Admission for this event was only $5 so it's less than regular admission but you don't get to explore as much for the gardens and it's a bit cordoned off at night. Since it was so hot I went for the watermelon and cucumber gazpacho and their refreshing Chul 75. We also shared the carnitas nachos which were more like pulled pork so that was a little disappointing. But overall it was a fun date night where we go to see some cool art and live music with lots of cute and cozy places to explore and relax. Definitely worth checking out!

There was a free movie being projected on the side of a building at one end, near the firetruck. There were belly dancers at the other end, near the food vendors. The problem was... there just wasn't much in between. I hope they cont. to have the fire trucks... the kids loved it. And on that note, I'd like to apologize for my friend cutting in front of all the parents and kids who were waiting for their turn in the firetruck. He didn't see the line and I was way in the back, wondering where he went! lol I think he cut in line anyway... or else how did he get up there so fast?! It's still something cool and free to do on a lazy Sat night, if you're in the area. Might see ya there... if I lived in Tuscon.

This event is just that good! The entertainment is awesome! Sometimes at events, you have to wonder why certain entertainers were invited because they don't fit with the vibe. This was not the case at the bunch of 2nd Saturdays we've been to. The various entertainment matches the vibe of Tucson perfectly! The music is loud enough so you can hear it from the stage to the eating area, which is great so you can enjoy it while you eat. I love the vendors that line the streets, selling cool, often handmade, items that you don't see in stores every day. Lots of cool stuff to look at and buy, and a lot of it can make great gifts. And I just love that the Pima County Library brings their book truck there sometimes, and they give away free books! It's always a good thing to get books in the hands of the community. The selection of food trucks and vendors at 2nd Saturdays is pretty decent. So good, in fact, that we never eat from just one place. We tend to try as much stuff as our bellies can hold, and we don't regret it one bit because most of the food is really delicious! I'd love to see maybe a couple more places join up, there seems to be room down one of the streets, but that's just me being greedy to try more food. Overall, we really love 2nd Saturdays Downtown, and we will keep planning our 2nd Saturdays around this awesome Tucson event!

The music is a mixed bag, but there are so many acts that there is definitely some great stuff. The main headliner this year, Tom Rush, was great. Food options are not as good as at Tucson Meet Yourself, but I was still able to enjoy a wide variety of mostly good food over the course of the three days. I ran into many friends and acquaintances there, which was also fun. I look forward to this all year!

The museum goes in a path around and through the building, starting with the history and background of how AZ became a state, notable people from AZ history and then goes into the history of Geronimo, mining & unionizing. There were various display cases of rocks and minerals. There are exhibits that have some audio, although not all the buttons were working. There is info about how motorized vehicles came to AZ, as well as WWII and information about Mt. Lemmon being an internment camp site. There is a ramp on the eastern entrance that is wheelchair and stroller accessible. However, the upstairs interaction exhibit for kids is not wheelchair/stroller accessible, at least we did not see an elevator. The bathroom did not have a changing table unfortunately for families with kids needing diaper changes... It's a quaint history museum and great opportunity for people to learn more about AZ history.

So, after living in Tucson for 20 years we decided to finally check out the Tucson Rodeo along with…read morethe parade on a Thursday. We went into it not really knowing what to expect in terms of parking, crowds, services or fun factor. In a few words = we had fun. I am sure there are people that go every year, and I would say it is a must to do at least once if you enjoy a good solid rodeo (not that I would consider myself an expert on any level!) We easily found street parking by accident super close to the rodeo grounds, although they do offer parking for $10. We had bought our tickets a few weeks in advance online and I actually bought an extra ticket and I am glad I did as it is stand seating and very narrow so it gave us a bit more 'breathing room'. I was actually looking at the Vaquero Club seating but they were sold out so I imagine you need to buy these types of tickets well in advance. Our seats were great as we were in section B and directly in front of where all the action happens. It was fun watching the various events (barrel racing, roping, etc.) for both the Juniors and Adults. Lots of food, drink and retail type services within the rodeo grounds along with clean restrooms and friendly staff/volunteers.

We were in town visiting this past February and it happened to be the 100th anniversary of the…read morerodeo, so we knew we had to visit, especially as we hadn't been to a rodeo before. We really enjoyed visiting the vendors and we enjoyed some sausages and fry bread for lunch. The rodeo was fun as well and it was really interesting to see all the events. The tour started with a short, 6-minute video about the origin of the museum. Then, our guide, Bill ,was a wealth of information, and was so engaging with my granddaughter, honking the car horns and explaining details that might be more interesting to a child. Nope - as I quickly realized, it's a museum of Franklin cars. - The cars are uniformly in immaculate or near immaculate condition. Think Peterson or Smithsonian quality. - Thanks to Tim for a great tour. I learned so much about the history of the make as well as the individual cars. - The museum isn't terribly large and there aren't all that many cars but don't think you'll get through them in a half hour. Each vehicle practically begs you to spend some time looking it over. - As some reviewers note, getting to the museum is a bit of a navigational challenge. Some of the dirt road intersections are blocked in two directions, forcing you to drive around to find the right approach. Or maybe not. Tim told me that's just the neighbors being persnickety about privacy. You can drive straight to the museum and ain't no one gonna say anything. All in all, this is a great Tucson attraction and a must-see for car buffs.
