Once they were finished, I expected to speak to one of them about the job and the estimate, but once again they rang the doorbell and when I went to open the door they were halfway down the street. The biggest problem was that on the invoice they left on the door was an additional charge for respiking the fronts gutters. At no point did these unprofessional workers come and get me to discuss my options, they just "fixed it" without my approval. I spoke with the manager and she stated that her crew saw that the gutters on the front of my house we're hanging "they weren't " and that majority of the time when her crew comes across a problem on a house they just fix it and the customer is ok with the additional charges. REALLY! in what world when you're conducting business do you just tack on charges without the customers knowledge that they'll be paying extra. She then she goes on to tell me she can charge me half the price of the additional charge or have the crew come back out to remove the new spikes that they allegedly put in. Or they can come back out to my house and explain to me what they did and charge me full price. Oh and did i mention that when they put the alleged new spikes into my gutters they put new holes into my house. So, if they were to remove them I would have multiple holes in the side of my house that are exposed to the elements. This is by far the worst business that I have ever dealt with. The next step was when they called back to tell us when we would see the crew arrive. Terry was very nice and got us a date when we would not have kids in the house. We got the yard cleaned up so everything was out of the way and would not get damaged by the debris. And there was LOTS of it. But when they left you could not tell there was debris everywhere. Based on that prior relationship, I engaged them again in 2026 for a major, insurance-funded structural repair after a 40-foot pine tree struck the corner of my house. While I paid my contracted estimate in full, a subsequent physical audit of the completed project revealed differences between the billed scope and the executed work. I strongly advise anyone hiring them to physically verify all completed items. -Equipment Billing: The final invoice included a $550.00 charge for a 20-yard dumpster that was not delivered to or utilized at my property. -Labor and Structural Scope: The billing included a $7,002.55 custom quote to tear down and rebuild internal framing, plus an additional $2,371.68 for framing labor. Despite paying the original estimate in full for this exact scope of work, an internal physical audit revealed the primary structural replacement was not executed. Furthermore, the minor patching that was performed was attached incorrectly, causing the new lumber to split. Communication Timeline: On July 1, I spoke with the Project Manager regarding visible exterior alignment issues and missing materials. As seen in the attached screenshot, he promised a response from his management team by the next day. A response was not provided. Prompted by this lack of follow-up, I audited the interior on July 4 and discovered the unperformed structural work. On July 6, I emailed Able Roofing's executive management team with photographic evidence, formally requesting a correction or a refund. I provided the refund option because if Able refuses to perform the work they were contracted for, completing the original scope now requires hiring another contractor to tear off the re-shingled sections--including the decking, soffit, and gutters--just to access and rebuild the internal framing. As of today, 11 days have passed since I last heard from anyone at Able Roofing. It appears Able Roofing is not used to customers auditing their work. Do not assume the work you or your insurance company paid for was completed as written. Get in your attic, verify the work, and scrutinize every single line item on your final invoice.

But then they missed the higher up gutter and didn't connect it to the lower gutter (something specifically called out on their FIRST VISIT and discussion of work to be done, and a FOLLOW UP EMAIL where they said "yes, we will do that work.") Plain and simple, it's a gamble that you'll get what you paid for, but at this price, I had bigger gutters/downspouts and leaf guards added for less than other companies wanted for just a leaf guard. But the inability to complete the contract and then demand payment when I can't afford a lawyer? Does NOT leave a favorable feeling. Update: so they were paid in full - after the lien was filed, before their work was completed. Now they're demanding $200 extra to remove the lien, saying "it's in the attached invoice" - which it is not. So they filed a lien BEFORE work was completed, they were paid IN FULL before work was completed, and now are hassling me over $200 that they claim is in the "attached invoice" (hint: it is NOT in the invoice!) So - I'm going to say "not worth the hassle" and seek someone else. Maybe I'll get it resolved this year, who knows.

We have a very difficult mid century modern house that we added a 1200 sq ft addition on to. It has many odd angles and attaching a new addition to a house that has settled for 80 years is a skill that these guys perfected. They installed all our huge windows and doors, which saved us a ton of money from having the window company do it. They installed them perfectly and at a great value.
