The staff made everything simple and stress-free, and we were out on the water in no time. There's nothing better than sunshine, friends, and a day on the lake. New Marina owner managed to destroy the local boating community in a matter of months evicting the dozens of good-paying customers including Freedom Boat Club to replace them with overpriced rental pontoons to force the locals into their Monopoly scheme. Price gouging on everything including fuel. Many of the past customers had to sell their boats for pennies on the dollar or move them over an hour away to Kerr Lake. One $300k Houseboat even had to be donated to Charity Auction to be moved in time. We hope they are happy with their greed and lack of thought for the community. read more

new owners are DISHONORABLE. They do not honor slip Leases. Terminating long time Family and community members leases. Price gouging fuel, slips, pump-outs. Proclaimed they are no longer a FAMILY marina, they are a CORPORATE marina. Lots of leases canceled with complete disregard to the community members undue expense to relocate. Owner sends his staffies to do the dirty deeds and give the bad news. Zero community outreach. NC State Park superintendent?? What's up?? You have heard. Families of Falls Lake are leaving this dishonorable marina. No contract is safe there. Investigate! Zero regard for the boaters of the Raleigh Durham Wake Forest Chapel Hill Apex community. Support and spend your money at a different lake. Bad business practices. The new owner wants to sell boats to boating community of the Triangle!!!! That's all of us, dummy. We were just there this past week/weekend and decided to rent a boat. The only issue is that they don't do same day rental. Anyway, the day we picked was actually cold and rainy, they gave us 50% back after we decided to come back in. They were extremely friendly and prompt with service. All rental boats are brand new, extremely nice, and mechanically sound. I will definitely rent from there again. read more

After 8+ years with our boat at Rollingview Marina, we received a call telling us they are not renewing our lease. This has happened to all the big boats at the marina since the sale. They have given us 3 weeks notice. You read that right, 3 weeks! The new owners are unprofessional, impersonal, non-communicative, and do not have the community in mind. They are price gouging on pump outs and fuel. Beware of this marina and its owners. read more

Rollingview Marina offers a variety of rentals for your water-sporting pleasure. On this visit, we went paddleboarding. Rentals are by the hour, but I'd check with the desk for exact prices. The experience is seamless--simply pay at the window and walk on over to the shore. If it's your first time, the staff will give you a rundown of the basics, hand you a life jacket, a board and an oar and you'll be on your way. For paddleboarding, you'll want to make sure the winds are calm. It appeared to be a quiet summers' day, but once on the water, it was a bit of a challenge to keep our board moving in the right direction. Paddling is intuitive, though, and the learning curve isn't too steep, especially if you're active and have a strong core and sense of balance. We paddled out to small cove and relaxed on the sand for a bit, refueling with some drinks/snacks. For the most part, as long as you steer clear of the boats, you can paddle in any direction and hang out on the water for as long as you like. It made for a very relaxing outdoors-y kind of day - the perfect way to soak up some sun with great company. read more

Kayak rental. I'm not sure who hired the people who work here, but.... Sunday morning and it's an unusually cooler day. My wife had booked this weeks in advance so we'd hoped for nicer weather. Oh well. We could have just cancelled, but decided to go anyway. The kayaks are pretty run down. As they sit outside, they were all full of water. The young kid, who was too young to be hungover appeared to act like someone who was .... hungover. At a snails pace, and the energy of a dead battery, he finally had 3 kayaks ready for us. After changing out a set of paddles that were faulty, I was handed another one that was only slightly better. As we paddled out, past the marina it started to drizzle, and as you head into the main lake, the wind began to pick up, along with the waves. The kayaks themselves are not comfortable. There's nowhere to put your feet for stability, so your back takes a punishing. Although we asked if there were any kayaks that were a "sit on" as opposed to "sit in" the only choice was the sit in type. After about 50 minutes of being buffeted by the wind, and beginning to actually get cold because of the drizzle, we had no real choice but to head back. Don't expect any help getting out of the canoe. The dead battery just watches you struggle. Maybe no one told him to help anyone. $80 for an hour for 3 kayaks. There's a 2 hour minimum, apparently. It's posted somewhere on the wall inside the store they won't let you into. As I tried to explain that another hour wouldn't be reasonable, the girl behind just rolled her eyes. I'm hind sight I should have looked at the fine print on the wall (because that's what we do, right) and if I'd known, we'd have walked away to return another day when it's more weather friendly. Still, the girl is just doing her job. I'm just writing a review. We've already found somewhere else to go next time, so that's that. My husband has leased slips there for years. Prior management was a bit unorganized but they were friendly. New management is organized but not very friendly. After the way we were treated this last time, I don't think I would want to go there again. Maybe a misunderstanding but seemed unreasonable to me. read more

Judging by the number of boaters, waders and folks just enjoying a Sunday picnic, this place is pretty nice! Truth be told, I wasn't dressed to take advantage of it - I'd accompanied my sweetie (who happens to be the minister that was officiating a wedding there) and didn't realize what the setting would be like...so I'll have to try this place "for real" next time. My only question mark regarded the "No Swimming" signs... I hope they aren't an indicator of unsanitary water! ...just be prepared to pay a $6 admission fee (per vehicle) as this is a part of the "Falls Lake State Recreational Area." read more

Went there with my son to go kayaking. Prices were reasonable and equipment is well maintained. My only complaint is that they don't rent out back supports for the regular kayaks. I'll have to bring my own. Beautiful location and it wasn't busy - we went on a Monday morning. My wife and my mom came here one partly-cloudy summer day to rent stand up paddleboards. Evidently, they just starting renting them out this year, so the boards are very new and nice. It was only $15 for the first hour and $10 for each hour afterwards. We thought that was a really good deal. It was our first time stand up paddleboarding, and we didn't really need a lesson or anything to get used to things. The boards are big enough where you can get on and pick up the technique pretty quickly. The lake is beautiful, and we spent a good hour and a half paddleboarding, which was more of a workout than I had anticipated. The location of the marina is a little hard to get to, and kind of far out. But the people that rented the paddleboards to us were very nice and helpful. It's definitely worth a try! read more

We were sightseeing around Wake Forest NC and happened onto this cool marina. We went into the store "just looking" but came out with tee shirts, hats and drinks. Unlike a previous post, we did not have to pay a fee to enter the marina area. I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this trashy marina. We were traveling to Raleigh from another state and bringing our boat to spend the weekend on Falls Lake. I called to find out some information about the lake and surroundings. The person that answered the phone, who worked at the marina, informed me that she "knew nothing about Falls Lake". I should have taken that as a sign and hung up, but, unfortunately, I did not. We ended up renting a slip for the weekend which turned out to be a nightmare. First of all, the boat ramp is atrocious!! It is straight down hill, on a gravel road with barely any turn around space and there is NO DOCK on the ramp. So I guess the person who is driving the trailer is just supposed to swim out to the boat after they park the trailer. After seeing this, we chose drive out of the marina and put the boat in at the state park next door. This ramp is much nicer. Secondly, BE WARNED there is a gate at the marina entrance that locks at 5:00 and you cannot get in OR OUT of the marina after 5:00. The person who nothing "about the lake", obviously knew nothing about the gate either because she didn't bother to tell us we would be locked in after 5:00 nor did she bother to give us a way of open the gate. So after a day on the water we ended up locked in the marina for 45 minutes until a random person drove up and was able to open the gate with their fob. Although there was a number to call on the gate that we tried 15 times, no one ever answered the phone. The next day we tried to be proactive and call to find out how we could exit the marina after boating. We did not want to rush to be done by 5:00 on a beautiful Saturday. We called and spoke to a guy who said he lived on the premises and would open the gate for us once we docked the boat. Once again, NOT TRUE!! We called the number he gave us and no one answered. We tried calling at least 10 times. Being afraid that we would be LOCKED IN again, we chose to go back the state park and pull the boat out of the water and not use the slip we paid $40 a night for. When we returned to our home town, I called and asked to speak with someone about our experience and I asked to be refunded the $40 for the slip we could not use. They refused to refund and offered no apology for the difficulty we experienced. So if you want a crappy boat ramp, an uninformed staff, and to get ripped off, then this is your type of marina. My suggestion is just go to the state park and steer clear of this eye sore. read more

I came visiting NC from Phoenix, AZ and the people here are really friendly. They're happy to help and answer any questions I had. The lake is beautiful and surrounded by tall trees. I was also not expecting the water to be as warm as it was which was nice. You can also swim in the water. I would come back here again! read more

i went kayaking once about 7 years ago, and wanted to try it again. found this place on google & loved my experience even though i did choose a bad day to go kayaking. by the end of the trip, it took a turn for the worst, when it started pouring! the forecast hadn't predicted it, but i was left with some pretty great memories. i was freaking out too much and i thought i was going to be stuck for a while! but we were able to call the company and they came to where we were, fetched our kayaks and drove us back on a boat to their store. from the place they push you out, you can choose to go two ways. the right side which is where the lake expands and there's not much, and then the left side, which i liked better. you pass all the big boats and you can also kayak what seems like a couple miles down to the sandling beach. which was the perfect place because we pulled over and swam. Great views and just overall an amazing experience for not that much. a really fun thing to do in raleigh ! read more

The atmosphere was very laid back and the setting is just fantastic! The service before, the 'sale' is very good however once you pay for the year the service falls completely off. They are not at all dependable and have to be asked many times before anything gets accomplished. One of the owners literally removed part of my vessel and used it on his personal watercraft. The dishonesty is incredible. read more
