The first time I came here, it was awesome. The primary employee was helpful and welcoming as he showed me around the store. Even though the shop is very disorganized (which he admitted to), I found some valuable key issues in the dollar bins. The second time I came here, it was the complete opposite. The same employee who greeted me before was in a foul mood and scolded me for going through a box that had yet to be sorted. How was I to know? It was with all of the other boxes! Since the place is entirely disorganized, it's hard to tell which bins are off-limits and which are available to go through, which makes it quite challenging even to feel comfortable shopping here. Meanwhile, Ron sits at a back table, seemingly unaware of his sinking ship, as the card-playing crew continues their fore into Magic the Gathering. Another reviewer mentioned that this business focuses more on toys and board games than comics. I can understand that argument. On both times I've been here, the new release comic shelves were pushed into one corner of the store to make room for the game-playing tables. This makes it impossible to access unless you're paper thin and squeezing your way through the narrowest passageways to see what books they carry. Even though I found some gems here, I don't think I'll add this place to my usual stores in my comic hunt journey. Sorry, Ron. read more

A modest space, yet boasting several dozen back issue boxes, primarily Marvel and DC. A good amount of silver / bronze age stuff sprinkled throughout and some choice wall books. Spotted a few things I don't often see. Prices seemed quite fair, with some much-appreciated attention to grade. I picked up two Star Spangled War dinosaur covers that gave me a sense of deep satisfaction. There were two tables of dollar books as well. The affable guy working the front was helpful and attentive. I left with the feeling that I needed more time, which is a recommendation in and of itself. read more

Ron's Comic World is a below average comic book store. It's obvious from the few times that I've been there over the years that the business is more focused on toys and board games than comics. Their back issue section is a complete mess and unorganized. Most of the comics aren't bagged and board, and they are jammed into random row of boxes so tight that flipping through them isn't worth the effort, unless you are an extreme collector who has time to slog through it. Normally, unorganized back issue boxes don't bother me but Ron's Comic World has an unwelcoming atmosphere to it. The workers have a rough demeanor and I've always felt a bad vibe every time I've been there. The shop does offer a wide variety of new issues and trade paperbacks but I'm sure you can find a more pleasant super hero experience somewhere else. read more

I dunno what all the negative reviews are about. I've been a customer intermittently for maybe 15yrs. I like going in just to browse and get my hands on new products in person. I mainly go for board games and Pathfinder stuff, I rarely buy comics. (They were very helpful special ordering a hard-to-find compendium for me once) The staff has always been cool and talkative with me. I guess it just depends on personalities - very blue collar vibe behind the counter. Which I like. I only wish they had a wider selection! read more

An excellent comic shop with an excellent selection. A nice selection of back issues and an admirable choice of new. Huge selection of trade paperbacks. There are a few vintage high end books and more if you talk to the proprietor. I bough Spiderman 129 and Iron Fist 1 for a good price at a good quality. In a strip mall so you gotta look for it. Store is great buying comics. They have comics, toys, statues, games, etc. However, I was not pleased with the customer service. I felt as if I was being watched the whole time. I tried to make small talk but the clerk just wanted me to pay and get out. I will not be coming back. read more

Terrible shop. The store has a great selection of comics and offers many Magic: the Gathering tournaments but the staff are very rude. And the customers who participate in the tournaments will make you wish you never picked up the hobby. If you come in just to browse you will not be greeted but instead stared at and made to feel as uncomfortable as possible. Being the only comic and game shop in the area is the only reason this store is still in business. It is well worth it to drive an extra twenty or thirty minutes to a friendlier store. read more

We recently started going to this store for Friday Night Magic draft sessions. It's quickly becoming one of our favorite places to go. They have a large selection of current comics (not sure about back issues), trading card items and one of the best selections of tabletop/board games we've found in the area. Their prices are reasonable compared to many other places I've been. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable in their items. I'm not sure about the other reviews, but I do know that the staff has since changed in the last few weeks. read more

I had visited the shop the other day for the first time. First thing i noticed upon opening the door was an unleashed dog sitting front and center. Sure, I can ignore that. Next, terrible selection of back issues. They are absolutely unorganized and crammed into boxes so tight that it's impossible to browse through them. Decent selection of new issues. Custom service is nonexistent. The attitude and overall vibe from the male employee (whom i assumed was the store owner) was that my being there was inconveniencing him. I came close to walking out, but found a few new issues I wanted, and some backing boards. Overall, I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone, unless you like poor back issue stock and nonexistent customer service. read more

i was hesitant to try this place based on some negative reviews of their customer service, but i guess i was lucky to have co-owner Chris there the day i did. he was friendly, helpful, and not out to squeeze me for every dime he could get on a couple of unpriced comics. some back issue bins certainly need re-organizing, but at least it was explained to me as a work-in-progress. if you can't find something on your own, the store keeps an inventory system that can at least tell you how many of whichever item they have left... and even when that item was last sold. i live an hour away n can only drop by when visiting my sis, but will definitely return with my niece on a saturday Chris will be working. read more

I attended a Grand Prix Trial here where they were trying to get 75 players to get a larger Magic The Gathering event in store. The event was very poorly run, and the staff was incredibly disrespectful. I'll be driving further to play at stores that know how to treat their customers right. read more

If you're going to try to sell anything to this place do your research on the pricing first so you don't get ripped off. I've tried selling them comic books and cards and the offered me nearly 10-15% of what the items were really worth, they even tried to offer me $0.50 for a $30 comic book. read more

Store is roomy for a comic shop, not crammed in. Great selection of new books and trade paperbacks plus it has toys and posters. But what I really liked was the large selection of game stuff they carry. They had Magic and singles all over plus they did boxed games and board games. Staff knew what they had and were able to tell what they liked. The guy who works the weekends is the gamer in the store and is knowledgable about almost all of it. I enjoyed the store and bought some cards and a few trade paperbacks for my GF. read more

Boo! They require a minimum to purchase with a credit card. I found that out when I tried to purchase a $9.99 D&D book for my son and the rude lady working in there knocked on the side of her register a few times (where the minimum purchase sign was taped) and she acted as though I was lucky to have her bother to check me out. I did mention to her that I thought there was a law passed a couple of years ago not to have minimum purchase requirements and her reply was "everyone in NJ does it". No effort made to "help the customer" so, I put the book back on the shelf (as she continued to scold me for questioning her) and told her I'd let her know when I found the law. I went to the MasterCard site and it's in black/white that practice is not allowed. I notified MasterCard, sent a copy of the website to their "Contact Us" email. No reply yet. You'd think anyone having credit card authorizations would get/read paperwork that confirmed this and know what to do accordingly. read more
