I was in absolute anticipation for the Lakehouse Big Dipper Tri-Tip Sandwich served with Au Jus Sauce. It was loaded with thenly sliced, tender tri-tip, mushrooms, pepers, onions and melted cheese. This area is so beautiful but we found restaurant service in the area is lacking. But then we went to Romi's Brew & BBQ... And our vacation changed. It was found by accident by my father-in-law, and what a happy accident it was. From the out side it looks questionable. But let me tell you... maybe the best food I've ever had! We where able to make a reservation for 6 online the day of. We where greated friendly and seated promptly. Our food came out quickly. Fantastic spot for BBQ! Extensive menu from burgers to sandwiches to bbq dinners, pasta & salads too! We stopped in on our way to Fort Bragg. Had the pulled pork sandwich, black bean burger, Rini's burger, & Black Bart wrap. Everything was very tasty & filling. There are 4 different types of sauces on the table to try, my favorite was the the homemade habanero bbq sauce. Highly recommend stopping in. I agree with points on some of these other reviews. I liked that it was a classic BBQ joint with a very Latin style that feels organic and influenced by staff and ownership. We got takeout from here. The ribs I got we're quite good; tender, sizable, lean with great bark on them. Our order didn't come with sauce but it didn't really need it as the flavors were on point, which I feel is a sign of better BBQ. My partner loved the birria and biscuits and gravy. The brisket was well smoked but it was more a pile of meat with tons of fat to sift through. They forgot to include a salad we had ordered. Prices were pretty comparable to other BBQ. read more

We been wanting to try this place for bbq to compare Danny's in Lower Lake. Their bbq sandwich seem a lil cheaper at 9.99 for tri tip and brisket. So I ordered the brisket and you have a choice of sides either fries, mac n cheese, tri tip chili beans. I had the fries and plus I ordered a 16 oz side of trip tip chili beans. My order came and seem the bread was already greasy. The meat is kinda bland and lack of seasoning. They put the point part of the brisket so I have some of the fat part of the brisket. The fries are soft but warm and the chili is meh. It taste like refried beans with some shredded pieces of meat. It is not even close of a chili. My co worker had fish and chips and it was mediocre. We were greeted by a super friendly server, and were happy to learn we could bring our pup with us if we dined outside. We ordered a beer on tap and a bottled sparkling water while we perused the menu. There were flies everywhere, likely because the meat smokers were located close to the dining patio. Our server brought a small container of water with ice in it for our pup. While we were deciding, she was kind enough to let us know a party of 10 had just walked in - in case we were ready to order. We decided on a John Wayne Burger with coleslaw and a Tri Tip Salad. My husband felt his burger was just "alright", but I personally enjoyed the Tri Tip Salad. The meat was smoked and had fantastic flavor. The crunch of the bell peppers paired with the sweetness of the dried cranberries adorned with vinaigrette made for great flavor. Fantastic salad! We (6 of us) walked here from our vacation rental. I have been one other time. The staff gets 5 stars! I orderd a tri-tip salad and the others were a mix of garlic fries, philly cheese steak and chicken strips. They loved their food. I asked for medium and was delivered dry/tough not medium. I let the server know and she explained what might have happened (meat is smoked and just got over heated). She quickly delivered 4 additional strips of the most juicy and tender steak! Yum. Every one at the table received cold food. Brisket was dry. Loaded baked potato came cold with only cold sour cream. Soup came cold without a spoon. Requests for a spoon were ignored. So happy we found this spot while vacationing just around the corner in Lakeport. Originally we were looking for a place that served lunch and drinks (kind of hard to find outside of the casinos). Upon getting here we discovered not only do they serve lunch and dinner, they serve breakfast as well. So we decided to come back the next day for breakfast and mimosas(the only breakfast place we could find that serves mimosas). Best decision of the day! Spent the day up on north shore and I've always wanted to try try this place. The service is super friendly and their prices are great for the amount of food you get. We got there during happy house so we tried the spicy nachos. Pretty damn spicy but just as good. Our waitress said the make the cheese sauce and it was delicious. I got the brisket, smoked chicken and added a pork rib. Way too much food but It was fun to try it all. The dinner also came with Mac and cheese, chili and corn on the cob. All the sides were really great. I wouldn't get the brisket again though. It was more of a super long cooked pot roast then a bbq brisket. Chunks not sliced. The only other draw back was the house bbq sauce, I hope they try another recipe because the current one wasn't that great. With that said I like a vinegar based sauce. We're new to lake county and stopped in Romi's bbq on our way to pick up minnows for fishing. Pretty good food and quick and friendly service. I had the tri tip dinner plate- for $14 it's a ton of food! The tri tip was delicious and the most tender I've ever had. We also tried pork ribs and chicken, ribs were flavorful and chicken was moist with a strong smoky flavor. Their only bbq sauce was ok but I like a more tangy bbq sauce so I wish they had a couple more options. All in all I'm glad we stopped in and will be back to try more! read more

We stayed at a nearby lakefront property for the Labor Day weekend, and Romi's was literally a 5min walk. So we stopped here for our first night's dinner. The outdoor seating was very pleasant even though it had been over 90deg that day. The food was enjoyed by all - even two picky kids. I had the fish sandwich because I'd never had one made with Red Snapper before. Very tasty and they said they also use this for their fish & chips. Also, they have a good draft selection of local brews that I was impressed with. Finally, they are really making their BBQ outside in a for-real pit. We have seen Romi's several times as we passed by on Hwy 20. We finally had occasion to stay in Nice and Romi's was recommended to us by our B&B hosts. The first thing we noticed was the smell of the smoker - subliminal advertising at its best! Inside, we were greeted by friendly staff. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich (his with BBQ sauce, mine without) and Romi's Blonde Ale. The meat was smoked to perfection. The soft bun was toasted lightly and held up well. I have been really disappointed lately. The last 3 times has been really bad. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were awful. It was more like a old bak potato that they scooped out and just smashed a little. Then on My birthday I was going to order dinner.
