My boy has been going here a month. He seems to love it. I'm deducting a star just because it's not as organized as I'd like it to be but from a kids perspective I'd recommend it.

We celebrated my son's 5th bday at their Glendale location this past weekend. Lindsay was great and helped coordinate our event. The instructors Amy and Zooey were amazing and so great with our group of 20 kiddos. It was a blast and our little guy had an amazing time. Thank you again to everyone at Rolling Robot's. Looking forward to sending our little guys to summer camp next year.

Cool, as cool can get for kids to get a hands-on look at robots! I just had my son's birthday party here, and if there is one advice, I'd suggest, it's that this place is definitely more catered to kids at least 7yrs or older. *Despite what the age group says for our Dinobot assembly From the getgo, the customer service was on point: 150% on a score of 1-100! I was really impressed! I found the site when I was searching the web for original and different birthday party venues. For my son, he loves anything that entails assembling, and gadgets lately. I made my reservation for my party date online with a ten children-minimum at one price, and $25 for each additional child/robot kit. The order form requires $100 deposit and allows you to order a sheet cake ($50 OR SO) They just supply a few birthday banners, nothing to rave about, and table cloths, I brought everything else I'd need. Anytime I needed to have a question answered, they immediately replied to any of my email inquiries within 24 hrs. Alex was especially polite and helpful. I was able to decorate a small narrow space in the back of the store with a party banner, balloons, small icechest, and food and cake. Once arriving the day of the party, I was assisted with carts at my car to help carry everything for th party. I'm sorry I can't recall his name who had helped me, he had glasses, and a goatee, and he was the one who took my parking ticket to have validated at a different location. *Validating is only for the event hosts. Even though I was 20 minutes late, they assured me it was ok to go a bit over the scheduled event times, as there wouldn't be another event after mine. I was so relieved!!! There was just enough room for about 12-20 kids to be seated comfortably. Adults would have standing room. While I was advised parents did not need to stay, I'm so grateful that all my parents were present because most of my younger guests needed all the help they could get. We had about 4 Rolling Robot technicians/staff helping our group of ten children. Overalll, the kids really enjoyed assembling their Dinobots and they are battery-operated motors. Even a week later, ours has stayed in tact *with the help of some double-stick tape too. I created his birthday invitation using metallic miniature party bags and turning them into robots, and placing inside the invitations that Rolling Robots provides on their website. The maps are even enclosed on the invitation. I had to include a map of the store location, though, and valet/self-parking information (even a list of all the venues at Americana at Brand that DO validate as a courtesy) Rolling Robots is located at Americana at Brand, ON Colorado (opposite end of the water fountain) There's a Pinkberry and Jamba Juice *or maybe Juice it Up?.. next to them. If RR is on your left side, then self-parking is immediately available just past them. We were not able to park Valet due to a Farmer's Market going on that Saturday. All my guests received a 50% off coupon too, I believe. While we did not get to battle our robots, there is a small arena displayed and for $3, visitors can also battle the robots already assembled in this arena. I did not have time to do any shopping myself, but I definitely plan on returning and checking things out again when I can! Thank you, Rolling Robots for a memorable birthday for my son!!

When my son upgraded to VERSION 8.0 this was the most LOGICAL place to celebrate. The children BOLTED over to the Battle Arena and went NUTS over the robot battle. They had a BLAST assembling their robots. Each kid gets to take home their own personally assembled robot, making Goodie bags OBSOLETE. After building the robots everyone was GEARED up to eat. This was the easiest birthday party ever; I even had time to make a homemade robot cake. No need to stress about cooking, decorations, cleanup, etc. What's not to love about this place? Bleep..... Boop....Bop.....Bleep End Transmission

He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

He finished summer camp and I put him in Winter Camp for 1 day this year (Friday, 29th). When I picked him up that day I realized it was the last day of winter camp. Unfortunately, the dates I need for my son to be in camp are the first week of Jan. rather than the week of Christmas, since he's off both weeks. I think their schedule is different than my sons school, which is understandable. Either way, it's a great camp and he will be returning in the summer.

It's a great place for kids who prefer things like video production, animation, and gaming instead of the usual athletic camp activities. It was also super easy to sign up online, it was affordable, and I felt very safe leaving my kid in their care. My ONLY complaint is that they haven't aligned their winter camp dates with the local elementary school vacation schedules. I realize it's likely an issue of location (the camp is held at a school on a different academic calendar), but this is such a great program, it would be life changing to have it available for us working parents of creative/indoor kids throughout the first week of January, too. Either way, we're looking forward to coming back soon.

Camp Shi'ini is a day camp based in Pasadena with pick up and drop off at your residence. Hours are from 8:30am to 4:30pm approximately. This is a day camp that emulates the feeling of a going away camp so that kids can really have that real camp taste while not being so far from home. It's the best of both worlds- no homesickness and kinship with their "cabins" aka tribes. The vans that come to pick up and drop off are very new, air conditioned, and clearly display the camp logo on the door; they are driven by alumni campers who are college bound counselors. They are polite, are great with kids, and have great affinity and loyalty to the camp. It's so much like a real camp the campers love coming back every year and growing up with their camp buddies. Lunches have to be packed by yourselves but the kids are so active during the day they will pretty much demolish whatever is packed. Also any power bars or snacks. We froze a bottled water every night before camp so that the water stayed chilled during the day. Weeks 1-4 they do a variety of activities such as canoeing, archery, horseback riding, and camp lore storytelling and enactment by the counselers. They begin each day with the Camp shi'ini cheer, hiking, camp activities, lunch outdoors, crafts with nice materials, swimming at the pool, playtime at a park, and end with a chapter of their camp lore stories that are dramatised with special effects including use of a drone. Outings include Sunset Beach day and a visit to Ghost Town. Week 5/ the final week of camp consists of olympics where the kids participate in relay type races and silly old fashioned kid fun such as wrapping up their counselor in cloth bandages like a mummy. They serve hot dogs and a variety of fruit drinks at the finale, marking a great end to the camp.

We had experienced issues with other camp who we ended up having to dispute with credit card company to get a refund, but NOT with Spartan. They issued refund when we requested it, problem solved. Comes 2021, we were ready to try again. Booked 2 weeks, then my son broke his arm on the first day of summer. Called the owner and explained what happened and she was ready to issue a full refund, but I asked for credit instead. Finally, this year! My son went for two weeks and loved it! We had signed him up for other camps, surfing camp, Steve & Kate, all were fun and good, but he said this was by far his favorite, and asked that we only send him to Spartan next year. I like how they rotate them through different sports/activities each day (I think 9 total), and he came home everyday dirty, sweaty, exhausted but HAPPY! He said he learned new sports, and made new friends. I also really appreciate that they have the store card option available each week you can purchase, so they have $20 they can spend at their little snack shop (without having to send them to camp with cash), and can be used towards Kona Ice on certain days. I think that is a great way for kids to learn to manage their budget and feel independent. Last but not least, at the end of the week, they send pictures and video (included it the registration) to all the campers so we get to see all the fun stuff they did that week! Overall, if you have a kid who loves to spend time outdoor, playing sports, staying busy, I would highly recommend Spartan. The drop off and pick up is super easy. Although sometimes the line might seem long, but it goes fairly quick and I've never waited more than 5-10 mins to drop off/pick up. Counselors were also very friendly and energetic!

He loves the counselors and leadership staff as do we. All of Camp KK staff is incredible. They are super responsive, accommodating, and most importantly, take wonderful care of the children. There are too many to name, but Ignacious, Debbie, the Executive Director, "Eor", "Crush", "Sketch" and "Smile" are but a few. Programming - I love that we can drop off as early as 730 am and pick up as late as 6pm. the children are taken to the beach every Friday, swimming 1x per week, and another super fun field trip 1x week as well. KK has been doing this for so long that they know exactly how to build the infrastructure to ensure our kids safety while having a blast. Thanks for making my son's summer exceptionally fun all while allowing us parents to keep our full work weeks in tact.
