I followed up with him twice but he didn't respond either time and never got back to me. Very disappointing.

His recommendation about where to place the moulding was better than our idea, and the crew was able to skillfully work around the quirks of a 170-year old house (sloping ceilings, walls, and drywall on top of plaster) to install the material with a level of skill that only comes with years of experience. Beyond the technical skills, they are nice guys working hard to help people get stuff done. I would definitely hire them again, and plan to do so this fall. It was very nice to have a positive, low-drama, no-surprises home project.

If you want quality work, excellent communication, and ease of mind, hire Build Pros. We originally wanted to have our microwave vented out (rather than circulating air and grease in the kitchen) and add a second banister to the stairs to the basement to make them more safe for our growing toddler. We were also considering having our spare basement bathroom remodeled. The bathroom really wasn't very functional because it was built in pieces (so the gross tiny stall shower wasn't even in the bathroom). That was a big job, and we wanted to get a quote for all three pieces. The first two jobs were too small on their own, so we hired Build Pros for all three. They were amazing to work with, and the work they did was the highest of quality. The team was extremely communicative, and we always knew when they were coming, what they were doing next, and what to expect. Their spreadsheet system made it really easy for everyone to keep track of what we had selected, costs, etc. They helped us a ton with design decisions, made recommendations when appropriate, and made sure we were happy with absolutely everything before moving forward. Our house stayed unbelievably clean, given the level of work they were doing, throughout the process. Mike and Rouben were fantastic at reimagining the layout of our bathroom, taking all of our priorities into consideration. John, their carpenter, is a master. We went way over budget, but a lot of that was my fault. I wanted a bathroom that was functional, but the more we talked and designed, the more I realized we actually could get a really *nice* bathroom that wasn't just functional, but high end. They did a bunch of other random things in the area too. We just were so happy with their work, and they were already there, so we asked them to fit in a few small things and they were awesome in getting those done too (adding a couple outlets in the adjacent home gym, replacing our outdoor water spigots, etc.). We are extremely happy with the final products. We even had a water problem shortly after they finished. They fixed it swiftly with no charge. It might have been a part issue or a labor issue, and so in the beginning it was unclear whether we were going to have to pay for repairs right away. I would have been very disappointed if they had charged us, and have all the more confidence in them since they fixed it and stood by the work and warranty. The only real negative was that sometimes when we had to make a decision, and the team gave us a quick "off the cuff" estimate about how much a few different options would cost, the estimate was really a fair amount lower than estimated. That contributed to some of our cost increase, but in the end I think we would have made the same decisions regardless. We're extremely happy with the final products. We even hired them again and they're starting work at my mother-in-laws house this week! I'm already dreaming of putting an addition on our house in the future, and we will hire them absolutely if/when we do this.

During the process we mentioned many times with phone calls, and text the inconsistency of the job their crew was doing. The "project manager" would show up for 5 minutes and leave. In my opinion he has no hands on siding experience at all. We asked for meetings to go over what was going wrong with this job, and we were always stood up, no communication. The crew would work after 5pm in the dark to get the job done. I don't think they knew any of their crew that was subbed out. They came in a van from MA. we were left with a disaster siding job, as other contractors put it totally incompetent. Here are some of the problems we were left with. They did come back to try and fix a few things, but what they fixed was still not fixed such as some siding above the front window that now has a buckle in it. 11 torn screens, a broken boat trailer light, gutters dented and put back on incorrectly. We now have to replace them due to the damage removing them., A back door they put on that does not close, our new deck was chipped, and scratched, also they put screwed blocks into the deck to hold their ladders, AC unit covers incorrectly attached, broken and cracked they need to be replaced, they took it upon themselves to change the architect arch on our garage to a square opening and did not ask, electrical wires screwed onto the roof, caulking to glue together siding on the shed, shed door attached with a big space at the top, finish work on the shed is a disaster. This is a lot, but I can back it up with pictures. The owner came over after the job was done, and all our complaints, and said it looked good. I don't believe he has any experience himself with siding. We went to the town hall to check if they pulled a building permit, and they did not. They told us they did. We are left with a disaster, and expense of paying for another company to fix it. Please do yourself a favor and find another company, they don't know what they're doing.

In addition, my husband and I had a little bit of an emergency situation on our hands due to an impending heat wave, and needed to figure out a solve for our problem quickly. (This I know, was our bad in not preparing better. We take full responsibility!) I put out a request on Yelp on a Wednesday afternoon to all listed handyperson services and emailed another 6 or so companies listed on Google. Most of companies I pinged did not respond at all, and the smattering that did said they were booked through October. Thank my lucky stars, though, Joe called me back within the hour and said he'd come by between 4:30 and 5pm to take a look-WHICH HE DID! Off to a good start and it just kept getting better! I walked him through the challenge at hand: we needed to install an air conditioner in our garage, but we only had one janky window to work with that didn't fit the most narrow window unit, a standup unit didn't cool the space, and we didn't really want to lose use of the window entirely. Joe jumped right in and suggested a quick, flexible, and affordable solution: build an insulated window box so we can easily install and remove the AC seasonally and maintain the insulation that we need during the colder months. Genius! Not only was his idea a good one that checked all boxes, he presented his ideas clearly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and didn't pander to my very unimpressive knowledge of construction in general. Joe sent me an estimate via email the next morning, I approved it immediately, he showed up to do the work that very afternoon, and he was finished with the work by 5pm! MAGIC. He completed the work swiftly, rigorously, efficiently, and cleanly. The AC box is secure, accurately placed based on expectation, and perfectly fits a classic AC window unit.
