My last two visits to the location in Inwood resulted in two additional visits elsewhere. I brought two different vehicles to Ron's to have tires installed, both times the balance was severely off. The first time was on a Saturday and they were closed the rest of the weekend so I had no choice but to go elsewhere to get it fixed. The second time was on a Friday and they haven't been open since. The difference in weights added from Ron's and the other place is staggering. Either the guy doesn't know how to balance tires or their equipment is outdated. First I will clarify that I am a tire professional. I have been a top tire salesperson on the east coast and a professional installer. The prices for new tires are the cheapest I've seen and so fare they have done a better job mounting and balancing then any shop I've known in 25 years. If you buy a used tire then it's on you not the shop. I have bought multiple tires from them and I have ordered tires from places like tire rack and I have had this shop install them. Yes it's a bit of a run down mess of a building but the only focus these guys have is doing the tire job correct. I'm big on professionalism so i would give them 3.5 stars due to those issues. But if you want the best price on tires and correct installation these guys have not let me down on over 6 sets of tires. Here's a few pointers on getting the tires you actually need . Do the research yourself. Cheap China tires are not high quality American or Japanese made tires. Know your correct tire size . Ps also to clarify the really nice looking tire shops usually have guys installing tires that have no idea what they are doing while charging a premium. read more

What amazing service at a very modest cost. One of my tires had a slow leak for a couple weeks. My husband would pump in more air every few days, but I was worrying it might get a lot worse. We drove to Ron's and I'm SO happy we did. 1) I didn't even have to get out of the car. 2) The guy jacked up the car, pulled off the tire and found the nail ASAP. 3) He took the tire inside and after a while brought it back out repaired. 4) He put the tire back on and took the jack away. 5) I paid very little and didn't need an appt. I just had to get in line. 6) My husband grabbed a business card so I can share with my friends. 7) It's SO nice to get great service and stop worrying. :-) read more

If you are buying NEW tires you can find good prices...I dont recommend to have them mount them. They dont seal the tires very well from my experience. I dont recommend buying used either after they sold me a tire that's dry rotted and had a plug in it. I bought 2 used tires and I brought it back bc one tire they sold me was leaking they said they fixed it but the next day it was going flat again. Third trip to have them hopefully replace this shit tire. Nope same ol dry rotted, plugged tire.. who knows what they did to supposedly fix it...maybe it will hold for a month... they are reselling bull shit used tires that wont last with plugs and dry rott. read more

I swear by this place for tire service. I used to hit WalMart tire center and deal with 4-5 hour turnaround times and poor customer service for cheaper tires until someone brought Ron's to my attention. Have never waited longer than 30-45 minutes to get tires taken care of and have never had an issue with used tires they have sold me. Their new tire prices tend to be reasonable as well... I was a regular customer at Ron's until yesterday. I called and was quoted a price of a tire, the price was reasonable. $25 cheaper than a brand new tire. My friend brought the tire to them, we didn't need them to put it on the car. Not knowing what the price was she paid $20 more than what it would cost for a brand new tire. So I go back over there and ask to speak to the person who quoted me the price and charged my friend $65 for a tire. They said he went home for the day and too bad it was already paid for. I found out today the person who quoted me the price was the one I was talking to, he lied about his name. I'm furious. I won't ever use them again. read more

went to Ron's used tires sunny side winchester and had my front drivers side tire replaced. employees were nothing but little thugs, very rude, and careless. already knowing I would never come back here, I left and my tire started shaking really bad. I pulled over on 37 to check my tire and my lug nuts were so loose. I purchased tires from Ron's used tires, 2 days later at 55 miles per hour my front right tire almost came off. I have $337.00 in damages and they refuse to pay for it. I spoke to Oliver immediately when this happened and he apologized, asked me if I saw who did that specific wheel and had me describe the individual. I did so, and was told that he would speak to him and again apologized for this event. Now, when there is a bill for damages they suddenly do not remember speaking to me 3 times over the last 2 months and are claiming that my wheel must have magically, randomly come loose and that I just fix it myself. I had been buying my tires from this business for over 15 years and this is how they treat their customers. I spoke to Eric, the owner and he was just as rude as Oliver, the manager. I am now without a vehicle for 8 days while I wait for my car to be fixed and Ron's Used Tires could care less. Buyer beware! read more

This place is AWESOME. My parents have been going here for years, and don't have a single bad word to say about them! I went today for four tires. I'm quite dumb when it comes to car-related stuff and the lady was very kind and patient with me. I was in and out in roughly twenty minutes, paying a fraction of what I would anywhere else. I don't know why anyone would rate this place as anything less than five stars, but they're crazy to have done so and it's probably more because of personal issues than anything wrong with the service. Don't ever use this place! You get what you pay for consideringt hey can't even tighten lug nuts correctly after putting tires on. We purchased two tires for my husbands truck. After he started driving his truck was shaking to the point where he felt like the whole front end was going to shake off. He took it back and they told him they checked it over and that it must be the transfer casing for the 4-wheel drive and that is not something they delt with so he would have to take it to a mechanic. We took it to the mechanic we have been using for the last 15 years that has always treated us fairly, telling them that there may be a problem with the transfer casing. After they looked at the truck, they called us to tell us that the issue was that the lug nuts on both front tires has not been tightned when the tires were changed. No problem, people make mistakes, we were sure that Ron's would make it right. NOPE. They say they reviewed the tape and it shows their guy doing what they were supposed to do. We have video from the mechanic where he could shake the front tires on the well the nuts were so loose. We also have the receipt from the mechanic for how much they charged us for putting the truck on a lift because we were told by Rons that it was probably a transfer casing. They refuse to refund us the money we had to pay to have someone else fix their mistake. A HUGE mistake that could have caused an accident due to their negligence. Great! I requested snow tires and the person I spoke with actually knew what I was talking about (I usually get the "deer in the headlights" look when I ask tire places if they have snow tires). He had to have them shipped from NY, it took a little longer than expected. Ron's held them for me until I could get there (I don't live in the area). I love my Snow Tires....I am not a "chain " person, I put chains on the tires once, never again. Having actual snow tires are way better. I also got two new all season tires for the rear. I was in and out with my new tires in 15 minutes or less. I am very happy with the service and the price, I will be going there when-ever I need tires (which will be the spring since the snow tires will need to come off). Great customer service and great price; very efficient (I planned on being there a few hours) not minutes. What more can you ask for? read more

It was a Saturday morning and the place was hopping. Still my arrival to departure time was less than 20 minutes to have a tire replaced. Customer service was excellent. Nickle and diming customers is analogous to Ron's. They are all about meeting the customers' needs and getting them traveling more safely on their way. VERY reasonable prices. read more

So I have used Ron's for the past few years as so as my dad who referred me here and we always have got good tires. Today I went their to get 1 tire. So while the guy was putting my center cap on it kept falling off mind you when you purchase after market rims the center caps are a hard plastic and you have to be gentle when putting them back on.. He broke it on the inside so when I backed out of the front of the parking lot the center cap rolled off. The guy said here this broke! I have had those rims on for 6 months, and they have been just fine! So how did he not break them? Ron the owner stated he wasn't responsible and that the rim had to be broke already. Really but when I got to Ron"s it was fine? It was fine when the guy took it off?? But not fine once the tire gets put on? I will not be taken advantage of by anyone let alone a business.. Me nor my family will ever give this so called business another dime!!! Sad to see how people do a small town but want the community to support a local small business? read more

The best place for tires hands down. They had 7 cars in front of me when I arrived so I figured 2 hour minimum. The manager give me a price for new and used so I could make a decision on what I want and whether I wanted to wait in line which had grown to 9 by this time. I came in for used tires but after hearing the price for new it was a no brainer, for $18 more I went with the new ones. Now I am starting to figure out why the line is so long, the prices are pretty unbelievable. Now, the waiting room isn't something to write home about but it kept me warm at least. So I'm sitting there playing on my phone waiting patiently and hoping that I won't be there all day when one of the employees steps up and asks if I'm driving the red Camry. I say yes and he says "could you please pull it up to the front,we are ready for you." I did not ask questions, I only went and did as he told me to and believe it or not I was out of there 20 minutes later with 4 brand new tires on my car. 9 cars in front of me and it only took them 15 minutes to get to me and 20 minutes to finish. 35 minutes! By the time they were finished doing my car there must have been at least 6 more cars behind me. These guys work very well together and have definitely been doing this for a long time.
