I lived in my apartment for 10 years. I lived this apartment and it felt like home. My neighbors were wonderful people...with a few exceptions obviously. It is an apartment... The office staff did change quite often but they were always kind and responsive. The maintenance was always available for repairs, and being that they were older and mine had not been remodeled yet there were quite a few repairs. Ruben was always the nicest human ever!!! The few draw backs were the parking, the parking lot, the windows and the plumbing. The parking for guests as sparse to say the least. Some tenants had 3-4 cars creating massive space hogging. The parking lot drains would clog when it rained and that made ponds the we had to walk through and drive through. The windows were a bit leaky with water and cold/heat so heating and a/c were sometimes pricy. The plumbing was old and would back up pretty regularly. Despite any issues I loved my apartment and loved driving through the winding lot to my space. I loved the pond with the ducks and the lovely fountains. I miss the frogs and lil' fishes that were there before the ponds were renovated. I will always have fond memories of my little apartment home. read more

I've lived at these apartments twice now. Both times the management team have been above and beyond. The property manager now is Brandi and she is one of the sweetest and most helpful people I've ever rented from. The maintenance people are very respectful of us and our request to not let the cats out when they come. The management here always communicates with us well and answer any questions we may have. I couldn't recommend a better place to rent from! The office is always clean along with any amenities they offer as well. For starters, when my husband and I came by to visit this complex to get a tour and some information, the gals working at the front seemed more interested in their hair and makeup than in welcoming potential renters. They do not offer tours, they do not have model units, they hand you a packet and refer you to pictures on their website. Due to price, my husband and I took a chance and signed papers for a unit we picked and were happy with (strictly going off of location). We were given a move in date, but a week before we were supposed to move in we were told we couldn't. This was very bad because we had to be out of our old place by that date. The person who was in the apartment was "squatting" and was refusing to leave. They told us they couldn't do anything about it and we were forced to move into another unit in a place we didn't want to be, but we took it. Upon arrival, they handed us the contract and sat us down at a desk and told us to read it and sign it without going over anything with us. They also didn't do a walk thru to check the unit with us, they just gave us a paper to mark things we noticed were wrong with it and gave us 2 days to return it. How do you expect us to notice these things when we are busy moving in? We also were welcomed by bugs in our unit. Not sure if they're cock roaches or what, but they called them "water bugs". Regardless, it's disgusting. They crawled all over our kitchen and bathroom and I ended up having to go out and buy bug traps myself to get rid of them. We still have to deal with them as well as ants and spiders that never seem to go away. We are clean people and have never had issues with ants or "water bugs" or any bugs for that matter! All they offered us was to spray outside our unit and give us bug traps but the pest control people never seemed to be around to drop off traps to us. A few other things: Parking sucks, trash cans are almost always a hike to get to depending on what unit you have, maintenance does a half ass job fixing things, our unit smelt like cigarettes and marijuana upon moving in, the cabinets are falling apart and have unknown stains. ZERO storage in the kitchen, half of our outlet plugs didn't work. A few things that we did like: Wood burning fireplaces, mature trees, trails behind the complex, two pools, large master bedroom w/ walk in closet, quiet neighbors. My one year stay was NOT pleasant, maybe yours will be different, but wouldn't take the chance. read more

I LOVE these apartments. my boyfriend and i have lived here for almost 2 years. sadly we had to leave due to our family expanding and just needing more room but nonetheless it's been a wonderful time here. They accommodated us and our fur babies and were so welcoming. my favorite part about this complex is there's so much room for my fur babies to run around. they have a dog park, a park, and a cute little forest behind them where there's a trail for you to explore ! For this being mine and my boyfriends first home together it was seriously amazing. we had a wonderful experience here and i recommend these apartments to anyone who is moving out for the first time or just need a place to call home for a little bit. Brandi who is the main supervisor in the front office has treated us very kindly from the start. the maintenance team is on it all the time. there system to use to pay your rent online is extremely easy to navigate as well. any questions you have you can just call the front office and they are MORE than helpful. like i said, for this being my first home and first time moving out with another person it's been outstanding. i'm extremely grateful and will always remember my first home being here. read more

Huntington Square is a beautiful apartment complex. We had a few issues though. Maintenance wasn't very quick. Our AC unit was working in the summer and it took over a week to fix it and after they fix it it went out again about 4 days later. They gave us a floor fan but that didn't help much. The other problem we had was during the time we stayed at this complex there was a shooting. A few apartments had bullet holes and a window was shot out. It was scary. And the worst part is that there is only one way in and out of this complex so when the shooting occurred it was blocked off so you couldn't leave. After that we quickly moved out. read more

We have lived here since November 2012 and love it here! This place has NOT been advertised heavily so we didn't know what to expect coming in. Only thing we knew from visiting was that this place was serene, the apartments beautiful, the tenants very friendly and happy to live here and the management very nice. We got a partially remodeled unit that was beautiful in it's details. Management and staff are super friendly and helpful. Call for a maintenance issue and they are out the same day (unless it's an outside vendor like pest control or grounds keeping). We have the most wonderful neighbors in our unit too as this place attracts kind and responsible people (though not all). Our direct neighbors have been more than friendly and helpful in our situation (my husband has cancer and my daughter has a disability). Before we moved here I put a call out on Facebook if anyone knew of this place since there was so little known about it. Surprisingly I had three friends who had lived here previously before purchasing their homes and said that they absolutely loved it. The ONLY con I have is that their beautiful, sun filled clubhouse is closed for public use mainly because their corporate headquarters are there and they only keep one person in the office during the weekends. Therefore they have to shut down the office to show apartments to prospective residents. I have gotten a job with a 35 minute commute but we are still looking to stay here because we love it so much! To the one person who had a problem with management...maybe the problem was your approach? They have been MORE than kind and helpful to us. If you follow the rules and keep open communication with certain situations they are more than accommodating. Update 10/29/15 - We still love it here. These guys are great. Sure you pay more than you really want to in rent but it's 100% worth it. No pest problems in the 3 years I've been here, maintinence always comes when you ask and they ALWAYS have fixed the problem. The gardening team comes 1x a week like clockwork. Parking is hard sometimes, and the walls in the unit themselves are paper thin but overall I love this place. I've only had to turn my ac on a handful of times and same for the heater. Water pressure is always good and the neighbors are what you would hope in a place like this. They do the best they can here and for that I think it's worth the slightly higher price tag. read more

First of all, when we moved in the apartment wasn't very clean. The floors had been vacuumed and everything else given a quick wipe but there was dust and dirt on every surface. Upon opening the kitchen cupboards we discovered that the shelves were cheap plywood with mold. When we asked them to check it they said it was just grease stains from the previous owner. We walked up the stairs and nails stabbed our feet, we had to pound them back in the ground ourselves. The showers had little sharp bits in the floor that wore down over time. The outlets were loose and were never quite fixed even though we had the maintenance out several times. Parking is pretty bad, if you come home later at night don't expect to find a spot, you'll be parking across the street in the residential. Crossing the street in the daytime is almost impossible so you have to walk all the way to the crosswalk. The outside lighting was inadequate at night, it felt unsafe walking home at night. My car and my brother's car got broken into while we lived there, my seat was reclined all the way back so I believe a homeless person slept in there that night. Management did nothing except give us a number for the local police. There was a security car, but you almost never saw them around. There were several times that we threw a bag in the dumpster and were greeted by a homeless person going through the trash. You could hear them multiple times a day going through everything trying to find recyclables. One day we went out on our porch and found a pile of human excrement! No doubt left by one of the homeless people sometime in the night. Our family that lived in another apartment in the complex had a wasp invasion since there was a hole in the roof by the front door and wasps had built their nest there. They called the office for help and were told that the pest control man would come by on Wednesday, several days later. It was a miracle that they weren't stung while exterminating the wasps themselves. We barely got any of our deposit back even after spending over a month cleaning and having a lady from the office telling us we did a fantastic job. It was cleaner than when we moved in! The rent increased, which is why we left, and it was already overpriced. All that being said, the maintenance was prompt, polite and competent and Callie at the front office was always sweet and helpful. read more

We have been living here a little over a month and we have enjoyed our time being here. We had minor things to be looked at by maintenance and they were here within 2 days of notice to fix the issue right there. We had a dishwasher not locking and they decided to just upgrade ours which makes the kitchen that much better and updated. Natalie helped us with our move in and she was very personal and informative. The other girls in the office are great as well and are understanding when issues arise. We enjoy our little home, and hope to continue with our stay here. read more

Lived here for one year, carpets were 2 years old when we moved in, when we left, yes there were some spots on the carpet because of all the cherry trees in the complex but nothing horrible that couldn't be cleaned. Yet when we moved out they decided they would finally replace the carpets and they'd pawn the cost off on us. Took 1000 out of our cleaning deposit for carpet replacement in addition to the rest of the cleaning costs. DO NOT RENT HERE. It seems like an ok place at first glance but they are shady and immoral. I have lived here for one year now and we absolutely love it here! We are getting a house once our lease is up but if we weren't, we would definitely be signing another lease here! I spent hours looking at apartments and we finally went with Huntington Square Apartments and I'm so glad we did! They are really spacious and nice. Not like most apartments, the kitchen is decent sized for an apartment! The office ladies are amazing!! Every time I need something or something isn't working, they have someone out the same day to fix it! Only downside is the normal homeless recyclable collectors, but just ignore them and they won't bother you! Everyone here is super friendly. Love it! I would definitely recommend it. read more

I never received the security deposit from this place. I will be contacting the CA DRE to report the so called property manager that did not provide a reason as to why they kept my security deposit. By CA state law, they are required to return your security deposit with 21 days or provide a letter itemizing the list of charges that will be deducted from your security deposit. read more

Been living at the property for over 4 years and the past 2 1/2 years the property has been going down each year. The Skunk population on the property is out of hand but that isn't the stinkiest part about living here. The OFFICE STAFF doesn't have any CUSTOMER SERVICE skills or lack of. If you have a complaint about something on the property they feel like it's more of a inconvenience than an opportunity to satisfy a client who has been living there on the property for over many years. The property has been run down over the past year and more facilities on the property are breaking down and aren't being fixed or pushed to the side. This property was very desirable back 4 years ago. I believe the property has switched hands and the current OWNERS just don't care!!!!! The BEST advice I can give anybody about possibly renting here would be DON'T! The rent is OUTRAGIOUS for what in turn you receive. Horrible management!!!! took my daughters deposit and then some. The lived there 6 months and they claimed there was human urine on the carpet in the bedroom under where they had their bed placed. They tore up the carpet before my daughter had a chance to see it and threw it away, had to be completely replaced they claim. I would never recommend this property to anyone. They also had a pot smoker above them who the management must have known because when the smoke came into my grandsons room through the vents they said that there was nothing they could do about it. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE, YOU TOO WILL BE REPLACING THEIR CARPETS. read more
