By taking care of everything, they allow you to focus on your child. The new building on the north side of the street just opened in March 2020, and has never been fully occupied due to COVID. The design is very modern and contemporary compared to the original house across the street, which has more of a mountain cabin feel. The new building feels like a Courtyard by Marriott. The rooms are large and well-designed, with electronic key-fob locks, and the beds (with tempurpedic mattresses) are very comfortable. The kitchen areas are shared, and residents are expected to clean up after themselves, including loading/emptying the dishwasher. The kitchens are well equipped with appliances as well as brand new microwave ovens, refrigerators, and electric stove/ovens. RMH provides free Keurig coffee, milk, snacks and various food items. The staff is very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. There is several community/shared living areas with big flat screen TVs, couches, games for kids, etc. Some areas have been closed off due to COVID. There are self-serve laundry facilities that automatically dispense detergent, so you don't need to bring/buy any. Linens (sheets, towels) are provided, and you are welcome to change them out for new ones as often as you'd like. Outdoors there are play areas for kids, as well as a large patio area with BBQ's and tables for outdoor cooking/dining.

I signed up for Catholic Charities housing assistance program in mid 2021. When I didn't hear back for a few months, I called and asked why that was the case. I was then told that my barriers were medium level, and that meant that I had low possibility of being pulled. Like, being homeless with a baby isn't urgent enough. They then told me that, had I been on drugs or recovery from drugs, or had CPS breathing down my neck, I'd be higher priority. I'm sorry I am not an addict! I do not think that addicts do not deserve help, but I think that we should all be considered equally. Then it would next after whoever is next. I was unable to get assistance in the several months I was signed up hoping anybody would ever call me. My next call was my exit interview this spring, and I was very upset. After 19 months of homelessness from being 3 months pregnant to my son turning 13 months old, they were of no help at all. I'm still upset about it. I'm still trying to find housing, too! I am so tired.

The staff and the volunteers are always kind, thoughtful, patient and gracious. I do not know what I would do, were it not for this organization. Sometimes, they just call to see if I need any services, as I am elderly and disabled.
