This guy is the real deal! We were in town for a family visit when the need arose for a dentist…read more Looked up Dr Philip, got in for an appointment, and BAM! He's super efficient, and at the same time very thorough. Our visit was easily half the time it would have taken at our normal dentist. We were pleasantly surprised at the bill, too. I wish we lived closer, we'd have Dr Philip as our dentist for sure!

Beware!!!... My daughter went to this office for a cleaning and to treat a toothache. She…read moreexperienced the worse dental visit of her life. The dentist has no bed side manner, he didn't even introduce himself to her when he went in to meet her for the first time. With that being said she still went back for the extraction he told her she needed. He was very rough with her and she regretted going back. She was given no pain management instructions or pain medication. Her pain was intolerable that night. We went back to his office together the next day in hopes that something could be done about the pain. The dentist who seemed annoyed that we were there preceded to tell us that he shouldn't have even done the extraction. He said it was difficult and should've been done by an oral surgeon. At no time before the extraction did he state this to my daughter. When I approached him with questions about that he was very rude and defensive. He then went on to give my daughter a prescription for antibiotics which he clearly said she didn't need because there was no sign of infection. He claimed that it would help with the pain. (Again there was no sign of infection, which is the only time you should take antibiotics). To top it off he prescribed an antibiotic that my daughter clearly stated in her paperwork she is allergic to. That obviously means he did not review her chart before prescribing the medication.... If that isn't enough I witnessed him take his glove off and touch an impression that came out of another patients mouth. He gave the impression back to his assistant and grabbed 2 new gloves and put them on without washing his hands(he contaminated the new glove with the saliva of the other patient that was on his bare hands). He got very upset when I called him out on it and denied it. I clearly saw him do it.... Needless to say we will never go back there and most definitely would not recommend him to anyone. He doesn't even deserve the one star I am forced to give him. My recommendation if you're looking for a dentist is keep looking. Sincerely, Disgusted by this Dirty Dentist

The coordinator Angie is not professional at her job. She had a really bad attitude towards me:…read moreDidn't let me finish what I need to explain to her of my situation. She kept looking at her computer and challenged me with questions that wasn't related to why I am here for the appointment. She still wanted to dismiss me and sent me to a third party clinic, even I showed her my referral in my email. I asked to talk to the dentist. She refused for me to see the dentist. The dentist walked in and took me in for an exam. She was rude and nasty. She treated me like a child, acted like she is a principal. I am very upset.

They told me they would send the information to the cardiologist right away via fax. I called them a few days later and they said they didn't hear back from the cardiologist. I called the cardiologist who said they didn't receive a fax. The cardiologist called American Dental and they said "oh the fax didn't go through". The cardiologist said OK email it instead. It was never received!! The cardiologist called multiple times but never received anything. Over two weeks since the original appointment and nothing!! So my father suffered with pain that whole time. I called a different dentist and they got him in right away, I will NEVER go to American Dental again (I am a patient at a different location), but after this they are not getting any of my money. THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE THERE WERE ALSO LESS THAN PERSONABLE.

Walking in and leaving with a smile is important, but at age 75 I've had two different dentists…read morecost me $4,000 each, 60 and 45 years later; they are no longer practicing. But I've also had a serious stroke, which brings me to my point. A person who has had a serious stroke must find a restorative dentist who does the right thing, the first time, every time. I found Dr. Gurski. She's married now, but Kathy has been making me smile for 30 years. First at the practice she started with after graduating as a DMD, then at the Kenhorst location she rented when she established her own practice, now at the beautiful building at 601 Lancaster Avenue which has Kathie's special touch. One other thing: If you expect personal treatment from any doctor, surgeon or dentist, you must be considerate of the provider's schedule. I arrive early for all appointments. I don't know how they do it, but I seldom wait more than 5 minutes before being seen... sometimes I don't even get to sit down. Ha, ha. The dental hygienist, or Dr. Kathy, sees me in the waiting room (or sees that I am there on a computer display) and comes out to greet me and invites me to come in.

My first appointment went pretty good and the hygienist was very nice. At this point I met Dr. D'Agostino who told me I had cavities. He suggested I get the 2 on the one side of my mouth done at the same time and I agreed that it sounded like a good idea. I used to have a fear of dentists because as a teenager I had some very horrible experiences, but over the years I was totally over that fear - or so I thought. The day comes to have my cavities filled and it went horribly wrong. First, I didn't realize I would need 2 Novocain shots since that was never explained to me so I was a bit upset about that and then when the drilling started I felt I needed a little break to catch my breath. At this point I was literally yelled at and told that in all his 30 years of practice he has never had to be on egg shells with anyone like me, I should never have scheduled to have 2 cavities done at the same time, he wasnt going to even finish and he didn't want me coming back. I was literally stunned. If you are like me and do have a fear at all or uncomfortable going to a dentist you really should find another place like I had to.
