Peach iced tea ($6.55) was delicious but didn't really feel like I would want to be a regular. I was literally wearing a shirt with a rooster on it and none of the staff even noticed.

Cafe 1/50 - @roostercoffee . . . Elaborated Review; This is hands down one of the coolest cafes I've been to on King St E & here is everything I love about Rooster Coffee. The minimalistic interiors are welcoming, if you are looking to just hang out with a friend/study/work/doomscroll. The coffee is hard to describe, let me just say it's so yum! You gotta try it yourself. They get their own signature blends made but that's not even the best part. You have a few options of blends you can try from. Something for everyone :) The crew is super helpful & patient when it comes to suggesting. You won't go hungry in this cafe, quite literally! You have your fresh baked goods but also salads or chia pudding & guess what? If you don't feel like coffee/tea they even sell wine & beers! Now we are talking. Lol. The toilets! I can't emphasis how clean and chic the toilets are at Rooster Coffee. 10/10! Last but not the least, I would like to thank me for visiting this gem & sharing about this place so passionately. If you like what you see, make sure you follow along as I am on a mission to visit 49 more cafes in Toronto by December 2024‍ Thank you for taking the time to reading this, until next time.

Honey ginger tea made from powder

I ordered honey ginger tea as recommended by sales person, it was made from powder and was extremely spicy. When I asked the same person at counter if I could change it for a different drink she stated I would need to purchase a new drink because otherwise it's like I'd be getting a "free drink." I barely drank the tea and didn't know it was spicy or from a powder. I was obviously trying to get a cup of tea to enjoy and was not 'looking for a free drink"

Picture this: it was a lovely quiet, snowy morning. I had the almond croissant and seasonal latte (honey ginger). It was a perfect way to wake up in the morning. The honey ginger was spicy and flavorful. The almond croissant was flaky and lovely. I wish this place was closer to my stay so I could come by every morning.

A cosy little coffee shop with a cute name and sign, how can you not stop in when you are in the hood. Located on King St E this is a small spot that seems to be always busy - so don't be surprised if you can't get a seat. You can get some pastries here - I tried the ginger molasses cookie which was delicious! I had that and a peppermint tea and the total was only $4! Low lighting and eclectic vibes - random chairs, tables etc make it feel like you belong. The baristas are really outgoing and nice and make you want to come back. Too bad this place isn't near where I live or I would be here all the time. A great indie coffee shop that I feel like I could bring a book and just chill for a bit.

3.5 star Rooster Coffee has this nice College vibe which is quite different to the first location on Broadview. People here are friendly and a lot of them busy on their laptops or preparing for their classes. It might be quite difficult to find an empty seat if you prefer to stay in and enjoy your coffee from a real cup just like me. Lines can be quite long but it does moves fast! I do love the rustic and cozy decoration and the coffee is quite good too! I will definitely be back when I am in the area.

Having been impressed by the their other location I was looking forward to this visit. Boy they did not disappoint. The setup is not as rustic (as commented by my friend) as the other location but it still have a nice and inviting feel to it. Actually too inviting as one of the person working their commented that even thought it was the his day off he still showed up to lend a hand. The desserts are quite good as well. We tried a almond croissant and almond based pastry and and both were decent. The sandwiches are apparently not from the same source as their other location (need to confirm that) Here is the verdict to the cappuccino Espresso: Medium Crema': Very nice Milk: Frothed very well with nice microfoam . Not your average cappuccino. I would say 4 stars.

Atmosphere is hipster but lowkey (great for conversation). The latte was a bit overpowering but overall a great shop!

This is hands down the best coffee shop in Toronto. For context, I've spent a significant amount of time in different coffee shops in the last three years. Many of them are great: Balzac's, Dineen Coffee, Dark Horse, Jimmy's... but there's a reason why Rooster Coffee earns awards over and over again. Let's start. The staff: all of the very friendly, very engaging and very authentic. No stuck-up, entitled vibes or fake smiles and scripted greetings. They're REAL people, down to earth individuals, always happy to see you walk in the shop and happy to prepare a delicious cup of coffee for you. The coffee: always always always outstanding. Six sigma quality. Food: Excellent variety of baked goods, sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc. The decor: beautiful and with a lot of character. A variety of couches, chairs, high tops, coffee tables and working stations. The patrons: a very cool mix of patrons frequent this place. From college students to people coding away, older crowd reading newspapers, etc. Prices? Affordable. An unquestionable 5 star.

Had an appointment across the street so I decided to stop by for a morning coffee. I ordered a simple macchiato, which kept me going for the entire morning. I love the vibes of this place, with its dim lighting, soft chatter, and hipster art pieces. A short review for now, but I hope to be back soon to try more beverages.

Met up with a pal at Rooster Coffee with a pal on a lazy Sunday afternoon and loved it. Sadly, I forgot my phone at home so I didn't get a chance to snap photos to document the awesomeness of this coffee place. I really like the location - Corktown (and the stretch that RC is on) is really picking up with a number of cool coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. You're also like a ten minute walk from King Station so RC is in a convenient location. The look of this place is awesome as well; it looks like you're in someone's cool loft with a number of paintings from local artists. You also have to check out the washroom ... so cool. This place was a perfect place to catch up with my pal. I found staff to be super friendly (and hipster!); they all seem to know their coffee. My pal and I loved the latte art that came with our lattes; it definitely added a nice touch to our drinks. Rooster Coffee also has food like sandwiches, cookies, and squares. It all looked pretty good. I'll definitely be returning ! Good for: coffee/tea

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

As soon as I entered I got a whiff of fresh bread and was suddenly overwhelmed by the amount of breads and baked goods on display. I've had their cheese pullapart loafs as well as danishes previously before, however, this time I was at the store for a free cinnamon bun as it was a free birthday reward for being a member of their Cobs Club. The cashier was friendly and asked if I wanted either a cinnamon bun with icing or plain. I opted for a cinnamon bun with icing and she put it in a box for me before handing it over. During my time at the store the place had a steady flow of customers, coming in to buy baked goods. My cinnamon bun was big and tasted great! I heated it up a bit when I got home. You can really feel the care and personality behind the space, which added so much to the overall visit. We tried a variety of items, but the Pizza Caesar Wrap was easily the standout and our favourite thing we ate. Crispy, cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavour. Even better, $3 from every wrap goes toward supporting Daily Bread Food Bank through their $30,000 fundraising campaign, which made ordering it feel even more worthwhile. We also really enjoyed the Spicy Ham & Cheese, which had the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, salty, and savoury flavours. The Gourmet French Hot Dog was another highlight with its sweet and savoury flavour combination wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. The Four Seasons sandwiches were a fun concept inspired by the Blue Jays, and while the Chef's Choice wasn't our personal favourite, some people at our table enjoyed it more than we did. For dessert, all of the cookies were freshly baked in-house and surprisingly good for a grab-and-go style spot. The double chocolate chip was rich and soft, and the white chocolate cranberry and macadamia cookies were both solid classics. The iced matcha latte with oat milk paired especially well with them, and the iced vanilla latte was smooth and easy to drink. The space itself is bright and open with big windows that bring in lots of natural light during the day. Seating is cozy, but the layout still feels spacious and comfortable overall. Overall, a playful comfort food spot that offers catering with genuinely friendly service, creative menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back.

I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.
