They are great until you question their policy and evict you out for it but mask it as "we feel you are a threat".
A threat to who? They say one thing and do another. They create the problem, with their double standards. It is a giant nightmare as far as management there goes.
Not much of a charity home that makes you feel welcome and safe.
If you end up here due to lack if resources in Spokane keep your head down and mouth shut.
Don't talk to staff, don't question their policies. Ignore the fact that all families in the favorites corner, get to let children yell, scream, slam cabinet doors down the hall, jiggle your door handle, bang on your door with toys or other items, run up and down the halls all day and late into the night, stand and walk across furniture, who get to bang on walls, with no parent in sight. Because the moment you say anything you have a target on you.
The minute you show any sign of "a negative attitude" or "personality problems" your gone.
Definition of negative attitude as defined when googled: "A negative attitude is a disposition, feeling, or manner that is not constructive, cooperative, or optimistic. It can affect anyone, just about anywhere. For some of us, it's at home. Perhaps you know of someone who has a bad attitude about doing chores. Or maybe it's happened to you at work."

Definition of Personality Problems as defined when googled: "Personality disorders are long-term patterns of behavior and inner experiences that differ significantly from what is expected. They affect at least two of these areas: Way of thinking about oneself and others. Way of responding emotionally. Way of relating to other people."

They state on their website that this is a safe place for everyone but they don't care about mental health like they state.
Imagine how much anxiety one has when going through what they go through. Do you think what those kids do there make it easy for all to handle. Plus some people work and sleep while their kids are getting the help they need. How can they sleep with noise like that. So we tried to approach management more than once. One of the managers agreed to call once, he flaked. Then spoke with me one day and said we'd meet at 3pm the next day. Conveniently he had "covid". So we met with the other manager the 3rd time. That day she plastered a smile on her face asked what was going on. So we explained and she didn't care, didn't bat an eye when she said "we're going to have to ask you to leave" "we feel you are a threat". Ridiculous.
I spoke with another family who stayed here as she was witness to one of the issues I tried to get addressed, and she felt we were treated poorly and that there have been other people who stayed there that were a lot worse than us who never got booted for full on YELLING at staff or other people. We never did that. We tried to make families happy there during our stay. Helping with bingo, birthdays for kids, movie nights together, making cookies to share. We were supporting families with fellowship, encouragement and kindnessbut when we were trying to stay civil with staff about the lack of parents managing thier kids while mine had to check in every hour and get other things ironed out properly we get the boot.
Now we are over an hour away from our NICU baby, during winter, so double that time every snow day and triple for the icy road day. This is not what we wanted.
Good luck to any family who is still here or has the misfortune of being here during their stressful time. read more
