I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tivon and Rolling Stone Realty to a friend in need of a broker. After about a month of mostly fruitless apartment hunting on our own or with other brokers, Tivon and his wife immediately showed us two very viable options both within our immediate neighborhood of the time and in another section of Brooklyn we'd been looking at. They were both priced attractively/realistically, in a really over-inflated rental market, while also ticking off the various boxes that we viewed as important in our apartment hunt (dog-friendly, location, an actual 2-person sized 1-bedroom layout; not a "Jr 1-Bedroom" in broker speak etc). After deciding on the second apartment we viewed and applying, Tivon was able to negotiate the rent down slightly for us with management, was flexible with their broker fee, and was very eager to make sure the apartment was setup to our standards and requests upon move-in (while insisting we get in touch with him if any problems popped up after moving in). Moving and apartment hunting in New York is awful, but finding a good, trustworthy broker at least minimizes the frustration. Great experience working with these guys. We saw a string of apartments in a row at the end of August and Rolling Stone instantly stood out with professionalism and straightforward answers to our questions. In the end it came down to the Rolling Stone apartment and another in the next neighborhood over. Working with Tivon was such a pleasantly opposite experience!
