Perfect food, good service, best BBQ and a lot of different kind of food, best place around Clear Lake area! Highly recommend!

I had the Lakeside salad, it was brought out to me very quickly and was very flavorful with good amount of prawns for the money. The young lady server who took my order made a mistake and put onions on it; however, when I told her about it, she not only accepted responsibility and apologized for the mistake, she also offered me a 10% discount for the error. I believe her attitude was much more professional and courteous than many 20 year veteran servers I have seen and she should be commended for how she dealt with the situation. This young lady has the right attitude for success and her family should be very proud of how she conducted herself. read more

Come hungry, leave full! A lot of food, not a lot of money. We were heading to a wedding at Blue Lakes (just west of Clear Lake) and knew we needed to grab something, so we checked with Yelp and thought, when in Nice go for BBQ! As with most places on the 20, it felt like a locals place: clean, roomy with seating and a decent size bar. Parking is adequate for the small strip center it's in. As soon as we opened the car door, the aroma of slow smoking goodness hit us, hoping it tastes as good as it smells...it did. As this was a late lunch for us, the place had plenty of seating, and we were greeted right away by our server. They were in the middle of changing ownership and for some arcane reason, could not sell beer. No biggie. Lots of great choices on the menu, so we opted for the tri-tip and brisket sandwich (2 separate items). The meals came out quick and we tucked in. The sandwiches are really good size and come with BBQ sauce and a side. We opted for mac and cheese as well as tri-tip chili. The meat on both sandwiches were moist and full of smokey flavor. Just needed a little bit of sauce. Overall flavor was very good and the prices are silly low for what you get. So good in fact, we came back the next morning for breakfast. Did I mention a lot of tasty food for not a lot of dough? We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Mendocino! read more

We have travelled to many places in search of good bbq. This place made our Top 3. Easy to access if traveling the CA-20. My husband LOVED his brisket sandwich and garlic fries. I am pretty sure he moaned with every bite. The smoke flavor was superb and the sauces were delicious. Friendly and prompt service. Clean restrooms. We overlooked water while sitting outside. It was a great experience and affordable. read more

Romi's Brew & BBQ - Tri tip salad and Brisket sandwich. - Barbeque Near Me - Nice, California

5 Star!!! Stopped by Romi's a few weeks ago ! We walked in the door and were immediately greeted! We decided to just grab some nachos at the bar. We sat down and were greeted again! The restaurant was crowded (always a good sign) and were immediately assisted, menus were provided, and we had our drinks within 5 minutes. There is an extensive bar selection, many daily specials and a varied menu. We reviewed the menu and ordered Loaded Nachos. They were some of the best nachos I have ever had !! ... The food was excellent and I can't wait to come back to try additional items. EVERYTHING looks great. OK but here is what the best part of the restaurant was... The Customer service. We went in and were immediately greeted, immediately assisted, the servers were Kind, Friendly and Accommodating ... AND there were only 2 waitstaff working that day. You did not have to wait, they did not come across as "too busy", they were incredibly nice and accomodating .. the servers should give out classes in what it is to be a great server. THEY will bring me back !! read more

Brisket was cold but Mac and cheese was delicious - would go back for convenience and it was fine. I wasn't expecting anything super gourmet for the price. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch on a holiday as we passed through town to try this place out. We found that with only one waitress working it took a little longer to get seated, drinks and to place our order. She was very friendly, just busy. We got the shredded chicken sandwich and a brisket sandwich, both where okay just not the best we have had. You could tell that thy had been sitting around for awhile and where the bottom picks of meat because they where dried out and chewy. Otherwise it was a nice place. read more

Took the family here for an outdoor weekend lunch. The loaded nachos were definitely a hit. The western chicken salad was large and filling, and my teenage son Thought his burger was the best meal he's ever eaten. IPA fans: they have Pliny the Elder on tap! Very reasonable prices. Waitstaff was terrific. read more

This place used to be so good, but now it's under new management and it's honestly one of the worst joints I've been too. Maybe they were just having a bad night but the past two times I've come have been a bad experience. The first time the food wasn't good, very dry, no seasoning, but fast service. The last time I went service was very slow, we didn't get napkins until we were half way through our food, the bread was soggy, and our server was a minor which was very uncomfortable. This place used to be amazing but honestly it's not worth the stop anymore. read more

Fantastic spot for BBQ! Extensive menu from burgers to sandwiches to bbq dinners, pasta & salads too! We stopped in on our way to Fort Bragg. Had the pulled pork sandwich, black bean burger, Rini's burger, & Black Bart wrap. Everything was very tasty & filling. There are 4 different types of sauces on the table to try, my favorite was the the homemade habanero bbq sauce. Highly recommend stopping in. Just a note that right now they're only open til 8pm, not 9pm as listed on Yelp. read more

Disappointing. Dispute having a Blue Moin sign in the window, they no longer have Blue Moon beer. But worse than that, the bartender (also waitress) cleared a dinner table then dipped a used napkin into a used glass of water (I saw the customer drink direct from the glass) then proceeded to wash the table with the wet napkin. . Certainly NOT Covid safe. Furthermore her mask was under her nose. read more

Romi's Brew & BBQ - No more Blue Moon dispute sign in the window. Waitress wet a napkin from a customer used water glass to "clean" the table. Ughhhh. - Barbeque Near Me - Nice, California

The best bbq on the lake by far. The brisket is amazing and the beer selection is acceptable. Outdoor and indoor seating is available . I have been there over 5 times and it's never been too busy. Always get a table upon arrival. The chili is also a great option for a side. read more

I've gotten ribs at Romi's several times and this is the way it went: First time I went with a group of friends and it was excellent. The next time I went and got ribs to go, it was great food. The third time I went and got food to go, it was not good at all. My husband didn't want to go back there again, but I said let's give it another try. We went again for lunch and sat down at noon and were told that they didn't have any ribs ready to eat, even though they were open for lunch, so we left. This last time I went and bought $30.00 (I'm on a fixed income as a senior citizen) for a side of ribs, I got home and it was ends and all the ribs were fatty and grizzle. These ribs were not edible and it was such a disappointment. It was a stretch for me to spend that kind of money for food and it makes me feel really robbed. We will not go there again. read more

We were attracted to this restaurant because the bbq aroma smelled delicious. Also the food dishes seemed so plentiful as the waitress brought plates out. We have never been so disappointed. The fries were so covered in batter that they tasted like fried batter and nothing else. My chicken leg portion was so overcooked I could not cut into it or bite into it. It was completely dried out. My husband bbq sandwich felt like the meat had been soaking in sauce for a week so was quite soggy. read more

We been wanting to try this place for bbq to compare Danny's in Lower Lake. Their bbq sandwich seem a lil cheaper at 9.99 for tri tip and brisket. So I ordered the brisket and you have a choice of sides either fries, mac n cheese, tri tip chili beans. I had the fries and plus I ordered a 16 oz side of trip tip chili beans. My order came and seem the bread was already greasy. The meat is kinda bland and lack of seasoning. They put the point part of the brisket so I have some of the fat part of the brisket. The fries are soft but warm and the chili is meh. It taste like refried beans with some shredded pieces of meat. It is not even close of a chili. My co worker had fish and chips and it was mediocre. The fish was all covered with thick batter. read more

So this was my 2nd time at Romi's. Sarah, a beautiful, spunky waitress took my order. I described what I had last time and she told me what it was. I was in absolute anticipation for the Lakehouse Big Dipper Tri-Tip Sandwich served with Au Jus Sauce. It was loaded with thenly sliced, tender tri-tip, mushrooms, pepers, onions and melted cheese. And the Garlic Fries are some of the best around. I was not disappointed. If you are traveling through Nice, California, you should definitely stop by! read more

This area is so beautiful but we found restaurant service in the area is lacking. But then we went to Romi's Brew & BBQ... And our vacation changed. It was found by accident by my father-in-law, and what a happy accident it was. From the out side it looks questionable. But let me tell you... maybe the best food I've ever had! We where able to make a reservation for 6 online the day of. We where greated friendly and seated promptly. Our food came out quickly. And when I say I have never been served a bigger, more deliciously savory plate of food in my life I mean it! Our awesome server Roman did an amazing job while still working the rest of the restaurant.. Screw the lake... we are coming back for ROMI'S read more

I agree with points on some of these other reviews. I liked that it was a classic BBQ joint with a very Latin style that feels organic and influenced by staff and ownership. We got takeout from here. The ribs I got we're quite good; tender, sizable, lean with great bark on them. Our order didn't come with sauce but it didn't really need it as the flavors were on point, which I feel is a sign of better BBQ. My partner loved the birria and biscuits and gravy. The brisket was well smoked but it was more a pile of meat with tons of fat to sift through. They forgot to include a salad we had ordered. Prices were pretty comparable to other BBQ. read more

Romi's Brew & BBQ - Brisket and fries with blue moon! Delicious! - Barbeque Near Me - Nice, California

so i had a few "not good" experiences here on my last visit, but the current sich is a 180 from that. i ordered the brisket dinner and it was delicious! but what was even better was the fantastic service!!! if you want a solid meat-gasm, Romis checks the boxes. great beers on tap, great food, and FAST service. i would love to see an expanded menu with a few different dinner options that cater to the sample crowd, but no complaints when i get a plate full of smoked meats! fantastic redemption Romi's from my previous experience!!! read more

We (6 of us) walked here from our vacation rental. I have been one other time. The staff gets 5 stars! I orderd a tri-tip salad and the others were a mix of garlic fries, philly cheese steak and chicken strips. They loved their food. I asked for medium and was delivered dry/tough not medium. I let the server know and she explained what might have happened (meat is smoked and just got over heated). She quickly delivered 4 additional strips of the most juicy and tender steak! Yum. My only issue was the flies. Not sure what was going on, maybe because it was 105 outside? We survived and left full. read more

While staying in Upper Lake, I was hoping to find a place to have dinner without traveling very far. We ended up in Nice. The pickings were slim, so I took a chance at Romi's. We were greeted by a super friendly server, and were happy to learn we could bring our pup with us if we dined outside. We ordered a beer on tap and a bottled sparkling water while we perused the menu. There were flies everywhere, likely because the meat smokers were located close to the dining patio. Our server brought a small container of water with ice in it for our pup. While we were deciding, she was kind enough to let us know a party of 10 had just walked in - in case we were ready to order. We decided on a John Wayne Burger with coleslaw and a Tri Tip Salad. My husband felt his burger was just "alright", but I personally enjoyed the Tri Tip Salad. The meat was smoked and had fantastic flavor. The crunch of the bell peppers paired with the sweetness of the dried cranberries adorned with vinaigrette made for great flavor. Fantastic salad! This place is a bit of a dive, but I can vouch for their smoked meats. read more

Customer service is excellent and prompt. I don't care for smoked meat but they have an extensive menu where both my husband (he loves the smoked taste) and myself can be satisfied.I would recommend the fettuccine with shrimp. Also the nachos are really good ( I have the meat separate), read more

Every one at the table received cold food. Brisket was dry. Loaded baked potato came cold with only cold sour cream. Soup came cold without a spoon. Requests for a spoon were ignored. No need of seven people was happy. Waiter forgot my beer order and had to be asked twice to bring it. We all agree the beer was the only thing that was okay. read more

The place has solid food and beer, though everything is in the fried or meat category. The area is super sketch, though. There were some homeless guys yelling from behind the place, and the back faces some sort of abandoned and drained marina that is just full of sludge and algae. This might be the source of the fly problem. read more

The food is awesome and the staff are friendly but the fly issue inside is crazy. Might just be high fly season.

Sadly, it used to be a lot better. The eggs were very greasy!! They did not have any wings for a few days. The rib meat is delicious once you take the fat off. I will check back again when I am in the area. read more

So happy we found this spot while vacationing just around the corner in Lakeport. Originally we were looking for a place that served lunch and drinks (kind of hard to find outside of the casinos). Upon getting here we discovered not only do they serve lunch and dinner, they serve breakfast as well. So we decided to come back the next day for breakfast and mimosas(the only breakfast place we could find that serves mimosas). Best decision of the day! The food all around is incredible, drinks are great and service is wonderful. It's also a comfortable atmosphere with friendly patrons as well; Everything we look for in a good local hangout spot. Come hungry because the portions are generous! read more

Spent the day up on north shore and I've always wanted to try try this place. The service is super friendly and their prices are great for the amount of food you get. We got there during happy house so we tried the spicy nachos. Pretty damn spicy but just as good. Our waitress said the make the cheese sauce and it was delicious. I got the brisket, smoked chicken and added a pork rib. Way too much food but It was fun to try it all. The dinner also came with Mac and cheese, chili and corn on the cob. All the sides were really great. I wouldn't get the brisket again though. It was more of a super long cooked pot roast then a bbq brisket. Chunks not sliced. The only other draw back was the house bbq sauce, I hope they try another recipe because the current one wasn't that great. With that said I like a vinegar based sauce. But on the other hand this bbq really didn't need sauce and that in my mind is the mark of great bbq. BEST BBQ'd chicken I've ever had! Super juicy! We will be back soon! read more

First time here and I couldn't be more impressed with the customer service and the phenomenal food. From the time we ordered the food, no more than 10 minutes went by. We're new to lake county and stopped in Romi's bbq on our way to pick up minnows for fishing. Pretty good food and quick and friendly service. I had the tri tip dinner plate- for $14 it's a ton of food! The tri tip was delicious and the most tender I've ever had. We also tried pork ribs and chicken, ribs were flavorful and chicken was moist with a strong smoky flavor. Their only bbq sauce was ok but I like a more tangy bbq sauce so I wish they had a couple more options. All in all I'm glad we stopped in and will be back to try more! read more

Romi's Brew & BBQ - My tri tip dinner plate w/mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and all dinners come w/garlic bread and corn - Barbeque Near Me - Nice, California

We stayed at a nearby lakefront property for the Labor Day weekend, and Romi's was literally a 5min walk. So we stopped here for our first night's dinner. The outdoor seating was very pleasant even though it had been over 90deg that day. The food was enjoyed by all - even two picky kids. I had the fish sandwich because I'd never had one made with Red Snapper before. Very tasty and they said they also use this for their fish & chips. Also, they have a good draft selection of local brews that I was impressed with. Finally, they are really making their BBQ outside in a for-real pit. If you pass by in the morning, you'll smell the ribs & brisket smoking and it will be hard to wait until dinner time to stop in again! read more
