Michael came by interested in the project. I told him he can pick up the blueprints from the Big Bear city hall for his review. Not sure if he ever did. But tried calling him several times, and clearly he was not interested in the project. Didn't even call back to let me know that the project was too complex for him to handle. Homeowners just be aware. There are only a handful of contractors...the goods ones are always word of mouth. read more

Michael is a friendly guy who seems to have pretty good knowledge around construction but does not seem to have enough experience to give estimates even on very scoped projects. He made me waste over one month holding my house keys trying to get estimates from him on some remodeling projects I needed done. I called every week trying to get the writing estimate on what I asked in person and I would always get the answer that he would take care of it next week. One month later nothing. Still no writing estimate neither a time frame on how long job would take. If Licensed Home Improvement is only looking for big fish projects or too busy to take any new project, they should mention it explicitly and not make waste time to people. Still, I was able to test the quality of the work on a small wood fencing project and result was average. The people he hired for the job did not know that some smart guys invented sanders so touching the top of the wood fence could hurt your fingers. Also the guys he hired thought I was stupid enough to not see they only put one coat of stain so I had to ask them to put a second coat which they did. Shady practice in my opinion. If you wanna waste your time and get average work done on your property, then you can give a try. read more

So sweet! Super helpful! I would recommend! Thank you so much for your help! We look forward to using your services if we need again! Also very caring, and flexible with his schedule read more

Met with Michael October 4 2019 to review our project. Michael indicated he would get back to us later that week. After 3 weeks I emailed his office and was told Michael would be "reminded". That was 2 weeks ago ( 5 weeks in total) and still no contact from Michael. The courtesy of a phone call or email to let us know he was not going to follow up as promised would have been appreciated. We will be using a different contractor. This one not recommended. read more

I messaged via yelp, and was asked to email them which I I did. I didn't get a response so I called and only got an answering machine, i left a message and no one called back. I then got a reply to my email two days later saying Michael will stop by and be in contact with me. I never heard from Michael or anyone else. Horrible customer service. read more

We purchased a run down and neglected home in Upper Moonridge and hired Michael as our contractor to renovate the house. Furthermore, whenever we have any issues that need attention, Michael and his team are always very responsive. As we don't live in the area, the piece of mind of having someone we trust close by is priceless. What separates Michael from many others in the area is that he doesn't cut corners and strives to do a thorough and quality job. If you're looking for quality you can trust, we highly recommend him. read more

Met up with Michael who was very knowledgeable. Excited to start this bath project and will update at a later time when work has been done.

Michael is a wonderful contract and person. Willing to work with you and willing to help you. He and his team did a wonderful job for my bathtub and tiling on the wall. Fast response to question doing construction. I recommend working with Michael. Thank you I appreciate the work. read more

Licensed Home Improvement - Wonderful job on my bathtub and tiling. They are very reasonable on their price and willing to work with you. Thank you. - General Contractors Near Me - Big Bear Lake, California

We hired Michael and his crew for a few medium projects to bring our rental home up to code. We were under a tight deadline as we already had our first booking on the calendar, and not only did they get the job done ON TIME, but they did phenomenal work! We are tough customers and are used to being let down by the work of other contractors, but Licensed Home Improvement really came through for us! Highly recommend their services and will definitely hire them again for future projects!! read more

100% recommend Michael and his team for any and all construction needs! My husband and I live in San Diego and wanted to update our cabins kitchen. We initially reached out to LHI for this reason, but discovered a cracked slab, which became priority number one. After completion of the slab repair, he advised us on several other small projects throughout the home to bring it to code so we could rent it out. Everything from electrical, to framing, to finish work. He used to run rentals in the area and is a wealth of knowledge if you're looking to rent your home. He was always happy to share very helpful tips that have been invaluable to us. His team did a fabulous job, completing the work a week BEFORE the deadline and UNDER budget! All the while communicating and offering extra attention to detail and explaining every step of the process with us from a far. We have other rental properties in San Diego and understand how difficult a reliable, quality contractor can be to find. For this reason, I was not optimistic about the selection big bear would have, but he has blown us away with his professionalism, attention to detail, cleanliness, and pricing. read more

Very disappointed. I set and confirmed an appointment for two different projects and no show. Not even a phone call. How disrespectful of my time. Event contractors are flaky in this town. So disrespectful. read more

Can't recommend Licensed Home Improvements enough. My wife and I just bought a home in Big Bear City and ripped up some carpet to discover a hodge-podge of old linoleum / tile -- yielding repairs far out of our DIY expertise. I called Michael and 30 minutes later he was at our home assessing the situation. We told him what we would like him to do -- and not only was he able to level our floors (in one day), he beat the previous quote we had for installing our laminate floors. The work was done quickly, but with care. Michael has been very attentive to our questions and timeline. We are first time home buyers and he has never hesitated once to answer our myriad of questions. LHI rates are definitely reasonable. We were interested in having quality work done, so if you want someone to do the work the right way the first time-I can't recommend Licensed Home Improvements enough. read more

Great contractor! Michael Beveridge and his team are superb in the quality of work they perform and the customer service they provide. Dawn kept me apprised every step during construction including sending emails and pictures of the progress they were making. I met Michael when the project was completed and he could not have been more courteous or professional. I will definitely be using Licensed Home Improvements for any future projects. Highly recommend! Thank you Michael and Dawn. read more

Called Michael on Monday to do some cabinet work on our place in Big Bear due to a a newly purchased counter depth refrigerator not fitting correctly. He offered to come out the same day to assess what needed to be done, scheduled time first thing Wednesday morning and promptly finished trimming cabinet doors, framing and lacquering and all done so with nice detail and attention to clean-up. Extremely happy with the finished product, great pricing and very responsive. Definitely recommend him!! read more

Michael has great communication skills . He gave me options and was on the ball from the first meeting . A real problem solver from getting the job done to explaining a better more efficient way to do what I wanted to do with in my budget . read more

Michael and his crew made improvements to the original bathroom and the kitchen flooring in our 93 year old cabin. They were respectful of the cabins originality. The pricing was fair, especially based on the age of the cabin and its original craftsmanship. We'll definitely use them again. V & T Montgomery, Big Bear City read more

Michael saved us from an annoying smoke detector battery that was beeping every 60 seconds. He had all the tools needed, including a very long latter that reached our vaulted ceilings in our cabin. We'll definitely be asking him back to work on larger projects. While he was here he recommend solutions for decking and electrical. He's knowledgable about the new city codes and regulations. Thank you Michael for taking this small job spontenously, you've earned our business in years to come! read more

LHI has been amazing when it comes to all of my needs. As a first time home buyer, I was worried about some of the things I would run into. Micheal is a pleasure to work with and the great communication with the office manager made everything quick and painless. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for an honest company that does efficient and excellent work! read more

It's interesting how some people view what they say and do as the same thing. While, at first, Michael seemed reputable his actions were less than favorable. He professed he would work with a budget of about 90,000 dollars which was at the limit of my insurance claim. We all know entire homes have been built for less. i was dealing with major damage, but the flooring, roof and sub floors were intact. His assumption that I would use an unlicensed contractor and that the Building inspector for the county wouldn't have issues with that are far too revealing as to where he wished to place the blame. I did have the county building inspector out more times than I care to count and things were placed in good condition, up to code and with a licensed contractor. When looking back on this, Michael made many promises and was slow on the uptake to deliver his bid, which took more than two months. So, while he might be a nice guy, he was not prompt nor honest in what he would do for the money, and wanted me to petition the insurance company for more than 25,000. more than was available. That, to me, and this is just my experience, does not speak well of a contractor's reputation: When they start changing the game plan before the project ever begins. So, be it as it may, I have a beautiful home for the price point allowed and up to code and specs and I didn't have to deal with Licensed Home Improvement to get it done. That, to me, is worth every penny spent and then some (25,000.00) not. This is it, my last word on the issue, but I wouldn't trust this type of work ethic from a contractor. I'll Use Angie's List from Here on in. read more

Honest, reliable and does excellent work. What more can you ask for with a licensed contractor.

Licensed Home Improvement was truly there when I needed them ! A few years back the side of my home up in big bear was compromised by a horrible rain storm. I got up there and walked through my bedrooms downstairs and walked through mush! My carpets were destroyed as water had seeped through the side of my home. I immediately called my realtor and she gave me a couple names to call. The first to return my call was Michael (of LHI). He quickly came over, assessed the damage and started drying it up right away . I knew then he was the right guy for the job ! After the fantastic work he did on that job, we ended up hiring him to add a large bonus room into our house . Again , a beautiful and timely job! We weren't done with Michael and his team though... Last year we had him resurface our large deck we have over our garage . Can you guess?? Perfect! Thank you Michael ! Thank you for always being there for us! read more

We wanted a small job done. Michael arrived, looked at the issue (opening a vent for heat to unheated room), gave us some ideas, left and we've never heard from him since. If it is too small or you don't want to do it, all we ask is to tell us that, not leave us and not return our calls and emails. Now another winter season is going with no vent to heat our extra bedroom. read more
