 off during their happy hour M-F, i believe, and their specials on Monday is $2 off the Margaritas. I've posted a review during Rooster's "development stage" when the restaurant first opened and I must admit, the portions offered now a worth the price. The quality of the food offered is really worth mentioning as well. If you're downtown Mobile and seeking a causal but quality dining experience give the good folks at Roosters a try and get the Rooster's Sunrise while you're at it. read more

Roosters - $8.75 for burrito. - Tacos Near Me - Mobile, Alabama

I ate here recently on a business trip to Mobile and it was phenomenal! I had a pork taco and a chorizo taco and they were SOOO yummy - 2 tacos were definitely enough and filled me up. They have a salsa bar/cooler area with all different types of salsas to try too. The margarita special was a hibiscus margarita and it was really cool and delicious. The kitchen was fast and the wait staff was courteous and quick on their feet. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place! read more

I got the Cuban with Jack cheese instead of the standard Swiss. It was good. The place was clean, and the service was good. I found the price quite reasonable considering the location. I'll have to return for taco Tuesday some day. read more

Excellent service and the food was really good. Great southern hospitality. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with Habenero sauce and plantains. It was amazing. Don't let the habenero scare you as it was mild enough to eat but it is still spicy. I also tried a cup of chicken tortilla soup. This soup was really the tastiest i have ever eaten. It was a bit spicy however, i love that; this is a warning for peeps that don't like spice. All in all,i would say if you are going to visit Mobile, AL make sure to visit Roosters and go down to Dauphin street. It remains me of a smaller version of NOLA! read more

Roosters - Tacos Near Me - Mobile, Alabama

Food is fantastic but ambiance / vibes are a little like a chain restaurant. Not necessarily my favorite, but it's worth mentioning that this is my boyfriends total favorite restaurant in the Mobile Bay Area. We work during the week and they're closed Sunday so unfortunately we're almost never able to make it in. read more

We didnt expect food to be that great! We decided to walk in Rooster after wandering that area that we loved so much in Mobile. I ordered beef brisket which was very tasty. My partner ordered taco; he said the shrimp one was better than the mahi mahi! The restaurant was not well designed, its quite dark inside but the waitress is so nice and helpful. read more

There were a few kinks with our lunch here (the order had an error and we were given someone else's bill) so I withhold a star. BUT that may be remedied once the newness wears off and I will definitely be returning. For some, the prices may be a bit steep yet it is totally worth every penny. Queso is top-notch and the freshness of the food is apparent. Presentation is excellent. Also, the portions are quite large. Our chicken nachos fed two and we left groaning a little. Rooster's is an excellent addition to our growing downtown food scene. read more

Went to lunch today with my son and got some really good food prepared nicely. WAY better than I expected based on my one previous ( and that could have been just me) experience. I had the rice and bean plate with chicken. It had guacamole and sour cream, salsas and oh my...excellent. My son had a couple tacos that were spot on. The homemade corn tortillas are nasty good.... These folks get it...and I will be back. read more

This is a difficult review. Let me just state right up front that I thought the food was fantastic. The steak and the pork al pastor tacos were both incredible. The queso was as good or better than any in Mobile. That was the good. The line was a little long at lunch, but I'm not going to hold that against them. Every new restaurant in Mobile has long lines at first. In fact I'd say Roosters did a great job of handling the crowd and clearing tables as quick as possible. The two real negatives I have are the price and they screwed up our order. Neither my friend or I got the tacos we ordered. I get that Roosters is still new and mistakes happen, but at the end of the day neither one of us got what we ordered. The real kicker to me though was the price. Ten bucks for a couple tacos that are basically meat on corn tortilla is a little steep in my book. It reminds me of a backyard pachanga. That's not a bad thing, but if I'm paying that much for tacos I sort of expect more "fixings" than just cilantro. tl;dr Food tastes amazing but costs a bit much. I would go again. read more

For those who say the price is the issue - I disagree. Compared to the other places in this area, this place is pretty reasonable. What I WILL say is the food could use a bit of work. Cooking the corn tortillas on the grill with some butter would make a huge difference. Queso is a little too thin. The chicken was good and I had a palomawhich was great - though admittedly a bit of a sweet drink for me. Considering this place opened last month, I'd say they are doing alright. Service is great. A few tweaks to the peripherals of the food would make this place a five star cheap find in Mobile. read more

Great vegetarian burrito in La Pura Vida! Don't get me wrong, I eat meat but it's so good I keep ordering the vegetarian option. Fantastic!

Service, food, and drinks are very good. Take it easy on the salt in the queso guys lol.. way too salty but can't stay mad at ya, because in the end it was delicious. read more

The staff was very friendly, they were not super busy at 2 pm so the food only took around 10-15 minutes to come out. The burrito with pork was so good. I got the cilantro tomatillo salsa & it wasn't bad but my boyfriend got the mango habanero sauce which was way better in my opinion. The sweet tea is also good(I'm picky about my sweet tea), the queso is amazing, but the chips were nothing special. The price for the food was reasonable and I will be back to try out some more items on the menu. Come try out this restaurant & support local businesses in downtown Mobile! read more

Probably the worst food and service I've had over a two week stay in Mobile. The chicken was mushy and tasteless, overall am uninspired dish. Service was non existent with the young and seemingly inexperienced waitress stretched beyond her limits serving two tables. Either that or she just didn't want to be bothered. No refills until we asked for them, check took forever and she billed items incorrectly. Needless to say we never went back and made sure we let ebenso in our group know not to bother going here. No wonder this place never seemed to be busy, even during prime dinner time. read more

Sorry Roosters. I really really wanted to like this place. I have given it a try 3 different times. But alas.... there are issues I just can't get over. All 3 times I've been here the staff seem to be over run during lunch. It takes a while to get a table. Then when you finally sit it takes 10/15 min before a server realizes no one has helped you. We sat in the cold for 15 min before i asked a passing server if he was our server....He went in a about 5 more min a waiter came by and asked about drinks. We said we were ready to order but he insisted he go get the waters first before we order. 15 dollar burrito , she got a 4 dollar soup which was in a ramekin(tiny cooking dish). Chips and salsa as an app for 3.50 and the chips were like bagged grocery store chips not fresh made. Total lunch 27.00 for a thimble of soup, an average burrito and Walmart chips and salsa. Sorry but I'm done. The pics on social media look so good, but in reality it's just not worth it. Overpriced food and terrible Service. We won't be back. read more

Consistently fresh, delicious. Courteous service. Clean, polite. The food is always top notch-the paleo plate and the Mexican pizza are my favorite. I've had so many amazing meals here. The margaritas are the best. Never made with a mix, fresh seasonal ingredients and well worth the price. The open kitchen is a plus. No shenanigans, fully transparent.
