The bbq is great, I especially like the options (potato, nachos, sandwich, etc.). Breakfast is my favorite though! It is a true made to order place. We ordered, and (I'm assuming) the owner went to the back and cooked it up like it was my own dad in the kitchen making Saturday morning breakfast. The pancakes are terrific and the scrambled eggs are my fav in Memphis. It is a little pricey and sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but be patient and know that it is worth it! (And they give you enough pancakes to feed at least 2 people:). It's a cute, fun place and I really enjoy it!

The rib meat is soft and falls off the bone, and has enough dry rub seasoning to eat without additional sauce. The pulled pork wasn't bad but it was pretty average and kinda requires BBQ sauce due to its dryness and lack of flavor. The Mac was my favorite part of the meal, but I'm predisposed to love Mac and cheese. Thick and creamy cheese with flavor on the stronger side. Mac was very soft, to the point where it's texture was starting to blend in with that of the cheese. Potato wedges are kinda just sitting on the warming element so they taste as one would expect. Not that crispy, but still acceptable. Flavor is fine, nothing special. Cornbread is similar. Kinda dry and somewhat sweet like cornbread usually is. I'd say the cornbread is a bit sweeter than usual though. The vibe is pretty nice if you like Elvis music. Personally I feel like I would've preferred a more retro vibe. Service was alright for a cafeteria. The workers didn't seem particularly enthusiastic but they weren't rude or anything. I asked what a hushpuppy was and they just let me sample one, which was quite nice of them!

The meal was a solid 9/10 If you're in Memphis and you want some good BBQ made with heart and soul, then you should try Elwood's. The only thing missing from my meal that would've completed it for me was some hot buttery cornbread. I'll certainly be back to try their ribs and other foods!
