Coffee Culture in Melbourne is exceptional and Patricia delivers, being named the Best Coffee in Australia! The place is booming even early morning, where both locals grabbing the best coffee in town, as well as, curious visitors come to explore this special experience. The hole-in-the-wall style coffee shop is unassuming, quaint and rather charming. The staff is always busy and trying to keep the long lines moving while making sure to provide excellent service throughout. Patricia roasts their own beans and deliver consistent, high quality results every time. While you are there, don't forget to grab canelés! I would highly recommend you grab some of their beans to go - both for gifts for the coffee lovers in your life, as well as, for yourselves when you are back home and missing Patricia.

An awesome flat white with oat for a reasonable price? Count me in! It's a simple menu, designed to keep the guesswork out--do you want milk or without? Or a pour over? Oat only was .30 more. So nice when all around it's been upwards to $1 extra. Unfortunately they don't take the care in pouring art when doing takeaway. Note to all--have it there, save a paper cup, enjoy art and the scene.

Patricia's has maintained a true hole-in-the-wall experience in the middle of Melbourne's busy coffee scene! The prices and coffee quality are great, and I loved the simplicity of the menu. This is a great place for a grab-and-go snack or drink. There's some makeshift seating outside the cafe (carts, boxes, and one bench), but there's only standing room inside. The menu is small and simple.. white, black, and a filter. We ordered the white and black and both were pretty strong with nutty flavors. We also got a hazelnut cake, which was much more dense and thick than I was expecting. This was also far too sweet for me on its own, but it was a nice contrast with unsweetened coffee.

Melbourne is well known for it's coffee culture, and given all the rave reviews for Patricia's, I knew I had to check it out. I tried a flat white with the house blend and it was absolutely delicious- the cup was robust and creamy, with strong notes of dark chocolate. Though there is often a line here, it moves very quickly and the staff offers still or sparkling water while you wait (~ 5 minutes after placing your order). There is minimal space inside the shop but there are multiple milk crates outside too for makeshift seating.

This is definitely the best coffee shop in Australia. I love this place where they know you by your name and the coffee is accurately professionally made.

Absolutely loved this coffee shop! This was recommended to me by my cousin from Melbourne, who roasts his own coffee and is very particular which coffee shop he goes to. It's not hard to find and located close to Chinatown. Small shop but plenty of workers preparing cups of heaven quickly. We ordered at the front a flat white and husband got his substituted with oat milk. They also had coffee beans for sale for a reasonable price, so I got one as a gift. Once we got our coffees, that first sip was heaven. Perfect taste, the coffee tastes almost chocolate like and wasn't sour. Exactly my favorite type of coffee to drink. It woke me up for the next few hours! There were tons of crates to sit on outside with art work on the walls. Lovely spot to grab a cup and enjoy people watching. Service was really friendly, especially towards tourists with lots of questions. Love how patient they were and didn't seem irritated when I had no clue how to buy coffee beans for a friend.

Hole-in-the-wall, huge lines outside -- I had to try it. Efficient personnel (fast turnaround), interesting selection of sweet treats and coffee coffee coffee. Not much space inside so not a hangout spot. Fun experience... Hint: 'iced white' = iced latte

super duper hip coffee place. All the local people were lined up to get their coffee so I needed to give it a try. This place is sorta hidden. It's in small alley and the door is located in like a small parking lot outside. But you can't miss it because there are tons of people drinking a cup of coffee outside the alley. I realized Melbourne coffee is very simple. Cold or hot. and white, black, or filtered. It was hot outside so i decided to get cold, but I SHOULD HAVE gotten hot to taste the real coffee. (I am a newbie) Melbourne also doesn't have different cup size. Just one size for all. very small which I liked. Price was around 6 dollars. Pretty decent. I would recommend.

The first sign of a good place are long lines and people hanging about outside while enjoying their coffee. This place has won best coffee in Australia in 2016 as well and the owners were formerly of Seven Seeds. Coffee only comes in three styles--white, black, and filter. My partner and I both ordered the white in the Patricia house blend and were offered water to sip whilst we waited by the very friendly baristas. There's not much room in this cafe. It's designed to be mostly for take away, but there are a scant few bar stools scattered along the walls. Very clean, minimal decor, and the baristas wear very cool leather aprons. Smooth, rich, buttery. Am I talking about coffee or pastries? The first sip was heavenly. Coming from a city not known for having many great coffee haunts, it was like I finally understood how coffee was supposed to taste. It was at the perfect drinkable temperature as well, which is apparently because milk needs to be steamed only up until a certain point before the proteins start breaking down, as I was informed. I didn't even know it was a thing! Thank you, Patricia Coffee, for educating me and giving me an experience in coffee I'll never forget. Coffee is ruined for me after having coffee here. I will be dreaming about this place until my partner and I can return. Even my partner says in all the trips to Melbourne he's made in the past, he's never had such an excellent cup of coffee until now.

Rated as one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. This is definitely a must try but then totally would depend on your taste and liking. Some people love it, others not so much but for me I dont mind. You wont get all fancy options/ types in coffee. They serve the basic latte, long black and espresso, which keeps it nice and simple. Small shop tucked in corner is always busy.

We were pretty full from our lunch, but upon arriving, our bellies were at once again ready to go! I'm more of a fruit tart type of gal, so I went for the Lemon Tart (6.8). The others had the Brownie & Passionfruit Chocolate Gateau (8.6) and the Hazelnut Millefeuille (8.6). We essentially shared our desserts, so I got to try all three! I loved the Lemon Tart, as it was neither too sweet or sour, and I love tart pastries! Although it's difficult to go wrong with a lemon tart - there definitely wasn't any added or artificial flavor that shouldn't have been there. The Hazelnut Millefeuille was also delicious, as it reminded me of a Ferrero Rocher. It was definitely richer, so it was difficult for me to have too much, but puff pastry always does it for me. The brownie cake was also really delicious, and was a good balance of all the flavors, especially with the layer of passionfruit. They do an afternoon coffee and dessert special for $9 that we should have done, but we didn't see it until after! The place actually reminded me a bit of a petit Le Bon Choix in Brisbane, but definitely with better tasting desserts and better service!

Little cake. Extraordinary flavors…read more A charming little shop located in a quiet alley of Little Collins. Upon walking in, I felt I had entered a high-end cake boutique. On display behind immaculately clean glass were dozens upon dozens of colorful and perfectly delectable French pastries. The Mister Green Tea (what a witty name for a cake) caught my eyes immediately. Absolutely enchanting with perfectly crafted raspberry jam and gold leaf on top of a faint green tea cake, it completely stole my breath away. Upon looking closer, the tiny pastries were made with black sesame sable base and green tea mousse. And as I bit into it, I found the center filled with luscious raspberry cremeux. Everything about it is a testament to perfection and deliciousness! I also got their Matcha Latte, and it was just as sensational as the rest of the desserts. That green tea was light yet rich, slightly bitter to counter the sweetness of the cakes. Beautiful in both presentation and taste! The price may be quite steep for such a small plate of dessert ($9.90) and a cup of latte ($6), but to find a rare gem like this certainly makes up for once in a lifetime experience.

If you are in Melbourne/Australia, you should definitely give Laurent a try!!…read moreThis is one of the best, and one of my favorites Bakery/Cafe I have been to. I tried their Hot Chocolate & dessert cake, called "Monte Carlo". It's a Chocolate mousse with cafe creme & chocolate biscuit covered with milk chocolate glaze. The glaze outside was shinny, smooth, and light, which is perfect for me. Texture, creamy, but not too sweet. Dessert was great, and Hot Chocolate too. Located in the city, 5 to 7 minutes away from Flinders Street railway station by train (Melbourne, Victoria). A cute, nice, fancy French bakery/cafe in the city, nothing can be better than spend a free day with your friends/love/family at Laurent. Services and staffs are great! I didn't have to wait for long, they take good order, and give you great recommendations, and ask for your opinions after. Customers will always feel welcomed, and happy when the staffs are always smiling. Overall, great place + dessert! Try it out, if you have a chance, definitely worth it. Love and miss this place.

I've been to France on the odd occasion, and I must say that every time I was in a Parisian bakery I'd think to myself "Wow, this feels a lot like Blackburn." That's not entirely true, but Blackburn and France are joined with a wonderful bakery serving the most delicious french pastries and more. Wit both owners as pastry chefs, you wont find a better place in a good ten kilometres of here. The only problem I've had every time I go it "What to have?" which often leads to "What to have first?" Vanilla slice with delicious flaky pastry. Tarts. Meringues. Eclairs. Cheesecakes. Truffles. The list goes on. For those after a more savoury selection, there is also pasties, quiches and pies. All bits are made fresh daily on the premises, so the best time to come is mid morning for the best selection available. Come any later and you may miss out. The coffee is a wonderful strong addition to the sugary sweetness of the pastries, and all the energy will keep you going until your next meal.
