I actually don't even give him one star... To anybody needing an orthopedic surgeon I strongly strongly strongly tell you to never go to Dr. Jeffrey grondel! I needed a rotator cuff surgery which he gave me and completely failed... my shoulder rotator cuff is still torn and I have lost all range of motion... I can no longer lift my arm up or out and I need a shoulder replacement... I am ill longer able to work at my jobs, to do sports, or basically take care of myself in a respectable way... If that isn't bad enough he was arrogant obnoxious I'm kind and rude... I beg you all for your own sake Don't walk out of his office RUN!! If I could give this doctor a zero, I would. He is the worst doctor I have ever seen. He came into the room, berating me for putting weight on my broken patella BEFORE he examined me or took x-rays. Then he said my life is basically on hold for the next 3 months, which included all the holidays. My husband was in the room with me, and immediately said we were getting a second opinion. After talking to my daughter, a doctor, and my niece, a trauma surgeon, they both agreed. He is so bad that he didn't bother putting me on any blood thinners and I ended up with a DVT in my leg. After going to a new doctor, I'm happy to say I was able to be with family for Thanksgiving and then onto The Polar Express, I went to a family wedding in St Thomas, and expect to be with everyone for Christmas. read more

So I thought I would post this review on Dr. Grondal because I posted a review on his actual webpage to warn people about him back in 2016 and for some reason it seems to have "disappeared". In June 2016 I had what should've been a minor outpatient surgery for a meniscal tear on my right knee became a major ordeal. After the outpatient surgery was completed, my leg was wrapped from my hip to my toes and my husband and myself was instructed for me to keep my leg bent, elevated, and not to walk on it. Which in itself seems strange since after that type of surgery you should be walking the next day. After a few days of following the doctor's instructions my leg more than doubled its size and was throbbing in pain. I went back to Dr Grondal's office, he removed the stitches and told me I should be able to walk. I stood up and fell over in a lot of pain. As a precondition he sent me to have an ultrasound done on my leg. Since I have a medical background, I myself was able to see the multiple blood clots in my leg on the ultrasound. I was sent urgently to the emergency room. The doctors in the emergency room had a very hard time finding my pedal pulse, Injected blood thinners in my stomach and through IVs. Next they admitted me to the hospital and ran several more ultrasounds, X-rays and a contrast dye test. They had to mark my foot with a permanent marker where they faintly found a pedal pulse using a baby Doppler. After all the tests they finally found rips/tears in my patella artery which happened when Dr. Grondal fixed my meniscus and was cleaning out arthritis he found on my knee. At that point they tried to sent me to a Dr. in a lab to inject prothrombin to seal up the tears. He did another ultrasound & showed me the tears. He said they were too big to be sealed and if he tried he might actually seal my artery off which would be dangerous. He said ultimately I needed surgery to repair it. The next doctor I met was a venous specialist which told me I Had no other choice but surgery right away or I would have to amputate my leg due to loss of blood to the extremity. As I was being prepped for surgery, I saw Dr Grondal talking to the Venus specialist outside of my surgical room. It made me nervous and scared to see the two doctors huddled up right before I was due for surgery. The venous doctor performed a 3 hour surgery. He explained to me, my husband, and my parents that there were three tears in my artery that he repaired and that is why it took so long. He said that it should've been repaired immediately when the doctor nicked them during the first surgery. After many weeks I had left the hospital to a rehab to learn to use my leg again. It took several months to be able to walk without having to relay on a walker. My leg Remains swollen more than double its size and had lost feeling on the inner part of my leg from the knee to the foot. I was told I probably have permanent nerve damage and may never get the feeling back in my leg. I had a team of lawyers and doctors look through all the medical records to see what the doctor had done. According to them The two doctors had covered for each other in the medical record's by writing that the findings were inconclusive after the repair surgery. Because of this minor surgery that went Extremely wrong, I have been left with a permanent handicap and the Dr.'s record looks great. Absolutely no accountability for what he had done! read more

From start to finish my experience with Dr. Grondel was exceptional. Betsy in his front office is very kind and helpful with lots of personality as is the front desk staff for the other two doctors (Tait and Hoer). Russel and Darlene helped with Xrays and Hiley and Erica helped with vitals and paperwork. They were all very quick, efficient and personable. My appointment was at 1 and by 130 I already had Xrays, all my vitals and paperwork done and I was visiting with Dr. Grondel who didn't rush me at all (my biggest pet peeve with doctors) and has a wonderful bedside manner. He took the time to explain my issue until I fully understood. Everybody I encountered was a joy... and I was in discomfort so that says something. No regrets picking this office or doctor. read more

He saved my livelihood. I couldn't walk after a knee injury or straighten or my knee and was able to get in to see the doctor, get an MRI and then surgery ASAP. I've never had surgery in my whole life so the concert of it was terrifying. Dr Grondel is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I've had 2 shoulder replacements done by him and both times he took his time in deciding to do the surgeries and sought opinions from other respected surgeons due to the complicity of my injury. He takes the time to listen to concerns and questions you may have and he explains things very well and in a simplistic manner when things can get complicated. His nursing staff is absolutely amazing!! They are so friendly and so helpful and you can tell they truly care about you as a patient! read more

Dr. Grondel and his staff are amazing. I've been seeing him for over ten years now. He's helped me with surgical removal of cysts, broken bones and most recently my 16 year old son's MCL surgery from Football. He has high standards for all of his team, they are very profession, courteous and most of all they care so very much for their patients. They go the extra mile to make sure all approvals are in place, help coordinate when they can regarding special screenings and reports needed. Most of all they keep me informed and provide me with all the information needed to have a successful recovery. Doctor G. is one of the best in the valley. Dr grondel has been my surgeon for 2 years. He has evaluated me many times for different injuries and performed surgery on my knee. I would highly recommend him for any sports medicine injury as he is highly educated and doesnt sugar coat the prognosis. His team is just as amazing ! Abby was able to get my medication approved with the insurance quickly before surgery made it a priority. Erika with a K is extremely knowledgeable in her field and makes sure you get the best care possible. Kayla was my surgical nurse she made me feel extremely comfortable going into surgery. I went to Dr. Grondel after my motorcycle accident. And i have to say, it was the best choice i had ever made. Him and his staff are extremely friendly and professional. He communicated all my options with me and we decided that i should have surgery to repair my broken clavical. Plates and screws were placed to fix the issue. I am 6 weeks out of surgery and about to enter into physical therapy and i feel great. His expertise in this field is amazing. I am expecting a full and complete recovery due to his work. I was very active before my accident (weight training, MMA), am confident that i will be able to return to my normal activities soon. I cant thank him and his staff enough. read more

I had to wait two and a half hours for my first appointment. The staffs response was you usually have to wait to see Dr Grondel. My second appointment again 2 hours waiting. A patient in the waiting room said that he has his staff schedule appointments before he is even there while he is checking on patients in the hospital. I was not impressed with him as a Dr or his staff. I do not recommend Dr Grondel unfortunately he is not worth the wait. There are better doctors in Las Vegas to choose from. Also while you wait you will see the staff sitting and playing on their cell phones but, when you call you go straight to a recording that they are busy and will return your call at the end of the day. read more
