The properties we viewed were short sales, uninhabited for months and stuck in legal limbo. Unless we were willing to buy a tumbledown "fixer" in El Sereno, it was looking like the City of Angels was beyond our means. Thankfully, I was referred to Matt Morgus in the eleventh hour by a mutual friend. Unlike the aggressive Downtown hustlers who spent half the time glued to their cell phones, Matt was patient, attentive and committed to finding us something great. Incredibly, he even suggested we rent for a year and explore the market at our own pace. Never once did we feel pressured or outclassed. After a brief search, we found a foreclosure in Los Feliz with a stunning view of the city. Matt guided us through the bidding process, fielded our calls at any hour and expertly navigated the bureaucratic maze. We ended up closing escrow in less than six weeks, right in time for my girlfriend and I to relocate from Brooklyn and Las Vegas. After seven months, we have nothing but praise for the property and the neighborhood. As a delightful bonus, we also made a friend in the process. I can personally vouch for Matt's outstanding character and sincerity, in both his professional and personal life. I've rarely had the pleasure of meeting someone of his moral caliber, let alone in the fiercely competitive, testosterone-fueled world of real estate. With this in mind, I have no hesitation whatsoever recommending his services to anyone looking for a new home in Los Angeles.

Michael is one of the best relators in LA--hands down…read more He is an incredible communicator, negotiator, and agent on behalf of his clients. We met Michael over a year ago, at a craftsman open house where he was filling in for another realtor. My husband had been looking at historic homes on the east side of LA casually over the last 4-5 years and it was immediately clear to us that Michael's in-depth knowledge of historic homes, from both a sales and construction standpoint, was unparalleled. Michael is also imminently thorough and patient. He spent the next year helping us look at homes, showing us 43+ properties. He even switched gears gracefully, when we got cold feet and thought we wanted to rent a new place for the next year before buying. He lined up 3-4 stellar rental properties to show us within a week. Truly exceptional. We kept looking and found our 1st dream home in the San Rafael Hills of Pasadena. (A perfect location for us, as we'd been scouring listings in Highland Park, Glasell Park and Eagle Rock--and our new home is located at the nexus of Pasadena, Eagle Rock and HP.) Michael's exemplary professionalism--his excellent communication, timeliness, and thoroughness--made our negotiation and escrow feel almost easy. (And as a former producer, I know they're most certainly not. It takes a lot of work to make things look that easy.) After getting outbid on a different house, we rolled up our sleeves and doubled down. Thanks to Michael's expertise, we outbid 14 other offers to get our home and thanks to the excellence of his inspections, we managed to get seller's credits even though the house was initially sold "As Is." We had infinite questions as first-time buyers and he was there for us, every step of the way. He did all of this with the utmost professionalism, alacrity and grace. There's no one better than Michael Robleto in LA--and he's a super cool person to boot. Ask him about the many lives he's lived, the many people he's helped, and you'll understand why we'll never sell or buy a future home without him. Lucky LA, lucky Compass, lucky us.
