Great Thrift Store with great prices. I like the Coeur d'Alene location better but this one has a lot of good stuff also.

The thing about thrifts I think is you need to visit a few times. What you find is dependent on who is donating what and even my favorite thrift shops produce nothing for me sometimes. My first visit the UGM I was impressed at the organization. I wasn't in the mood to look at clothes but there seemed to be no shortage. I wasn't mostly interested in browsing the Knick knacks. I left empty handed, in part because there was nothing calling to me that day but also I felt the prices were kind of high. In retrospect, the area has to be taken into consideration. I would imagine all thrift stores (or any other stores for that matter) are a bit more costly in the PNW vs the south where I live and am used to shopping. I will visit again and we will see what I find. read more

I appreciate the variety of items for sale and the quality. I have purchased many things for my home from UGM. Their military and senior discounts have make things more affordable. And every dollar they receive is used for ministry in some way and to me, that's very important. read more

Been going there for 18 years , yeah prices have gone up ,they all have & sometimes I'm willing to pay it for the right item. Isle's are pretty tight & crowded with the occassional sound of breaking glass in case your jumpy . The staff is pretty cordial & helpful which is better. Changes are part of life , pretty good when not to crowded. 4-stars ! read more

Haven't been here in awhile and was in the neighborhood so thought I'd stop by. This used to be one of my favorite thrift stores because the prices were reasonable and they had a good variety of stuff. What happened??? I made it through 2 sections before calling it quits and didn't want to go through any more of the store. Prices were crazy ridiculously high! $26 for a can opener, $80 for a 10+ year old Blu Ray player, just to name a few. Save your money and go to a box store where you can get brand new stuff for less. Obviously this place has forgotten what a thrift store is. Might as well change the name to UGM Retail Store. Disappointing, won't be back to this one until they figure it out. read more

I live in Spokane, not San Francisco .... and I've been a very enthusiastic thriftshopper since I was 10 years old.. that means I've been at it 63 years.. allow me then, this .... honest review. ugm is no longer a thrift store.. it has become a second hand store for the repurposing .. trendy. people who don't have to..scrounge to survive. poor people cant afford the prices!!! I had not been for a couple of years due to illness.. so I was excited to get back there. I was disappointed nearly to tears. even the coffee cups are expensive.. why pay 4 dollars for a coffee cup.. at ugm.. just wait til you get to the goodwill..and get an equally pretty one for 99cents.. oh I remember the most beautiful handbag/ backpack I ever owned. five bucks... now, it would be likely 35... sure it was leather .. glove leather.. and how wonderful it was when I was so poor to own such a treasure. it couldn't happen.. now.. better luck on eBay. seriously.. I wont be going back... you say you help people.. help them, then.. tell them they can find better prices at the goodwill. and maybe be able to buy something. you are now concerned with the chic and the affluent. I wont be back. coupons or not. its a clean store , pretty , staff is nice.. but it was that way when it was a real thrift store. read more

This used to be my favorite thrift store, but won't be going back there again! Prices are lower at Nordstrom's, Nike Store, and Mor furniture. I typically buy new, but used to love browsing at the UGM downtown thrift store. I'm appalled at the inflated prices. UGM cannot use inflation as an excuse, they get everything free. I definitely won't be donating to UGM going forward. UGM is not in line with their mission, and thrift stores are historically for people unable to afford new prices. read more

I'm new to the city and decided to come check out their store, I would've spent more money but the attitude of the employees are absolutely terrible. Rhonda and the other woman I didn't catch her name but she had short black curly hair, treated my fiancé and I like thieves. We asked to use the dressing room and instead of answering us the woman looked at my fiancé and picked up the phone to announced over the intercom that the fitting room were now closed, even though they had someone using them and a few were open. I then looked at the women and said "oh so the fitting rooms are closed now?" Because they were very much open to everyone else but now all of the sudden not too us, as a woman of color I hate to make it seem like it's about color but this is what really solidified the feeling-- after I asked she started to whisper in to her little walkie-talkie... It's weird--Classy Rack was my nickname in high school. (Just kidding. But I, unlike the lovely Mackenzie B., am not above making fun of the name of this place!) All joking aside, this is a great thrift store! You walk in and there's a big board with the specials for the day--certain percentages off of different color tags or a certain item, like coats or kitchenware. They have all your standard 'departments'--mens, womens, kids, books, appliances, etc. Then there are the locked cases filled with more valuable things. It's always amazing to me what they put in those cases--moose figurines, broken watches, the First DVD's Ever Made... The lady working was really friendly, too. When we first came in and were poking fun at some of the gawdier coats, she was flipping it right along with us. Me like! read more

The name is easy to make fun of... Let's not go there. This is a Christian thrift store and the prices go from reasonable to down right outrageous! It is pretty well stocked but part of the reason for this is that they are overcharging for their clothes. Stil fun to look though. Enjoy! read more

I am so thankful for UGM for being willing to have my daughter complete her juvenile detention community service here. They are very tolerant and accepting of all. Unfortunately my daughter struggles with authority. Even after breaking the rules she was offered a second chance. Thank you for caring for all even thoughts who don't know how to take care of themselves. read more

I have been in a few times and am always stunned at how utterly clueless the people pricing stuff are. Today I actually found a "White Stag" brand blouse priced at twice what Wallyworld sold it for brand new! This is by far not the only time I have seen this, either. Seriously, are they trying to help the locals save money and afford some decent clothes or just trying to grub as much money as possible? Yes, I know they support the Union Gospel Mission but does it make sense to have to go to UGM to eat after spending so much to buy used school clothes for your kid or a nice blouse for a hard won job interview? Self-sustaining business model or what? Perhaps they should check the median income in Spokane. It is nowhere near high enough to pay twice retail at a junk shop. Forget about picking up any sort of decent vase or set of dishes reasonably here. Go buy them at Target or Pier Ones bargain bin and save yourself some money. FYI Classy Rack - you are a thrift shop. In Spokane. Pricing that junk like you are an antique boutique in Portland is classless in Spokane. read more
