Our experience with Romancing the Stone was disappointing, particularly when it came to communication and the handling of an issue with our countertops. On March 12, 2026, we met with Marie Pelosi to select new countertops. We chose our material, arranged payment, and were told we would be contacted regarding the next step. The templating was completed on April 11, and the original installation took place on May 5. We want to make it clear that the original installers did an excellent job. They were professional, knowledgeable, and the countertops fit perfectly. The only cutting and drilling required was for the sink faucets. Unfortunately, after the installation was completed, the installers noticed imperfections in two areas of the countertop material and said they would notify Romancing the Stone. The following day, Kit contacted us and acknowledged that there was an issue. However, it took several additional phone calls before we were contacted by a Daltile representative on June 8. Daltile inspected the countertops and attempted to correct the imperfections, but was unsuccessful. We were subsequently informed that Daltile would warranty the countertops and that replacement material would be delivered to Romancing the Stone. We then went through the process of having the countertops re-templated and eventually had the replacement countertops installed. The second installation was more complicated because the countertops had to be removed and cut to fit properly. This meant additional disruption and the need to deal with plumbing and other work a second time--something we certainly had not anticipated when purchasing new countertops. One part of the experience that particularly concerned us was receiving a call from Marie on July 20 asking whether we wanted a technician to make another attempt at repairing the original imperfections. At that point, we had already been told that the countertops had been warranted and replacement material was being delivered. We had already gone through the process of waiting for the replacement and having the new countertops templated. Naturally, we questioned what would have happened to the warrantied replacement material if we had agreed to another repair attempt. Most importantly, after the final installation, neither Kit nor Marie contacted us to ask whether we were satisfied with the completed work or how the overall experience had gone. Given the amount of time, inconvenience, and additional work involved, we would have expected at least a follow-up call. To be fair, the installers we dealt with were professional and did good work. Our disappointment is primarily with the communication, delays, and lack of follow-through from the company during the warranty and replacement process. We hope Romancing the Stone takes this feedback seriously. Better communication, clearer coordination, and simply following up with the customer after a significant warranty replacement would have made a big difference in our overall experience. Actually installed a totally different quartz in half my kitchen!!!! And took over a month to get replaced... replacement was right ...however, workmanship compared to the first.. horrible. I feel sorry for employees who work here. Many of the installers said they had never worked for such an awful stone Company. Very Mismanaged. Subpar work. No tight seems.... Like others say RUN from this business. We were directed to RTS by our builder and unfortunately we should've chosen somewhere else to select our countertops from. Good selection of quartz marble and granite but the customer service is a DISASTER. While visiting I mentioned to our associate that we had a vessel sink in our first floor bath, this was written up incorrectly on our invoice and ordered incorrectly (my husband and I took complete ownership of not dissecting the order details because we trusted RTS to order the correct products for us.) NOT TRUE. We ended up with the wrong sink installed. We also never got called to come and select our slab template as originally requested. Communication with this company was poor overall and when my husband and realtor showed up in person to discuss this with the GM Marie, she was completely cold and had no intention of fixing her business' mistake. We were offered a discount but still ended up paying to fix the mistake RTS made - UNACCEPTABLE. In my book, this is bad business. We even asked to speak to the owner as suggested by our builder and they conveniently were "not available" for WEEKS from the date we noticed the problem, we could not wait in an effort to not delay our home from being finished. This company is also not BBB accredited so that should speak for itself. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache and your money and go to a business that has pride in its service and puts customer satisfaction first - it is NOT Romancing the Stone. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. Unless you're looking for the most frustrating and disorganized experience of your life, I suggest you steer clear of this place! Update: The owner called me about my review. Mind you, he didn't bother reaching out after the problem first occurred... only after he saw the review. He was defensive, aggressive and wildly unprofessional. Additionally, Romancing the Stone has since come in and installed our granite and sinks; we are stuck working with them because that who our builder uses unfortunately. All the granite was poorly installed. They put a granite backsplash in the kitchen where there wasn't supposed to be one. In the bathrooms, there's gaps in the backsplash. They installed the wrong sinks in ALL the bathrooms, and are refusing to correct their mistake! Don't walk away from this business, RUN! read more

We bought a new construction that was in process so we were able to pick out our own granite. We were referred to RTS by our builder and given a budget. we purchased upgraded granite. the granite in our half bath was supposed to be leathered, but they installed it with the shiny side up and the sides and backsplash are leathered. We have been trying to get this remedied since 2/26/23 and are still getting the run around. We were told that the install would happen on 4/13/23 and a plumber was arranged to come out to disconnect everything. We took time out of work and now the day before this is being cancelled for no specific reason. I have asked about this via email, and the response I got from Marie states that it isn't an inconvenience for me to have stone installed incorrectly. It is an inconvenience to pay for a product and pay for a job incorrectly done. It is an inconvenience to take time out of work and arrange a plumber for the work to be cancelled the day prior. Run away from this company. Listen to all these negative reviews. read more

We had granite countertops installed at the beginning of April 2017. Unfortunately within the first week we noticed our granite was absorbing liquid and areas near our stove and near the sink were starting to stain. We called and asked for someone to come out and check if the granite was sealed properly. After numerous calls and after 2 appointments where nobody showed up Carlos came out and confirmed that our granite needed to be resealed. He gave us two separate dateswhen he would come out, of which he never showed up or called. It is now June and we went ahead and had to have our granite resealed on our own to prevent it from being ruined. The communication and customer service from this company is one of the worst I have experienced. We spent a lot of money and once the product was installed they washed their hands. We got the runaround, I took timeout of work to be at my house for appointments that never happened and these people have no respect for other people's time. We have called at least once a week since the install and have had no resolution, just empty promises to "get back to us". So my advice is to go with another company. read more

This company is the most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. The project was a diseater from the beginning. Had to help the guy that did the template. On install, one employee had his pants so low his underwear was showing. The countertop was cut too short and they cut the opening for the sink "on site", in the bathroom. Had white granit dust EVERYWHERE! They did not even clean any thing up. Next day we went to showroom and complained. We were told they would refund us $300.00 for the mess. We accepted.Have not seen any refund yet.Still fighting to get our refund. Stay away, far away from the business. They are NOT honest to their customers. They really don't care about customer satisfaction at all. This company/owner will keep your money and has refused to return a deposit even though I cancelled my order the same day and in writing..The finance/business office women there will lie over the phone telling you the owner is not available, but that she would call back once he is available. IF I CAN GIVE IT 0 STARS I WOULD!! This place is absolute TRASH WHEN IT COMES TO VALUE THEIR COSTUMERS And professionalism is out the door!!! Let me explain all of this from the beginning! We got reccomended to this place by a friend, so we decided to give it a try and both me and my husband fell in love with how kind Heidi was towards us. EVERYTHING changed once we put our down payment. Trying to get a hold of someone in this place is absolutely hell. I'm mind blown at the fact this people are still in business. The day of installation, the installer cracked my counter and after I told him about it, he had the nerves to tell me that theres a KIT AT HOME DEPOT THAT I CAN BUY. He wanted me to fix something that wasnt even broken to begin with. After I exploded and told him that he broke it, he understood and fixed it. Then after installing the granite and hes about to leave, we ask if he added the granite sealer in which he told us no because he didnt had it. Mind you we paid double the price for this granite sealer that cost $88 on Amazon (we paid 175). So I called heidi in which she informed me that shes confused as how they didn't bring the sealer since it's on the paper and was going to get back to me. This is where the hell of a month and a half goes. After talking to her, she tells me that they have no more sealers and they're waiting for a shipment. I totally understood and told her ok. A week pass and I call, The lady at the desk puts Tanya on the phone And tells me it hasnt arrived yet and that they would call me as soon as it does. This goes on for weeks and this lady tells me a different day every week of when its coming! When they tell you they're going to call you back, they actually dont. I reccomend you keep calling them because we've spent alot of money plus paid for a sealer in which a month after installation hasnt been put on yet! Today June 2nd, was our SUPPOSED appointment to finally after a month and a half to pour our sealer. They told my husband between 10am and 11am The guy shows up around 840am this morning, he calls my husband phone and tells him he is here in which my husband tells him that hes dropping off our daughter to school and that he was told the appointment was between 10 and 11am, in which THE INSTALLER REPLIES THAT YES HE SEES THAT IN HIS PAPERS. SO ONCE AGAIN, THE INSTALLER EVEN PROVED TO US THAT THE APPOINTMENT IN HIS PAPER SAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 10AM AND 11AM. The level of professionalism that I just got off the phone with most likely Tanya because for some reason Heidi cant ever get back to us Was absolutely DISGUSTING. FOR THIS LADY TO ANGRILY TELL ME THAT OUR APPOINTMENT IS NOW GOING TO BE FOR TOMORROW (June 3rd) AND TO ALSO SAY THAT THEY NEVER BOOK A HOUR WINDOW APPOINTMENT WHEN YOUR OWN WORKER SAID HE SEES THAT IN HIS PAPERS IS ABSOLUTELY DISTASTEFUL. My engagement with RTS dates back to end of 2015 beginning 2016 when we were in the process of buying a new condo in Northborough, MA. I was pointed out to them by the seller (the developer) and his agent. We visited the shop 3 times, there we worked with sales person Frank. He did a good job telling us about different stones, accessories and guiding us through the process. Eventually we ordered the granite for the kitchen countertop, a sink and a grid for the sink. This is probably where the good experience ended. The grid has never arrived, but RTS claimed that it was shipped. I wasn't there when the delivery happened (because they kept me in the dark with regards to the delivery schedule), nobody asked me to sign off the shipment. When I came for the 1st time after the installation I didn't see it and nobody on behalf of the developer ever saw it. Communication on the matter with RTS customer service turned out to be simply impossible. I would call, they'd promise to check and call back, but of course nobody would call. I had to hunt them down, leave messages, call again only to find out that they are gone for the day. Later, thru the developer, I managed to obtain the phone number of the owner of the business who never responded to my calls or voice messages. Eventually they completely dropped the ball. The $80 that I paid for the sink lost and nobody at RTS cares. Months later I bought that same grid for $60 from another granite yard. A few words of advice for any potential RTS clients: 1. Don't count on their customer service. IF things go awry, you're on your own. 2. Make sure you pay with a credit card for everything and know the rules of your credit card company with respect to the transaction disputes. 3. Beware that RTS do not always install the products they sell themselves. In fact, I'm not sure whether they install anything themselves. In our case they subcontracted a small noname company to do the installation work. The quality of their work varies. Some of those subcontractors barely speak English. As a result the communication was very poor. If you aren't happy or have and issue, RTS won't even know what you're talking about because they didn't do the work themselves so additional communication is required to understand what's transpired. From here you can only hope for the best. See (1). 4. Once you've chosen your stone, make sure they mark your slab, so that you don't suddenly get something else. And don't accept anything else. Even within the same type of granite there can be some variation between different slabs. Takes pictures of everything. 5. Don't trust the shop with laying out the templates for you. Make sure you're present when this is happening. The shop wants to minimize the stone waste so they will do the layout that maximizes their profits, not the one that will necessarily look great in your kitchen. If you leave this process on to them, you might be setting yourself up for surprises. For example, you may discover that the seams are in unexpected places or that the pattern of the stone doesn't align between your countertop and the island or the countertop and the backsplash. read more

I visited the showroom back in APRIL for a simple granite top for my bathroom vanity as well as a sink to go with it. Granted, it took me a few weeks to find vanity I needed, but after making a deposit on the piece of granite and getting dicked around for even longer, it took them until JUNE to call me with a "template date." Now, when the woman called me to schedule a date, she called it an "installment date" which put me under the impression that everything was getting installed on that date. I even asked her if the company takes out the vanity on that day or if I had to, she then told me that it was my responsibility so I took out my sink. Come to find out, they were only coming by to measure it!! I have been without a sink in my bathroom for over 5 WEEKS NOW! I've been calling every single day to schedule an installment, waiting for Tanya to come back from "running errands" "attending meetings" and pulling her head out of her ass! And apparently no one else is ever around to Take my calls either. Absolute worst customer service ever! my next phone call will be to the attorney general and better business bureau! read more

My experience with Romancing the Stone has been horrible!! First during the sale we were told if our drawing were inaccurate we would be refunded the difference but if we didn't question this we would have never gotten the difference of $130. Our install was scheduled and installed without problem except the sink wasn't available. We were told two stories ( they were damaged and they were delayed in shipping) Also a piece of granite was mis-measured and had to be recut. This was our second time using them and both times miss cuts and no sink rack. If we had know that we would have delay our project rather than live without a kitchen sink for a length of time. Then when I called they said they were expecting the sinks tonight and they had us scheduled for between one and five o'clock. I was advised to keep this appointment even though the sinks were not there yet. So I sat at home waiting and no one showed up and the business was closed. I called the next day and a very rude manager told me I never confirmed the appointment. They never called to say they weren't there yet. She talked over me and refused listen. We spoke with the owner who was nice and listened but didn't seem to do anything. The sink came in and was installed but no sink rack was on the truck. I was told I could pick it up or wait until they were in the area again. I chose delivery because I didn't want to ever go there again. So they called several weeks later and said it would be here within a four hour period. Again nothing!! They promised to find out what happened but never called back.The next time they called to deliver I told them I was not interested and to refund my money. Amazon has the same thing for $20 less. Beware of this company. All of this is not a coincidence but blatant incompetence. read more

They do a great job having the best marble selection available in the state. They also do a great job with measuring and cutting and design. Even installation is good. There will always be problems and mistakes here and there. My experience was not the best when they made a mistake. You really need to be a project manager and handle everything and do not settle. It took months for me because they cracked my marble on installing the faucet hole with a bit made more for granite than marble. Eventually they replaced but it took much too long. Also, the warranty sealer is strange because the paperwork says the company you buy from will apply it but the salespeople say to apply it yourself. Find out if the owner is going out of the country during your install because if he is and something goes wrong they have no authority to correct the problem until he gets back.He will fix it though. They did for me. And it is pretty. 11/21/2016 I added a third star because the owner called me and told me they will work on customer service going forward and I am sure they will. I will add that there is no substitute for white marble and they do have good prices on it. They had the best price. I would have liked quartz but the price would have been double so the marble is affordable. read more

I have a cracked sink, a jagged backsplash and a chip in my granite top.The quality of the granite is poor, they don't stand behind their product, and wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money to come back and fix their mistakes. read more
