After reading some reviews on yelp we decided to have my son's 6th Birthday party here. We had not visited the store prior to booking and did everything on-line and on the phone. Be warned it is expensive but there are some coupons floating online for $50 off. Plus all the costs for the party need to be paid when you reserve which is odd but it worked. The kids had a blast with it. Everything was set up when we arrived. The kids battle their robots first and then build the robot you preselected. It is a little difficult for little hands to work the screws but everyone chipped in. After the build was done they raced them (we built the propeller robot). They had a lot of fun and now my 9 year old wants to have his party there. read more

I used to work here as one of the robotics professors from 2010 to 2012, and it was okay at best... But now, every time I visit, the place and the quality of staff just gets better and better. They must be doing something right, to be able to provide better working spaces and be able to have a more cohesive team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. read more

I just had my son's 8th birthday at the new Seeley's location of Rolling Robots. The new space is great. It has a raw industrial and cool vibe there. My son had a great time. The parents and kids seemed to enjoy themselves. The Dads liked the bathroom doors. Jason and Staff did an awesome job of assisting, guiding, and entertaining the partyers. Jason was funny and just a little irreverent(think Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka) The kids enjoyed the build, got to take their projects home, and also got Robo-bucks that could be used to purchase items in the store. There was plenty of space for parents to mingle or not. There was ample space for outside food. Best of all, I sit here writing this review very relaxed, nothing to clean up. We had my son's 7th birthday party here today. He chose to have a Minecraft party - since we don't allow him to play video games online, he was really excited to get to play with all of his friends. The employees helping with the party were really great. They made sure we had everything we needed and were really helpful with the kids while they were playing their game. And they didn't mind my two year old running around (they have a little section of the store with toys that are perfect for kids that age to play with too) and even let her "play" Minecraft with the older kids. And when we were done, they provided us with a wagon we could use to haul everything back to our car so we didn't have to carry it, since we had parked a couple blocks away. read more

My son loves these classes. The place is a bit disorganized, but I was finally able to resolve an issue with their website and billing after much persistence. Also, there were a couple of occasions where my son was disappointed (literally in tears once) b/c his efforts to work on his project were futile due to a bug or technical issue on their end. I recently had my son's 9th birthday party in the new Location. That was fantastic!!! He had a lot of fun. Kids enjoyed their robot competition and assembling their own one. That was a combination of fun and technology in a scientific and joyful environment. It seems that they had enough activity to be be bored for a second. We had my son's 9th birthday party at their new location (Brand and San Fernando in Glendale in the Seeley building). We had never been there before. The Rolling Roots staff made my son feel very special and he and his friends had a really great time. Jason and two others did all the work. They are great with kids, they kept the adults laughing, and they led the party through and through. This was one of the easiest birthday parties we have thrown. It's a little pricier than what we've spent in the past, however we could see the value. Having 3 people attentively helping the kids was great. I appreciated their flexibility with how many kids came - if more kids come than expected, they just take it in stride and handle it. Also very much appreciated was their flexibility with food. They were fine with us bringing in the cake and additional food (which they should be, but it always amazes me how some places force you to use only their menu). Parking is a little tricky when coming from San Fernando - you can't see the parking lot because it is on Brand just south of the building. I just had my son's birthday here and it was fabulous! I highly recommend this place for boy birthday parties. They took care of everything, the boys had a blast and it was a really fun, memorable party for all. My son and his guests have special needs so this was a perfect spot for them. The staff were great and sensitive to our needs. They made sure that each and every guest had a great time. The other nice part was parents could enjoy dining and shopping in the Americana while their kids had a blast at the party. A win win for all! This place is the best! I wish we lived closer and could go more often. I took my two girls (ages 3 & 8) in to do some robot battling and it was such a great way to get them excited about robot activities. They loved it! This is the place my son (9) absolutely begs to come to every week. He's been attending classes since September, and loved it so much that we bumped him to two classes a week. He's learning all types of programming (NOT just Mindcraft, thank goodness! though there can be plenty of that too), robotics, 3d printing, anything and everything that sparks his imagination. We signed up our youngest (6) as well, who's proving most dexterous with the robotics portion. The staff here are pretty incredible, very very into teaching the kids and going above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to pursuing things the kids are interested in that aren't on the schedule. One of the staff (Chrissy) is a geology major, and even helped out my youngest with his rock collection. Seriously can't say enough good thing about this place. So happy we found it. read more

We'd read about Rolling Robots online and decided to try it for my son's 9th birthday. I didn't have a chance to visit the store before hand but the website made it very easy to plan the party. Someone confirmed a few days before and made it very easy to figure the logistics and answered the few questions I had. Everything went very smoothly- they were ready for us to arrive, the birthday area was spotless and the employees, all in white lab coats were organized and friendly and great and handling the 10 boys that we had with us. They validated our parking for us, organized a bellhop to help us to the car with the gifts, the food was hot and on time and the cake was really good- not supermarket cake- the real deal with actual strawberries and cream. Overall, it was a great experience- the boys loved it and so did we. read more

Just had a party at Rolling Robots Palos Verdes June 2, 2013. This was the best party ever. My 4 year old had a ball. He loves his robot and we will surely return. I was afraid that it might be to advanced for him, needless to say we had a ball! The staff was great, very patient and attentive to all of the children. Jason and Tony were the best. Our party was a hit! Everything already done, no clean up, we all walked out together at the end of the party. NO CLEAN UP THIS WAS A PLUS. Everyone was very impressed with the place, and how Rolling Robots have turned learning into fun. Great job I love this place and if I lived closer I would have my child in the SUMMER CAMP AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAMS. I HOPE TO SEE A ROLLING ROBOT IN MY AREA IN THE NEAR FUTURE. My son has been coming here since he was 2 years old and this is his favorite place to go. He just turned 4 and he had his birthday party at Rolling Robots. It was the best birthday party ever! The staff was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable. Many of my son's friends had such a great time and will be returning to battle robots and work at the robot lego table. Heard several good things about this place, so decided to surprise my son with having his 11th birthday celebration here. Booked the party (for my son and 10 friends). When he realized where we was and how he was going to celebrate his birthday, he was SO excited! While waiting for friends to arrive - the kids were handed remote controls for robots to zip and spin it out in a fun battle arena. (Not sure if our kids or the parents enjoyed it more!) We were particularly impressed with the Robot Build, led by the fantastic staff. We ended the day with pizza and birthday cake. The kids had a GREAT time, as did the parents - who were also were impressed with how well our kids followed instructions during the robot building workshop. The staff was a highlight as well, helpful throughout the entire process from booking to facilitating the party. Jason, Tony, and particularly Jason (manager) were enthusiastic, extremely adept with orchestrating the workshop and assisting the kids, while also keeping the parents laughing and duly entertained (can we come back for a party of our own?!). I would, hands-down, absolutely recommend Rolling Robots for kids... and parents alike! :) read more

My daughter took two summer camp classes and she really enjoyed them. She learned so much. I wanted a place to nurture my daughter's interest and at the same time make it really enjoyable. If you have a gamer techno kid, take them over to Rolling Robots. My son did two weeks of the summer camp and it was not just playing video games; he learned coding (computer languages) which is intellectual and scientific in an amazingly fun way! All of the staff was friendly, helpful (his special favorite was Naomi) and interested in the success of each student. We hosted our sons Birthday party here and there are things I liked about it and things I didn't. I will start with the positives. When you first arrive for your party, your guests can battle robots in an arena. The kids really enjoyed this part. I wish they would have allowed more time for this as it was one of the highlights. Also, I wish the robots were checked prior to a party. Most of the robots needed battery changes or had some sort of problem. It didn't take long to correct the problems but when you are limited in time in the first place it would be great if everything worked. Then all the children go to the main room to build their robots. Again, this was fun and they even allowed us to switch out a few roots for the younger kids due to the difficulty level. However, we spent WAY TO MUCH TIME building the robots and had little or no time at the end to play with them. A few of the kids were frustrated with the build since it was harder than it looked, even some of the parents that were helping out looked puzzled. We really liked that each child got to decorate and personalize their robot once they got them built. Since the building took so long we were pretty rushed when it came time to eating and cutting the cake. I really feel that for the prices they charge, which is quite expensive, they should allow for more time so it isn't a rushed experience. Overall this was a fun and unique experience but I would not come back or recommend it to a friend unless they extend the party hours or drop their prices. Not worth so much money! read more

We had a VERY memorable birthday party experience at this Rolling Robots location in the Americana outdoor shopping center. The party hosts were great... friendly, helpful and attentive to take care of things. The parent/child robot building experience is great and fun for both. Using the Living Social $25 off voucher, I booked my 9-year old twin boys' birthday party. The party was so much fun that at least 3 parents told me the next day that their kids had a blast. We upgraded to the Propeller Racer (not shown on the online options) for $4 each for 9-year old kids (including 3 not-girly-girl girls) and Robox for a couple of 4-year old girl cousins. The robots were perfectly age-appropriate. The kids had lots of fun in the robot battle arena before the building part of the party. We brought our own food because I am sick of pizza kids' parties and I made cupcakes. They had tablecloths all set up for us and cleaned up for us afterwards. Parents loved it too because they were able to drop off their kids and just enjoy walking around the shops. Rolling Robots validated our parking but everyone else was on their own and managed to find places (Did you know Beard Papa's and Wetzels validate?). The booking was a bit of a pain-- I had to go in because I was little confused by the online booking system. The associate helped me book it and it was a little more than I expected -- I didn't realize there is a $100 base fee on top of the per child fee. And when I told him I wanted to pre-pay the whole thing and get 10% off, I had to book for 12 children instead of the usual 10 children minimum. But it was fine, I ended up needing 13 altogether anyway. There was some confusion again at the party when I paid for the extra child -- they tried to charge me again for the robot upgrade that I already paid for but we worked that out. I was bummed when I saw a $50 off coupon a couple of weeks before the party but it would've been too late for me to use anyway. Overall, it was a great party. The price was comparable to almost every other place I've been to and my kids said it was their favorite. read more

Had my son's 6th birthday party at the PV location. He and his friends had a great time! They not only got to build their own "Smart-bot", but they got to use remote controlled robots in the battle arena to fight each other and what kid doesn't like a remote control toy?!? The hosts for the party were very funny and helpful to all the kids and adults. My nephew had so much fun that now he wants to have his next birthday party there too! Since my party allowed for up to 10 kids, but I only had 8 kids, the hosts allowed my son to take home 2 additional robot kits to build at home. I had actually forgotten about it and the hosts actually went out of their way to make sure I got 10 building kits for the price I paid. Very Nice! Great party for boys! read more

Our Brownie Troop earned their "inventor" patch by building a robot at Rolling Robot's Palos Verdes, CA location. We had 3 people assiged to our 12 girl troop which helped greatly since they were all 7 year olds. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The girls got to take home the robots they built. We booked a party for our son's 10th birthday. The whole experience exceeded our expectations! Our son, along with his 4 friends all have a diagnosis of autism. The party was so well facilitated and the staff so great that all of the boys, plus two toddlers were fully engaged for 2 hours working according to common causes of robot battles, building and racing. Just had our son's 7th birthday party at Rolling Robots. We were blown away by the entire experience! It's edu-tainment, at it's finest! When we arrived, they allowed us to decorate the room a little early. Then they started pumping some fun tunes while the kids were each given a remote control robot to battle in the giant Robo arena for 30 minutes. We had a full house -- 20 kids ... and they all had their own robot! Fantastic! Then they moved into the party room/lab where they each child built a robot propeller car, led by Jason, the Robot Master. He and his team did an amazing job managing a group of 20, seven year old kids--not an easy task. He even added humor to the process, which the adults couldn't help but appreciate. Once the cars were complete, food was served and a great time was had by all. They were extremely well staffed and VERY helpful. They even helped us carry all of our decorations out to the car. We received a ton of compliments from parents who loved the educational aspect behind the party ... many parents said they would be bringing their kids back. My only critique is that it could use a little face lift. It looks like an older property compared to Pacific Palisades, L.A., etc., but it's still worth it! Huge props to Jason and his entire team who helped make it such a great day for our children. We're raving fans of Rolling Robots ... and we'll be back! read more

We had our son's 7th birthday party here 11/2013. We had a very large event with over 31 kids. Due to the size we needed both rooms available. You have to pay for 2 rooms so keep this in mind when booking. Also, be aware that if you don't book both rooms, there may be another party going on at the same time- this is not a big deal for smaller parties though. The location looks really cool and it is very spacious. It was nice to have the whole place to ourselves since we had all the parents and siblings there as well. It was a first for many families and certainly a novel experience for most of the kids. You can bring your own food or order pizza through them. We brought our own snacks- robot themed and juice/water. You can order their cake which is pretty convenient. The thing that blew me away was the staff. There were several staff members there to help with the robot build and with the time playing with the robots in the arena. The staff made it totally worth it to have an event there. They had a gift of engaging with the kids and giving them a great experience. There is only 15 minutes of set-up time which is a bit of challenge. One issue we had was a few parents went to the old location first at the Americana even though we gave them the new address at the Seeley building. A few guests were about 45 minutes late due to this. I recommend sending an e-mail to all the guests the day before reminding them to go to the new location. All in all, it was my son's best birthday party ever and all his guests left with smiles on their faces and robots in their hands. read more
