Came in for a 105,000 mile servicing & full inspection & lord was this place proactive in the hospitality! The head mechanic Gene proactively went above & beyond to make sure I was taken care of even though I was a first time customer. Super genuine individual, honest, doesn't cut any corners & won't waste your time with BS. Gives you pricing options to work with, shows you difference between cheap, affordable & premium items, is interactive with the customer & actively tries to help the individual understand the diagnosis of your vehicle & is very accommodating. During the inspection he made me aware of a very poorly worn passenger side upper control arm that had too much play in it & he was able to replace it same day within a couple hours & the vehicles been driving like a Pearl since then. Not to mention, he had a Kick-ass staff backing the shop up as well. All around great services provided at this location & I would highly recommend. Will be returning for future services for sure ! Two days later, Steve categorically informed me that it needed a new Catilitic (sp?) converter and would cost over $3,000 plus labor, which he was adding up for me before letting me respond in anyway. I did a simple online search to find that C-converters on a 2023 Tuscon do not typically need to be changed until well over 100,000 miles, and in the event the check engine light does go on before then, having it merely cleaned (putting $13 liquid in the gas tank) solves the issue 85% of the time. Steve failed to mention any of that, express any surprise whatsoever that the converter was failing so early, or offer any of the other remedies that are available and far less costly that replacement. Also, please note - if you read the positive reviews here on Yelp! the similarities are glaring and undoubtably fabricated by Steve or the owner to balance out the honest negative reviews. These guys are straight up con-artists - avoid at all costs !!!!!!

They are conveniently located near the 59th Street bridge/off Northern Blvd. They also don't mind working on late model cars and my Volvo S70 is kept in good repair, though on more than one occasion the guys at BKM have given me solid advice & saved me money on repairs not needed. That is a rare attribute in a car repair shop and is why I trust them. They went the extra mile for me on more than one occasion, fixing a part rather than replacing it. Plus being a dog-friendly shop means I bring my pup to hang out in the waiting room while they work. If you need work done by an honest shop, you can't go wrong here. P.S. they throw in a free wash with their service, which is a really nice touch.

When I started shopping for a new used car, the process was complicated and frustrating. Most NYC…read moredealers had incredibly high small print "dealer fees," ads listed a price and in small print would note that price requires $XXXX incremental down payment, etc. Looking in the tri-state area I often found the same thing, plus there would be the added hassle of having to handle taxes and DMV stuff myself in NYS. Anyhow, I found a listing on TrueCar from these guys and the KBB value/listing was good. Easy communication via email and scheduled a test drive. Apparently they typically do wholesale, which makes me think that's why I didn't have to deal with any typical used car dealer b.s. NO hidden fees. DMV registration and plates done for me at cost -- with plates in stock onsite. Easily agreeable to having my mechanic evaluate the car before purchase. In fact, they drove it to the shop and picked it up so I didn't have to take any time off from work. When I got the evaluation from my mechanic with a list of repairs, Ultra Auto took care of them no problem pre-purchase (even before the eval, they had told me the car would be "serviced" pre-purchase). Then they detailed the car again they day I bought it. One of the repairs on the list needed to be evaluated again a couple weeks after purchase and they were able to accommodate me coming in on a weekend to take care of it quickly. It's Covid-times, so I do wish they were all wearing masks in the office even when customers aren't in there, but they were all very agreeable when I asked if they'd put them on for me (and I never had to ask again on any other visits -- can't even get my laundromat to do that). Very satisfied and will reco to friends. They have cars coming in every day, so don't just rely on what you see on their site/online listings. Give Chris or Joey a call.

When Co-Owner Louie opened Vetrazano Motor Work, I started to bring my car there, and found that not only is Service spectacular, but fair and honest is an understatement...I did not know i was being ripped off by my prior Mechanic until I started bringing my Car to Verrazano Motor Works. They bring with th am years of experience on not foreign and domestic vehicles. They are highly efficient and accommodating. If you feel like you are currently going to Mechhanic who is not doing right by you, you should go to Verrazano Motor Works. Two places in LIC couldn't do it- ok fine. But the actual Mitsubishi dealership/ repair shop in woodside couldn't - had us leave the car there for two weeks and still didn't do it! Finally, we came here because of some post we found on Reddit, and it was so easy, they had it done in an hour or so- all they had to do was contact the DMV- they had the direct number to the correct department and show the guy a picture that the car passed and bam, I had my inspection sticker. Plus I went back another time to have them actually work on some things like the brakes and they were great- they gave me an accurate estimate and adhered to it, and I got my car back in a few days.
