    Heart Shaped Pizza
    Jen W.

If you're in the Manalapan area near Rt. 33 and looking for some delicious Italian food, look no further than Romeo's Pizza. This restaurant has it all: amazing red sauce, great salad dressing, friendly staff, and some of the best pizza in the area. One of the things that sets Romeo's Pizza apart from other restaurants is their amazing red sauce. It's rich, flavorful, and perfectly complements any pasta or pizza dish you might order. I usually get the Chicken Parm dinner or pizza, and I love adding meatballs to my pizza too. The pies are XL and huge compared to other pizza places in the area. The staff is always friendly and efficient, even on busy Friday and Saturday nights when the place is packed with to-go orders. Despite the crowds, they always manage to get people in and out quickly. One thing I particularly love about Romeo's Pizza is that they offer heart-shaped pizzas on Valentine's Day. It's such a fun and unique way to celebrate the holiday with your loved ones, and my family absolutely loved it when we ordered one. This place is a go-to for me and never disappoints.

Disgusting, watery, greasy and tasteless! Vodka sauce is horrible! A 1st and a last. Note the photos of how my ordered was delivered. Never again

    Cauliflower crust veggie pizza, delicious
    Laura L.

I found myself dying for one of the cauliflower crust veggie pizzas! It was so delicious I had to eat a slice in the car. It would take me hours to cut that many vegetables and make a pizza and it could never be as delicious as it is from Romeos!

I don't know what happen to this place but it is going down hill fast ... forget that the pasts sauce had more water in then my glass. That could be a new person just don't know they have to drain pasts before plating... but when I order pizza and ask the person for EXTRA well done and they write on the ticket and get a half cooked soggy pizza for the 2nd time .. just need to find a new place .. if you order from here don't waste your time asking for your pizza the way you want it cause your not going to it !

I took some photos of my slices and also the new menu so we will be ready to enjoy Brooklyn Square for years to come. I am not a fan…read moreof the 'Brooklyn Square' spumoni gardens style.... but those who do like it think that theirs is great. However, my kids and I usually love the Chicken Grippo Pizza - a thin crust with vodka sauce, mozzarella and chicken. We ordered one this past saturday. Very disappointed. First, the crust is just gross. The bottom layer is coming off the crust. Do they cook these in advance and freeze them? Plus while the chicken, cheese and sauce are very good - they do not cover the whole pizza - it is very uneven with some of the corners having 50% of the slice uncovered - just a dry gross crust. They have raised the price of the pizza and has gone down in quality. Meanwhile - they are pretty busy. Call them on Friday night and they will tell you an hour or 2 hour wait for pickup. They are opening up a new place near me on rt 520/rt 79. I hope whatever we try there is better than what I got this weekend. Otherwise, I won't be ordering.

With a massive menu that truly has something for everyone, Mannino's delivers incredible food, next-level service, and unbeatable value. Honestly? It's a solid 11 on a 1- 10 scale! Let's talk service. It was nothing short of spectacular. Co-owners Vito and Jose run the dining room with such precision, warmth, and genuine care that you feel like a VIP the entire time. Their attention to detail is unreal, and watching them keep everything running flawlessly in a bustling, fast-paced environment is seriously impressive. And the food... my goodness, the food! These are classic Italian recipes passed down through generations, but what truly makes Mannino's shine is the quality of their ingredients. You can taste it in every bite -- rich flavors, perfect textures, and this unmistakable touch of culinary magic. It's the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite and say, "This is something special." If you haven't been to Mannino's yet, go. Don't walk -- run. It was a quiet Monday, President's Day, late afternoon and coming back from a road trip. Brooklyn Square was the perfect pit stop! We had some pizza, some pasta and some salad and it was all really good. Our server highly recommended sandwich #17 and it was so good. I would have never ordered a grilled shrimp panini - - but this one was loaded with shrimp, avocado, broccoli rabe and fresh mozz -- SO GOOD - - definitely try that one! Service was also very good. Our server had so much patience - - it's hard to decide on an order because everything is so good! There's a reason Dave Portnoy gave Brooklyn Square a 8.9 rating - - the signature "upside down" pizza is so good. (Cheese on the bottom, sauce on the top). It's actually hard to even pick one slice - - so you'll have to go back and try other ones. My husband loves the eggplant rollatini....breaded eggplant rolled with ricotta, spinach, roasted red peppers with mozz on top - -that brings him back to Brooklyn Square every time! There are also quite a few other locations - Manalapan, Toms River, Bradley Beach, and the new Shrewsbury restaurant. I can't wait for them to open up their Marlboro location!

One hell of a restaurant. By all accounts, a seasonally driven, high-end Italian spot taking 11pm reservations on a Saturday shouldn't exist, let alone thrive, off Route 33. But La Lupa defies the odds and delivers a full-on sucker punch to your taste buds. After finally landing a birthday reservation, my wife and I grabbed a great bottle (thank G-d for BYOB) and made the trip to a place everyone we know has been hyping. Even though our table wasn't ready, La Lupa made an immediate impression: warm welcome, offered to pour our wine while we waited, easy conversation, genuine interest. It set the tone for what might be the best hospitality I've ever experienced. Once seated at the chef's counter, our server walked us through the menu and delivered the specials with as much detail and passion as a thespian recites Hamlet's "To Be or Not To Be". Here's how the meal shook out: Market Crudo (Salmon) - Not traditionally Italian, but the fatty salmon with yuzu and soy was bright, balanced, and a perfect opener. Roman Gnocchi -Heavenly. Full Stop. If Helen's face could launch 1000 ships, this single dish would send the rest of the Greek army to battle. A gnocchi made without potatoes and the perfect elevation of what originally was a peasant dish into something sublime and worthy of a James Beard award. The umami from the mushrooms and brown butter combined with the soft pillowy texture of the semolina dumpling is exquisite and I already know will be one of the best bites I will have all year and its' only April. Tonelli - Leek-forward to a fault. After the gnocchi, this fell flat. The concept is there, but the pasta skewed undercooked and the dish needed something to tie it together. Skirt Steak - A Snake River Farm piece of meat grilled over a binchotan grill...don't mind if I do. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, the chef was able to respect the protein and highlight the beautiful marbling that makes this cut so yumcious. Brussels Sprouts - Not officially a thing (yet), but these should be called Italian Kung Pao sprouts. Hazelnuts for crunch, agrodolce for sweet tang, perfectly cooked. It works. Cacio e Pepe Potatoes - Crisp at dinner but needed more sauce. Reheated, they softened but the flavor came through more. Jury's still out. Was every dish flawless? No. It ranged from good to exceptional. But the service? Bar none, one of the best I've ever had. They've nailed a rare balance: food that could hold its own in a stuffy, pretentious dining room, paired with service that feels like your favorite neighborhood bar. I dropped a napkin--before I could react, it was replaced. Wine was decanted and poured without asking. The staff matched my energy, diving as deep into food talk as I wanted, clearly as excited as we were. If the T-Birds from Grease went into hospitality, this is what it would look like. You can't fake that kind of passion. Most places you try once and return for the service. At La Lupa, you come back for both. We already booked our return visit for our anniversary.
