A new Vietnamese sandwich bar in the QV food court! And by the looks of the lines at lunchtime, office workers around QV have been hanging out for decent Vietnamese rolls for ages. Judging by the number of people waiting to pick up their food, Roll'd are doing a great job at satisfying that pent up demand. You can choose from four types of roll, or pho, or salads. They also sell rice paper rolls (which they call "Soldiers"), and some classic Vietnamese drinks.
I tried the classic Vietnamese pork roll, which has pate, pork, pork sausage, carrot, cucumber, chili and coriander on a nice French-style baguette. It was pretty good, but could have been made with a little more care. It wasn't the best pork roll I've had (that honour goes to N.Lee Bakery in Little Collins Street), but it was still very tasty and at $6.50 was good value.
The staff are well-organised and the food is good value. read more
