ZERO STARS..
(My story is based back in late March/early April).
Do not put your trust into the management here. It is SUCH a beautiful complex, and in such a convenient area/neighborhood, but unfortunately does not measure up to the "good looks." Read my story if you are on the hunt for an apartment in this area. It is long but it will save you from going through what I went through. Please read..
My boyfriend and I were walk-ins. We stumbled upon this place and liked the atmosphere. We were offered on the spot to do a walk-through of a 2BD2BATH (not one we could afford at the time but we were told it looked similar to a 1 bedroom that we were hoping for). Very nice upstairs apartment, vaulted ceilings, spacious living room, nice patio and extra storage. We were SOLD. So we applied online, $40 each.
Once we were approved, I drove 50 minutes to set a holding deposit ($250.00) on a 1BED1BATH (which I haven't yet seen, but would be the first to see once it was cleaned and available for a walk-through). They told me I have 14 days from the day I put down my holding deposit to make my decision. Well, here I am 13 days later with no answer because I STILL have not been able to see the apartment.
I called and called for a week prior and they have told me several different stories on why it is not ready to be seen yet and when I could maybe, possibly, see it. Finally I was told it would be available to see on Wednesday, the 22nd (Three days before my cut off date). Okay, so I called on Wednesday just to make sure they would be ready for my appearance. "Oh, it is actually not cleaned yet and cannot be seen." Wait a minute, they told me I could come in and see it on this day so why is it not ready yet? (Pissed). I dropped all plans and money to come see it on this day.
They told me it would possibly be ready on Friday to see. WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE??!!! Our cut off day is on Saturday. I need to make a decision NOW.
So I worked something out with them and luckily (sarcasm) got to see it on Thursday. Nothing was ready. Broken trim along the walls, bathroom tub was chipped (which they said, don't worry, we're fixing that tomorrow), the patio was filthy and filled with cobwebs, a few pull out drawers were off of their hinges in the kitchen and the light fixture coverings were unfinished, just resting on the kitchen counter. Oh and did I mention, there were no windows? Total fire hazard. There were two sliding glass doors, one of which could not open because the track was broken. Another fire hazard. They both led to the same area, the small patio that was fenced off. A fence so high I would not be able to climb if ever necessary. ANOTHER FIRE HAZARD. God forbid there was ever a fire by the front door, because that would be my only escape option.
Even though I did not like it, I did not tell them what my decision was yet. I waited, and I waited. Until it was Saturday, our "move-in" date. Still had never got a call from them to even check in and see if we had made a decision so they could give us the keys. So I called, no answer. Left a message saying we decided to go in a different direction and I would like my $250 holding deposit put back into my checking account since they did not live up to even the minimum expatations they gave me reason to believe in the beginning. They finally called back and stated that they could not refund me since I only had 48 hours after placing the holding deposit to get my "refund." WAIT ANOTHER DAMN MINUTE. The apartment was not even ready within 48 hours for me to make my decision. It was no where close to being ready at that time. Hell, it wasn't even ready 13 days later!
I am taking further action to get my refund since they not only stole my money, but wasted my time, my gas money, trust and respect. Management here put such a beautiful place to shame. It is unfortunate. read more
