Dr. West has been the only PAIN FREE dental visit of my entire life! I needed an immediate route canal. At age 53, I have waited a long time in terror to attend to my broken tooth due to a previous nightmare dental experience many years ago. I am brand new to this area and agree with the people who highly recommended him as the best. I have never had a pain free dental experience ever, DR WEST GAVE ME THAT. He first numbed the area he gave me the 1st shot in so I didn't feel the shot and repeated this process again before the shot wore off. Ive had other doctors give me shots, but Dr. West did it perfectly right and I was shocked because I always feel the shots even if they are numbed. He knew the right to area to inject as many dentists are usually a bit off in my dental life experience who shock the nerve as they inject- not him!! Dr. West's sensitivity to my pain was what made him EXCELLENT, and his quick diagnosis and execution of precision along with his surgery craft. His understanding of taking the pain away first to relax me was his immediate priority. That told me a lot about him. My pain was taken seriously by Dr. West, he did not make me wait a minute longer in pain, it was that, which initially "won me over", - but it didn't stop there, my 100% satisfied experience continued at each step of execution of the entire visit- at each step- I was a priority to him and his staff-hence my 5 star review. As I walked through his office, it was evident all patients were treated as me! He also takes your blood pressure which truly impressed me further as a surgeon because I saw him as a "doctor" not just a dental doctor. This approach in dentistry was new to me and I felt safe and in good hands. And, his pain meds were like nothing I have ever experienced before because I felt nothing during before or after. THIS WAS AMAZING IN ITSELF- NO PAIN AT A DENTIST? !!! I learned from his staff that he is on top of the newest there is to offer in dentistry as is his staff is also required of the same. His staff do their best to make you laugh and keep you comfortable and allay your fears. Dr. West is humane, truly sensitive to your pain and precise and quick. Do not hesitate to make your appointment. This is a doctor of excellence who sets a high bar at being the best at his profession for himself and his patients!! He crowned my front teeth, just a year later a front crown…read morecame off, the woman dentist came in to glue it on, and put an over amount of adhesive on, bonded it with the light THEN tried to grind it off hitting everything but the adhesive. So here come the dentist with a hammer and chisel, and started pounding on my front tooth!! I got out of the chair and left, with a chip in my crown on my front tooth.. absolutely horrible experience no one should have to go through.

Everyone is very nice but this is certainly not the place to go if you do not have much money…read more Perhaps this is the way of dentistry now, but I went in with an immediate need and because other teeth in line with that one needed work, I would have had to get them all worked on. I realize that is the optimal way to do it but there wasn't even an option to help the one I was having pain with. They do not do root canals but they have no problem having you come back to get a crown. I understand that they recommended the best way but I cannot afford that so I should have been able to get the immediate need taken care of. In the end, I owe for a visit and left with tooth pain.

SECOND VISIT TO DR. WEST!! Another PERFECT EXPERIENCE!! Wow!! The most gifted dentist I have ever…read morebeen to. NO PAIN! I was in the chair for two hours!! I had a Major root canal surgery and was fitted with a temporary, and am currently awaiting my 3rd visit for my crown fitting. So glad I found him, it has been the SECOND non terrifying dental experience of my 53 years, the first experience was with him weeks prior. His staff are very comforting people to talk with before, during and after prep. The calm music, kind staff and visiting his beautiful office atmosphere once again lended to my experience. DR. WEST's SURGICAL SKILL is superb and has really gained my respect. He worked a long time on my 4root canal molar. A patient can get an intuitive sense and feel a doctors manner as the doctor works on you, and I can say firsthand his sensitivity combined with his knowledge of his craft can be felt as he works on you. DR. WEST is total confidence as he works on you and I felt in safe hands and could relax and trust him. I normally still cant relax or sit patiently without jittering with impatience in a dentist chair even on pain sedatives, but I feel a sense of trust and confidence in DR. WEST, and it is that sense which puts me at ease with him. I felt I must write about it to one who may be considering him. It shocks me to feel safe with a dentist, but I can with him. GARDEN SPOT DENTAL even has a driver service if you are close to the area. This was very helpful because I was on crutches and couldn't drive to my appointment. DR. WEST worked on my tooth with such care, and knowledge explaining to me all he was doing and what was happening and he kept me abreast of how much time I had left to be in the chair. Another example I felt at ease and why I say he's a good doctor because he's tuned into his patients mental state as he quelled my anxiety doing so. He made me feel very comfortable especially because he was aware of my state of mind of anxiety of wanting to get out of the chair after so long. He gets it and works fast and efficient. He puts me at ease because of his skill and one can feel "you're in good hands with DR. WEST." In fact, those were the exact words of the person who recommended me to him and I completely agree!! A caring doctor has been my experience. I found him to be very understanding of my anxiety of wanting to be out of the chair to be done with the procedure. That gets my vote! A doctor who is compassionate to his patient.

Not seeing the Lancaster location on yelp.. honestly seems it's for good reason…read more They fused my teeth together first of all and I've been trying to get that fixed as well as a cavity that's been bothering me greatly. The first visit was odd the layout of location is extremely uncomfortable. Strangers walking past as I'm getting work done and not to mention the dentist just kind of came in and got to work with needles in my mouth without saying anything or talking about where exactly they're working or what they're doing that day as we were splitting them up into different sessions. Following my first appoint I missed a total of 2 appointments. They waved the first one since I had Covid and the second time they had said I was going to get a fee. I was fine with that. I rescheduled despite my discomforts because of their availability and quick scheduling. I went in for my next appointment, and the systems were down apparently. I was turned away for my appointment and I asked how much was my fee for missing my previous appointment and would I get one for this one? They claimed they could see my account (even though the systems were apparently down) and that I apparently magically didn't owe the fee I was expecting to owe. they added that I would not be receiving a fee for that day, either as they wouldn't have been able to take me.They told me to call in an hour and reschedule and sent me on my way. A day or two pass because I simply didn't have the time to call. I call and then they're trying to have two fees on me... they don't even reschedule if you owe a fee, so how would I even get two? The employees have always been quite kind until I was on the phone with the individual i spoke with today. They literally just wouldn't even let me talk and that's kind of where my line was drawn. Should have been at the lack of walls and doors, but they got me in quick unlike some other locations. I was surprised they did any dental work without scheduling a cleaning so they filled my teeth without me having got a cleaning quite a while... idk seems odd. Anyway, long story short I was misinformed at the office about the fee. They said that they would drop this second fee that I shouldn't have even been getting, but that I still had to pay the other and that they won't reschedule me until then. I was trying to tell them was fine and they kept talking over me as if I was trying to talk them out of giving it to me and the lady was just super disrespectful. I kept asking can I speak? Can I speak? So I simply told them their employees should be better informed and I plan to go elsewhere.

But, due to the excessive wait times, lack of communication from the assistant to the Dr., and the willful ignorance of Dr. West, whose bedside manner and dental techniques make the water-boarding rooms at Guantanamo Bay seem like a pleasant field trip, my wife had to endure this nightmare for yet a third time. She has been to many dentists in the area, and has even had little to no anesthesia for some of her 7 extractions over the years. In her own words, just the administering of the Novocaine felt like her gums were being sliced. She speaks from experience. 7-10 fillings, 5+ removals of mercury fillings for porcelain, 7 extractions (5 at once) for 3 years worth of braces as an adult, wisdom teeth removed with a local. This simple filling and on-lay was the worst pain shes ever felt during and after any dental procedure shes ever had. The doctor did not communicate what he was doing during the procedures, did not at any time give her an opportunity to rinse nor did he ever let he know that there was a rinsing station, and as soon as the procedure was over on both visits he just walked out the door without saying a word. This all started as a quest for a new dentist, one that's closer to home and offers a wider range of services from one office. During the initial consultation he said what he knew he had to say in order to earn our trust and business, but things changed on the second visit when he gave my wife two choices. And when she chose the least expensive route he became visibly agitated and took his frustrations out on my wife. So if you enjoy catching a virus from the assistant who has "allergies" and swallowing your own blood for $1200 then this is the dentist for you. By the way, there were no chocolate chip cookies as some people have claimed.

Due to a scheduling conflict, I took my young grandkids to their appointments today instead of…read moretheir parents. I was very impressed with the entire practice. From the receptionist who greeted the kids when we walked in, to the hygienists, to the dentist, everyone was warm, welcoming, and great with the kids. Having a room that can accommodate up to 3 patients at a time meant that both kids could be seen simultaneously, which limited our wait time. Being in the same room with both kids during their cleaning and check-up made me feel comfortable as well. (When my kids were little I had to choose which child to be with.) I was really pleased with the practice and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful pediatric dental practice.
