Dr Koe is a Rockstar! Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until after I visited another orthopedic center that was horrible, but the experience did give me a crystal-clear comparison between a patient mill that treats people as "procedures and parts", their words, and a real Dr. of compassion, professionalism and skill. I was lucky enough to have a friend that Dr. Koe had done a knee replacement for and when I told him about my experience having my shoulder looked at by the aforementioned collection of assembly line imbeciles, he sent me to Dr. Koe and Green Valley Orthopedics. With the exception of Dr. Koe's receptionist, who I am willing to look past due to the exceptional care given by the rest of the office, the experience was such a breath of fresh air! Dr. Koe was able to use the MRI that had been ordered previously, he patiently went through each of the items discovered in the MRI, (full thickness tear of the supraspinatus, torn labrum and osteoarthrosis) and what those discoveries meant in the real world, in terms that a layman like me could understand. He has an excellent bedside manner, and it became abundantly clear that he was genuinely interested in making sure that after my surgery I would be able to participate in the activities that were important to me. His billing and support staff did a great job explaining the costs of all elements of the surgery, which allowed me to look at my out of pocket costs and be prepared for them. Dr. Koe reattached my supraspinatus, repaired 2 tears in my labrum and cleaned up the joint all in one shot. My recovery went as expected and I am back to golfing, pickleball, lifting weights and I can actually throw a ball again without feeling like I'm going to pee my pants! I have been a patient of Dr Koe for 17 plus years and I have been happy. The issue is with his front office staff. Unfortunately, with my insurance change I have go to another orthopedic. I wanted my medical records for surgery done more then 7 years ago, but I am having such a difficult time to retrieve it. Dr Koe's office only keep records for 7 years per NV law, which I understand, but my frustration is that they cannot help/suggest how I can get it. Brooke, at the front desk is very rude and her excuse is that she was not there at that time so she has no idea where the surgery was performed!! Really! I told her to ask Dr Koe, coz I know he will def have records. She refused and said she thinks he use to perform at seven hill hospital and googled to give me a no. On calling I found out it's a rehab center not surgery center. Called her back & she said it's seven hills surgery center and once again googled a no for me. By then she was getting very agitated and told me that I was being rude , when I told her to find out the no from DrKoe instead of googling it. Iimagine that! She would not let me talk to an orthopedist office manager nor was she Interested to ask Dr Koe. So I took the no that she found on google and before I hung up I asked her to have the office manager call me. Guess what the no is no good because when I googled for seven hills surgery center centre a message pops up stating "THEY ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED" Now how did she not see that when she googled it!!! Now I have no means to get my old surgery report, which I need to show my current orthopedic, as I am having issues and the current orthopedic wanted to know what did Dr Koe repair on my shoulder then. I don't know how to go about this. I have read that other patients have a lot of issues with the office employees and I guess I am realising these issues as I am not Dr koe's patient anymore. I would have appreciated if the office manager would have contacted me and tried to help with this matter. When the office employees do not do their job it gives a bad impression on Dr Koe. Dr. Ronald Koe is the best orthopedic surgeon. He listens and he also does excellent follow up. He and his staff are completely trustworthy. He did my left knee replacement in September 2013 and my right knee replacement in July 2025. I really like the CPM Machine he recommends for use for four weeks following the surgery. I recovered more quickly and completely using the CPM Machine than others I met in Physical Therapy who did not have the use of the CPM. read more

I was referred to Dr. Koe by my primary care doctor for treatment of a knee injury. While I thought Dr. Koe had a pleasant bedside manner his office staff has been a different story completely. The woman who does the surgery scheduling was cold and unfriendly. She never looked up from her computer screen to make eye contact me, and she lacked an empathetic and caring demeanor. The woman who handles billing called me regarding an issue with my insurance company and, while I had her on the phone, I questioned my financial responsibility for the surgery (the second time I had asked someone at the office for this information). When I explained that I needed an approximate amount for budgeting, the woman replied, "I just don't understand why you waited until now to ask." I wound up getting a second opinion for peace of mind and the new physician recommended starting with a much more conservative approach. I've decided to start 6 weeks of physical therapy in hopes that I'll be back to running without so much discomfort soon. All I have to lose is 6 weeks and if it means not going under for a knee scope, I'd say it's worth it. I wish Dr. Koe would have at least discussed this option with me, even if it wasn't - in his professional opinion - the best approach. Some positive observations: the office is very clean. X-rays are done on premise and the x-ray tech was very nice. The idea of surgery can cause anxiety and worry in patients and, in this regard, a sincere smile and a little empathy goes a long way. I probably shouldn't write Dr. Koe off because of his staff but, with something as important as surgery, I want to feel comfortable with the whole team... this just wasn't the right fit. read more

I was told by nurses, and staff at St. Rose hospital that they choose Dr. Koe over other Orthopedic Doctor's in the area when it comes to Orthopedic's . On 10-16-2019 I had a total knee replacement with Dr. Koe at St. Rose Hospital. Two weeks later I'm up and walking without any assistance of a walker, or assistance of any kind. One of the worst doctor's that ever 'treated' me. Koe knew that I had pre--existing knee issues. As long as I rec'd Synvisk-1 injections once or twice a year, my knees were pain-free. Koe knew all of this. I had an appt with KOE to inject my knees with the Synvisk-1 serum. I was waiting in the exam room on the exam table waiting for KOE to enter the room. Instead, a person I NEVER MET before rushed into the room and was about to inject my knee within 15 secs of entering the room. This was Steve Olenchak (PA). I told him, to hold on. Where is KOE ? I was told, KOE was busy. I should have walked out and re-scheduled. This serum is $2,500 a shot. My co-pay was $500 for 2 injections. The serum has to stay cold, all the time. I wanted to put my legs up on the exam table with a 'bolster' under my knees to keep my knees from moving. Steve wanted my legs hanging over the side of the table. Steve would not budge ! Steve did NOT use fluoroscopy, even though the machine was in the back corner of the room. Any good Dr. or PA using a machine to guide the needle into the very small space of the knee - the knee joint. Steve used his FINGERS to guide the Synvisk-1 injections. STEVE missed the first injection and severely injured my left knee. I told him, the injection was hurting. Steve continued to inject. Rushed to my right knee and used his FINGERS to guide the needle. This injection hurt more. I told him that the injection was hurting. It did not get thru to his head, what I was saying. Steve and the female assistant who stood 3 feet away and watched, both walked out of the room, after I had told Steve that I was in a lot of pain. Both my knees were hurting and I could not bend either knee to get off the exam table. As I walked to the waiting room, I had to hold onto the walls. I sat in the waiting room in pain. I have had these injections in the past 4 years and the injections did not hurt. I called my So Cal pain mgt dr and informed him what happened. I was informed, that the PA screwed up and injected my Fat Pads right next to my knee joints with BOTH injections. I was informed that BOTH injections were wasted. The serum would NOT work its way into my knee joints. I would have to re-do BOTH injections. I was told that my extreme knee pain would last 10 to 14 days. The extreme pain last for 12 days. I could not ben my knees. I called KOE's office to let him know that the PA screwed up - Big Time. The recpt. named Spring called my cell phone a few days later to say this : If my knee pain continues, surgical intervention would be necessary !!! KOE's RECPT calling me and insisting I have double knee surgery. When all I needed was 2 injections into my KNEE JOINTS - not the Fat Pads. I could not find a dr in Henderson or Ls Vegas to inject Synvisk-1, so I booked hotel stays back in So Cal. to have my former pain mgt dr inject the $5,000 serum PROPERLY into my both knees. A 5 hr trip back to CA with my sick dog. My former CA dr brought me into his procedure room. Had the fluoroscopy machine wheeled above me to guide the needles into the knee joints. The procedure lasted nearly 30 minutes. KOE's assistant was done in 5 mins. I had to wait 2 months to make my trip back to CA to get on the procedure schedule and my wonderful health insurance company was told how KOE's PA SCREWED up and they paid another $5k to OPTUM to have the serum mailed to CA to my pain mgt dr. After some time, both my knees were feeling better. I made an appt to see KOE. I wanted him to pay for my hotel stays in CA and for me having to pay another $500 to obtain 2 Synvisk-1 serum's. I was not even looking for gas money or for the trouble of driving 5 hours with my bad back. KOE did not have the balls to come into the exam room. I had all my paper work to show him my bills, that I wanted him to pay. Instead the PA came into the room. KOE refused to pay for my expenses. KOE wanted to do shoulder surgery on my LV per sitter in 2019. She is a retired L.V.P.O. She went to another doc who sent her to PT. She was better in 3 months time. KOE SEES PEOLE AS HIS MEAL TKT. I would like to say we met Dr. Koe and can give a 5 start review. We never got a chance. His office staff is unreasonable, rude, and do not listen. Jill, was so rude. She would not listen and could not understand that we have 3 insurances that cover all aspects of a visit. A basic insurance which pays for Doctor's visit at $0 charge and 2 independent insurances that pay for everything else including X-rays, surgery, etc. Jill made the decision that we should not come to their office because they could not ensure payment. Came here after a botched healing process from another Vegas ortho. I had a pretty bad patella break that was still not healed 9 months later. My GP referred me to him after having his own knee worked on by Dr. Koe. The staff here is wonderful! The ladies that work in the front and assist Dr. Koe in the back office are so nice, patient, and friendly. I had recently switched insurance companies before coming here, and they were quick to help me with the transition and getting all my correct approvals. Dr. Koe is great as well. He diagnosed a lot of other damage that was missed by my previous ortho and sat with me to thoroughly go over the MRI and X-Rays. He also helped me a lot with my pain management regiment. My previous ortho just tried to load me with pills, which is neither safe nor effective. Dr. Koe gave me far better options that did not entail pill popping. He's also very nice, sympathetic, and funny, which makes such a huge difference to someone in pain. I will continue going to see him for my patella fracture. I have the utmost faith that he will do a fantastic job if I do need surgery. Another review to follow if that is the case. read more

I had Dr Koe replace my left knee 7 years ago and he did a good job. So my Right knee started having issues so I went back to see him. After my exam, he said an MRI would be needed. Dr Koe has an MRI in his office. So an appointment was made. I went in this morning and was taken back for the MRI. I am a type one diabetic who uses the Dexcom 6 for constant glucose readings. In addition. I use the Omnipod insulin pump pods. Both are topical and I normally remove them for MRI's. The MRI Tech had to be new as she had no idea what either device was that I used for diabetes control. She was clueless thinking they were under my skin. She told me to remove them and then told me not to after I removed the Dexcom 6. For the next 40 minutes, I clearly heard the tech on the phone asking several different people what she should do. She was on the internet googling up info on the Dexcom 6. She brought me in and showed me the web site she found. It disclosed caution for under the skin devices. I held up the Dexcom 6 and showed her that nothing is left under my skin. She was convinced that metal had to be under my skin. This is so ridiculous and idiotic. I have had over 15 MRI's and never had an issue getting an MRI completed once my pod pump and Dexcom 6 were removed. I was sent away having to get an MRI elsewhere. So I will not be using Dr Koe any longer. I was so frustrated having to start over finding a good doctor. But if Dr Koe is having such poor judgment in hiring clueless techs like the one that was convinced I had metal under my skin. Then perhaps I need to find a doctor with better Judgment altogether. read more

I had a shoulder surgery with him and it went quite well. Had a knee replacement and am disabled for life. He would not even try to fix it. When trying to reach him to try to help or get assistance, his office staff, primarely his daughter threw me out of his office. I had been seeing him for 2 years. I called, they made an appt. for me and then said they didnt have one for me when I arrived. This was 100% their mistake from a new and rude receptionist. I will never be able to work again and truly believe they should have made an effort to accommodate me for this very serious matter. I think Dr. Koe is great. He has done three different surgeries on me, two knees and 1 shoulder. He has never been anything but helpful, caring and professional. I have and continue to ask his advice on what's next for treating my issues. He doesn't rush into surgery being the number one or only option. He is up on the latest technology and shares it in a way that is easy to understand. I trust his judgement and advice and often recommend him without hesitation. As for his staff, I think they are exceptional. They are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They return my phone calls promptly. If it is a question for the Dr. Koe, they relay it to him and always get back to me the same day. I see people of all races in his office and everyone is treated with the same respect. I really don't understand previous comments as to this issue. It just isn't true! He is a good doctor and has a great staff! read more

Stay away from here if you want to question anything you have to pay for! All was good with this practice until I started to ask what my share of the bill would be. When they told me I haven't met my deductible and would have to Pay $2600.00, I had to cancel my surgery (it was more than a month out) because I could afford that much upfront. I also asked if I could get the FMLA and my Prudential paperwork redone without having to pay the $25.00 cost for each ($50.00 total for a stamped signature). I guess asking to make payments on smaller amounts instead of coming up with whole deductible and questioning charges gets you a certified letter from the office dropping you as a client. All I did was question charges, not even go in the office and I get dropped. I guess if I hadn't done so, surgery would still be on and this practice would be much richer. Oh, did I mention that in the fall of last year when I had met my deductible they still tried to charge me copays when I had met my out of pocket maximum.. I had shoulder surgery 20 days ago and I love, love, love Dr. Koe. I had a torn labrum, bones spurs, torn bicep tendon and minor tears in my rotator cuff. I'm a 54 year old active female with no known injury but rather many years of overuse. Dr. Koe is an excellent doctor; he is knowledgable and explained everything to me. If you are looking for quality care, Dr. Koe is your guy. I spent months looking for a surgeon to do my shoulder surgery. I had met Dr. Koe 6 years ago when I had dislocated my shoulder. I did not do the surgery back then and found myself 6 years later with another dislocation and decided I had better do the recommended surgery. I had a few Dr.s highly recommended to me but none of them made me feel as comfortable as Dr. Koe. When I returned to his office for my consult, his staff was very friendly and I had a minimal wait. He took the time to explain my options, what he was going to do and what to expect. He personally called me the following Monday to check on me and when I went for my first post op, had pictures of my surgery showing me the damage and how he repaired it. This Doctor ruined my left shoulder, i can no longer work out or do any physical activities. When he did my surgery he forgot to tighten the anchor to my labrum so therefore i had a plastic anchor piece inside my shoulder that would hurt tremendously. DR koe Completely messed up my labrum repair i was without work for a whole year because i could hardly move my shoulder. Dr koe i hope your reading this because your clinic needs to be shut down, and you need to FIND ANOTHER LINE OF WORK!
