My seven year old son loves Rolling Robots! He goes to almost every Minecraft night and he looks forward to it all week. He likes that he gets to socialize with other Minecraft players and also with the employees who are super friendly and patient. And my husband and I like that we can go out to dinner every other week while he's having fun. He likes Minecraft night so much that we recently tried out their coding class on Tuesdays and he's loving that, too. There is structure in that the kids work with certain kits or robots during the class, but the instructor also lets them do plenty of experimenting. I like the way Rolling Robots does their sign ups: you buy a certain amount of classes but then you rsvp individually for classes when you're available. It's great for us because we can't always make every single class or event, so we don't end up wasting money on missed classes. read more

We had my twins 7th Birthday party at Rolling Robots and found it to be the best decision made... Pros: Clean location with plenty of lounge space for adults to drink and grab a snack while the kids are entertained. I was able to reach someone anytime of the day and when I left a voicemail message, I got a call right back! Cons: None. Just plan around parking. The Westside Pavilion has free 3 hour parking but most of my guest were able to use the space afforded to them by Rolling Robots. My 8 year old has been taking coding classes here for the last few years. We have been extremely happy with the level of teaching here. Some of the concepts he has learned have been at a college level - this is something my son was very proud of! His teacher, Ricky It is extremely competent, patient and fun. The owner, Bing has been super helpful and keeps track of my sons progress always checking in. If you are looking for coding classes, you will be very happy with the curriculum at Rolling Robots. Very cool spot to have a kids birthday. Had our sons birthday there and my son had a amazing time. He loved the concept. The employees were very very helpful setting up and cleaning up. Kids loved playing with the robots. Making, assembling and playing with the robots was their true highlight. If your kids are into this stuff I highly suggest having your kids party here. read more

What a fun place. Kids can build, take classes, 3d Print and engage in huge robot battles. I bet you wish this was the birthday location for your 13th birthday. There is an official robot pit. The people who work there are intelligent, nice and accommodating. Honestly I'm thinking of having a nighttime adult party here. read more

We had a small party for our son's 7th birthday at this location and the kids had an AMAZING time! Jake, the manager, was fantastic and made the entire process so easy. He took the initiative to give me all the information I needed to plan the party, including suggesting craft supplies to decorate the particular robot we had chosen. The day of the party, the staff were accommodating, kind, patient and very knowledgeable in dealing with young kids. The parents loved watching the kids handle the screwdriver and build the robots by themselves. Highly recommend this place! read more

My son was invited to a birthday party there for a friend in his 10th birthday. All the kids seemed to have had a great time while battling robots and then playing MindCraft. The ten gave them a time to eat and then to cut the cake. I think they should have music in the background just to give the room more life. We were initially introduced to RR when my son was invited to a party there. This is a great spot. We both had a great time. The staff was all over it ensuring everyone had a good time. An overall cool experience for kids, as for many it may be the first time they get to build robots. Essentially our birthday party experience was building a simple kit, which for some kids was a bit frustrating. If your kid has some experience building Lego's, they should be fine, but if not, make sure to ask for help from one of the friendly employees. Looks like there are plenty of options for the older kids as well. We'll have to try and visit a few more times in the future. read more

A great place with highly skilled, kind, robot building scientists. My son is fully passionate about robotics and Dr K., Bing and Tom are literally Boeing rocket scientists that know what they are doing and are great with kids. They know deadlines, design processes, work flows and philosophies that are wold class and they pass that to the kids. We switched from a school robotics program to Rolling Robotics so our son could compete on a championship team. Even though RR won at worlds in Vex last year you wouldn't know by how humble everyone is. This is a great place for our son to differentiate himself from his school piers. For us, the only con is the drive. We are driving from Tarzana to go there, and it is well worth it. read more

Stopped by just to check it out with my 5 year old son and was amazed. This place is awesome. They have robot toys, a robot battle arena (which they let the kids operate the robots using remote controls). They have robot building classes for different age groups (even ones for kids as young as 4-6) and were in the process of helping a group of 7 year old make some pretty sophisticated robots when we stopped by. We spent at least 45 minutes in the shop just marveling at it. They have workshops, party spaces - it is a robot lovers paradise. We are coming back... Often. read more

We just had our son's birthday party here and it was awesome. The 15 kids had a fantastic time - hats off to Jeff and Mike for coordinating and helping the little guys (mostly 5-6 year olds) build their crab shaped robots. They had an amazing time and it made for a unique experience for them. The kids loved it as did the parents. Our little guy was on cloud 9! We would highly recommend this as a child party option - it was smart, fun and well organized. The place is clean, bright and the folks are very helpful. attended a bday party here. the good is that i felt the employees were very dedicated to their jobs. there was one woman (she wore a scarf) who catered to the kids needs from the very beginning. many people arrived early so the robots on the fighting pit were not all set up yet but she never got annoyed at the kids constantly shoving controllers on her face. she was very professional ran around the whole party attending to various tasks. i had to take two stars away because the place is loud. im going to continue my yelp while yelling so you can experience a bday party at rolling robots. the second employee yelled at the top of her lungs from the time she ended robot wars to the time she completed the building project. it was so loud many parents didnt want to come in and help their children. i suggest a speaker system with a wireless mic. other than that, things were good. read more

We went to a seven-year-old birthday party there. All the kids had a lot of fun. The robots were pretty easy to build. The kids especially liked battling their robots after they built them. Unfortunately, our robots had an accident when we brought it home. We came back the next day and the staff was great at helping us fix it. My son was very excited about his fixed robot. My son: "You are nice because you fixed my robot for free" We will definitely be back, maybe for our own birthday party next year. We are already looking at maybe getting one of the robots for Christmas. The games looked very cool too. read more

I'm not a big reviewer, but i really felt this establishment deserved a write up. We held our 9 year old's birthday party here yesterday, and we were BEYOND impressed. The way the staff dealt with 20 9 year-old boys was inspiring. They were so patient and kind, not an easy feat, when 20 children are using tiny screwdrivers, wires and screws, all of them needing some kind of assistance. The kids had an absolute blast. Besides constructing their own robots, they had the opportunity to battle each other with remote controlled robots that are set up in a giant fighting ring. The place was clean, well designed, and very welcoming. Despite this location being far from where most of our guests live, I am absolutely sure that their parents will be reserving this spot for their parties just as we did. read more

My son LOVES robots so having his birthday party here was an obvious choice. He's only 4 so I was a little worried that the robots would be a little too complex for him and his friends or that they would lose interest but our experience was the complete opposite. The kids (ages 3-4, and one 5 year old) had an amazing time - the robots were the perfect level of complexity and the kids had so much fun building and then "battling". The staff was really helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. Every parent was very impressed and several thanked me for having it here. The kids (and parents) were engaged the entire time, there were no lulls or awkward gaps between transitioning from building to demonstrations to the battle. The space is also pretty big where you can invite a lot of people (we had 30 adults, 10 kids) but not so big that you'll lose a child. I think the parents appreciated that they didn't have to watch over their kids constantly, there was some comfort knowing that they were "somewhere around here". The only thing I would suggest is that they leave more time in between parties. I don't think 30 mins is enough time for one party to clean-up and for the next to set up (our party ended at 3 and the next party started at 3:30). The parents of the party following ours were visibly irritated that we weren't out of the door by 3. I understood their frustration but our party ended at 3, there was no way we'd be up and out by then. Logistically, it doesn't make sense even though the staff was working very hard to help us clean up. Oh yeah, they helped us set up too, I really appreciated that. Otherwise, everything was perfect and I highly recommend this place to any parent looking for a fun and educational place to have a party. read more

I just had a birthday party here for my 6 year old. We had 20 kids and about 20 adults. They were extremely accomodating, communicated well, and the party ran very smoothly. Robert, the manager, answered my questions promptly during the pre-party planning. The organizers on the day of (sorry! i forgot their names) gave clear instructions on robot assembly and party directions. It was an educational and fun way to celebrate my son's birthday with his friends. The parents had to help with robot assembly, but the 2 staffers also came around to help. There are a few parking spots in their parking lot, and there's also nearby parking at westside pavillion. I highly recommend this location for parties. read more
