visited Room 17 Spa today, and my experience wasn't quite the same as my previous two visits. In the past, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and service, but this time it felt a bit different and not as relaxing as before. The spa is still clean and has a nice setup, but the overall experience didn't meet my expectations compared to my earlier visits. I'm not sure if it a change in staff, but the quality didn't feel as consistent this time. I got the advanced head spa treatment and WOW! Maryam expertly performed the service and everything about it was outstanding. I really needed some self care TLC and this service fit the bill. Wow! What a wonderful way to relax!!!! A friend and I were in desperate need of some self care. The atmosphere at room 17 is so calming and peaceful as soon as you walk in. I went with the hour head massage which is pricy at $120 but with every penny for the experience. This is definitely a treat. She massaged from the top of my head to the middle of my arms, there was a nice face mask and a great lymphatic massage for the face! They even blow dry your hair after so you leave feeling like you left the salon. read more

My first head spa apt and it was amazing!! Way more than what I was expecting from the description. The room was very cozy and decorated very nicely. I had such a lovely massage as well as all the other services included. My scalp got massaged multiple times and not only did it feel amazing I can already feel a difference in my hair!! I requested a female therapist but they didn't have one in today so I got a male therapist, Andrew. I was a little nervous because it was my first time getting a massage with a male therapist & prenatal massages can be very tricky but my worries were put to rest right away. He was very professional and always ensured i was covered & comfortable. He constantly asked if i needed to readjust myself. He even extended my massage time for free and told me i can stay and nap in the room if i wasnt ready to get up yet. They also offered me tea upon arrival and departure. The best part is the lobby. Lovely tranquil music. I was well greeted. Then taken back to the space for my treatment. The technician was nice but hard to understand. I was told to take my shirt off and put on this...thing. Not quite a shirt or a smock. Not clear how it was to be worn. I put it on best of my ability. When the technician came back she adjusted how it was to be worn. Wish she'd started with how to wear it. That was the end of the conversation. Nothing was ever explained. No asking how I was doing. No "how's the water temp?" No, "Would you like me to explain what I'm doing?" No communication. The whole thing felt rushed, not at all relaxing. Like scrubbing laundry. At one point some product was put on that burned my scalp. I didn't say anything (my mistake) as I figured it was a deep scalp cleanse of some sort. It stopped burning once rinsed off. But the worst part was that night. I couldn't sleep as my scalp burned and itched all night. It still itches and burns. Think sunburn. So, no, I will not be going back. Sad, because had it been what I'd hoped, I would have made this a monthly routine. Oh-one more thing. I was on crutches due to a recent injury. Zero help with the crutches. Two employees just stood there watching me struggle with the door to leave. Literally just watching me. read more

Paid $150 for 1hour and 30mins and she was done in exactly 1 hour. Plus most of the time was wasted in getting things together for each service. Water would be too hot then she completed everything with water that was too cold. Another thing they don't even show you the "after" results of your scalp. They should show if the scalp actually got cleaned after the service. After payment I had a "$15" off coupon for next time which they did not transfer to me and just brushed it off by saying "you will get a text." It was a nice experience overall, but the treatment rooms could be warmer, the products used can be warmed up, and perhaps more measures taken to make sure the head is kept warm. I was cold the whole time and with a wet head, it was uncomfortable. This was not a luxury spa by any means. It was adequate, but more measures should be taken so that clients are kept comfortable and warm. And to be fair, I did not voice that the room was cold, not sure if they could have remedied it during the treatment. Perhaps. There wasn't enough blanket and towel coverage. Room 17 is an amazing place! The ambiance is a nice and chill place which I loved a lot and made the experience more calming. They give very relaxing head massages and massages in general using wonderful products. The service here is amazing with respectful and kind workers! Also, Room 17 takes kids for massages so you can bring your kid as well! One thing I would recommend for them is to add more beds in one room but Room 17 is a wonderful spa in the valley! read more

When I asked for the details of the hair analysis they mentioned how they aren't a dermatologist and tried to rush me out which was confusing because they weren't busy at all. Staff did not Look over the forms we filled out or go over important stuff with us, like allergies I had written I was allergic to Argan oil and I believe they used it on me because I had so many breakouts after. 3. TV in waiting area was so loud. 4. When I scheduled my appt. I made it with a specific person but was placed with someone else which is not a huge deal but at least let the client know. 5. Overpriced for what was done. 6. Lights were too bright in the room 7. Cheap products, didn't feel relaxed. 8. Staff did not communicate anything. The parking is in the back and there is plenty. This place was great. I went with my sister last week. There was plenty of parking in the back a little lounge you could chill before your appointment or after your appointment. Staff was very nice the beginning of the treatment was getting my scalp looked at then we went to the room. They first started with a facial and then an upper body massage. Then they wash the hair did a hair mask etc. It was so relaxing definitely worth every single penny. I had my hair scalp treatment today at Room17 in Encino, and it was wonderful. The spa is really nice, quiet, and clean. My treatment was extremely relaxing and satisfying; I fell asleep for the most part. Ariel started with a relaxing neck and face massage, and then the fun began when she started working on my scalp. I feel that it necessary to highlight the fact that the self-described "owner" of Room 17--who chose to post a response to my review--is being wholly disingenuous, if not outright, bald face lying, in saying that his business "has never had any agreement with Groupon and our services are not sold through that platform." [The microscopic kernel of truth in this otherwise totally erroneous testimonial is that "...our service ARE not sold through that platform." That much is actually true, if you were talking about the present tense. Groupon NO LONGER offers services at this business. However, they once did, and that was how I was able to procure a Groupon for 2 massages at Room 17.] Further obfuscating--or trampling on--truth, the owner maintains that "...we have never offered massage services." NOT TRUE! As stated, I purchased a Groupon for 2 massages at Room 17, which was not honored, nor was I allowed to substitute the head and scalp treatment in place of the massage(s). I was told on the phone, and in person, that I needed to contact Groupon in order to get a refund. Throughout this whole process, I was treated both rudely and condescendingly, in a way that is the antithesis of good--or even, satisfactory--customer service. And, by the way, the owner's response to my review closes by saying that, "Room 17 is Los Angeles's only specialized Head Spa, dedicated exclusively to scalp and hair wellness treatments provided by licensed professionals." this was the most amazing experience, you need to treat yourself too. Brought a frirnd for her birthday and it was the most relaxing fantastic experience, cant wait to go back. INCLUDES MULTIPLE SCALP WASHES AND MASSAGES, FACIAL, NECK AND SHOULDER MASSAGE, we didnt want it to end. After they blew out our hair , included in the price of the treatment all other scalp treatment centers wanted an additinal $50. fee just for the blowout .
