After paying a bunch of money to two other companies who did not do my roof the right way, I called Jake at Roofworks to schedule a time to give me an estimate. Jake was sympathetic to what I just went through with all the money lost by hiring people that were not licensed. He scheduled me an appointment for an estimate and arrived on time. Jake was kind, considerate, professional, and very concerned with what happened inside my house after the roof was not done properly by the previous companies. It was a nightmare. When Jake arrived, he told me he is going to look at the roof as if he knew nothing about what happened, which he did. I received the estimate and gave him the job. Jake kept me informed every step of the way. It was service unlike any I had experienced here in the desert. When there was a problem with the previous company's work, Jake explained it to me and corrected it. During this time, Jake went above and beyond to make sure my roof and the adjoining fascia boards were fixed and painted properly. There was nothing that Jake overlooked in making sure my roof was fixed properly. I couldn't have asked for a better company to do business with. Our 20+ year old roof was getting tired and we lost a few shingles during a wind storm last winter (2021). I called several roofing companies looking for help to secure the roof before the next storm arrived. Roofworks was the only company who was willing to come out. Jake patched the section where the shingles were missing (in below freezing blowing wind) to ensure none of the sheathing was exposed in the next storm. On the basis of his willingness to help us protect our roof, the following spring I called to get a quote for a new roof. I was happy with the number and Jake agreed to replace the roof for us. Unfortunately, we have a solar array and I had difficulty getting anyone to uninstall the system so we could deal with the roof. By the time I was able to arrange it, Jake said it was too hot to lay down a new shingle roof he would be willing to warranty and we would need to wait until September or October, which is what we did. Jake began the process by replacing two areas of west-facing facia which had been badly sun-damaged. As he proceeded to remove the old roof he quickly discovered problems with several areas of the sheathing, which he fixed properly. During the process of stripping the roof, we had a hail storm, and a snow storm, and during the roofing a rain storm, each of which interrupted the process. Jake ensured the integrity of the roof by temporarily covering it with plastic when necessary. Jake kept us informed at every step of the process, which was much appreciated. The work was meticulous and the finished roof is beautiful. He paid attention to details such as painting areas he felt should be color-matched to the roof color, trim color or wall color, He added roof-vents to help reduce the interior heat which otherwise has been trapped at the peaks. He even insisted he be present when the solar installers return to ensure they do not damage the integrity of the roof in the process of reinstallation. I hired Jake at Roofworks to repair my leaky concrete tile roof in 2016. He definitely lived up to his reputation as a highly competent roofer, He quickly determined that the leaks were caused by cracks in the underlayment and developed a very reasonable quote for replacement.
