Very much fun and going with my daughter and her friends made it even better! The outside talent was great and the interaction with the crowd was entertaining. The interior attraction has some awesome animatronics and the talent inside plays the part well. There is a 3D section that was really cool. At $20 this is a steal! I would have paid double that. There are two escape room that are timed at 5 minutes and worth the money. We had the special IPA draft made for the venue and it was tasty! A great time don't miss out. read more

I went to The Slaughter House on Thursday, October 3rd. I get that they're shutting down since it was bought out and is going to be demolished, but honestly... this just wasn't it for their last year. I wasn't scared once. There were barely any actors, and I really expected them to go all out for the final season. We went through maybe two rooms and paid $25 for what ended up being about a 30-minute walk with almost no scares -- except for one big guy who was breathing on my hair (gross) and kind of touching up on my boyfriend, which i thought they weren't aloud too touch or get that close up on you. Overall, I was pretty disappointed, but I do appreciate that they still put it on one last time before closing. read more

If you love wasting a couple hours of your life with no available seating, no entertainment, and waiting two hours past your scheduled time to go into the main (only) attraction... then you are in the right place. As someone who used to work at a really good haunted house... this was absolutely terrible. There weren't many actors, the actors they did have were low energy and I can confidently say I wasn't scared a single time. Price was $45/per person on a Friday night, for what? They advertise "best in the US" and 50+ attractions but I was extremely disappointed especially that we spend so much for the tickets. Parking is basically just wherever you can park along the road it's on so there's lots of availability for that and it is convenient they will text you when you're next in line so you can get food, walk around etc. There is a bar with a few options which would be nice if it were busier so you have time to enjoy it. Staff is friendly but this isn't a haunted house... I would feel comfortable bringing my 3 year old here. read more

They are super convenient, with scare actors who love what they do. The only thing is (maybe) the staffing issue. I don't know why we are paying extra for the other attractions if everything is so short lived now? The haunted house definitely got shorter & we paid extra to shoot zombies but that attraction definitely was not worth it. (There was about 6 zombies I think?) There were ups and downs to this event that makes it both amazing and only OK... reason why this is a four star and not a five star. The amazing parts - the Apocalypse: a interactive shooting game that allows participants to shoot the zombies rather than only be scared by them. It was basically laser tag and a lot of fun. The interactive parts of this made it the most fun I have ever had during a haunted house. The only negative about this was a fairly consistent negative throughout the evening... the actors were a little too touchy. This is one of the events where the actors can grab you, except for if you where a vest. We did have one person wearing the vest because he is partially blind and the touching could make it easier for him to trip. Even though he was wearing the vest, the actors still touched him. It would be nice if they followed the rule of the vest. Next amazing part - the ax throwing. They had someone there to teach and give advice. It didn't cost much to throw axes and this event is open year round. The guy in charge that night made it so it was not intimidating and as safe as ax throwing can be. They also had some mini escape rooms that were fun - five minutes, three puzzles... definitely need quick thinking to get through. If they do, they give you a prize, either a free attempt at the other escape room (they have two) or some free ax throws. The actual haunted houses were OK. The only thing really nice about them is that they had ADA compliant sections that allowed my partially blind friend to enjoy the haunted houses without putting himself into situations that could possibly hurt him. I really do hope that the Slaughterhouse continues to grow and expand. I feel that it can become an amazing Tucson attraction for locals and tourists alike. read more

They have great actor but in my opinion its not that scary at all. People say it is hunted.. I went way before the Ghost Adventure went. I went from the time they opened to close and didn't feel any of the things or see any of the sprite people claim to see. With me being a huge ghost fan and wanted to see one like i used to at my child hood home. I felt and saw nothing.. Either way if you scare easy its a great place to go... Slaughterhouse was rated #1 in the United States for a reason, that's for sure. You can tell how much work goes into everything; the makeup, the sets, the costumes, etc. Out of all the haunts in Tucson, I'd say this is the best bang for your buck as it takes around 40 minutes to complete the entire attraction including zombie shooting. After three years of attending Fear Farm in the West Valley we were disappointed to see it not listed as a Yelp event. So we broadened our horizons and headed to Tucson to check out the Slaughterhouse, which I have wanted to visit for a while. It definitely had the same vibe - a large open area with various haunted houses scattered around: Boiler Room, Cirque du Slay, City Meats, Voodoo Bayou, and the Apocalypse. All were fun, classic haunted houses with good props, costumes, and jump scares. The most popular house was Apocalypse - an interactive experience where they gave guests fake guns to 'shoot' zombies and such. I wasn't a huge fan of this one due to the half hour wait once we actually got inside of the house, crammed on to benches with dozens of teenagers on their phones. The house experience wasn't bad at all and they spaced guests out, which was nice. If you're in Tucson, the Slaughterhouse is a must. If you're a haunted house connoisseur in Phoenix and willing to drive down, I would check it out as well. Til next year! read more

Shout out to Slaughterhouse management and volunteers/employees for never letting us down!!!!!! You all put in so much work and dedication and it's noticed and appreciated by lots - even if you're not told enough! Also, shout out to the girl (actress?) I wish I could name drop that, at the end of the night, cussed my 18 year old son out along with a group of people behind my family, getting completely out of character and losing self control just because she was obviously having a rough night. I understand, it happens to everyone. But we're the good kind of people, not disrespectful or rowdy, just a normal family! So next time you want to call a kid the B word in front of his 12 year old sister and cuss out a WHOLE GROUP OF PEOPLE because "you're gonna get a seazure!!" because they accidentally shined their finger light on you during BLACK OUT night, do yourself a favor and just not show up. Unfortunately I was stuck out of town for this much anticipated and looked forward to event (by myself even more so than my family!) But... for her sake and mine.... it was probably for the best. Due to covid, they have changed things up. One of the things they did not enforce was social distancing. Everyone was on top each other like sardines and nobody was trying to enforce it. Half the security volunteers are openly carrying fire arms. That is their right, of course, but really??? At a haunted house, you're expecting to need that??? This defiantly the best haunted house(s) I have ever been to. All of them offer a different them and every one of the gets scarier as you go. I would say voodoo bayou is the least frighting one of them all. City Meats is the mist frighting one. This attraction the ghouls CAN and WILL touch you, unless you wear a vest showing you do not want to be. Boiler room is also eerie if you have watched the Ghost Adventures with Zac Bagans then you can see why. There is even something for those clown lovers out there. Apocalypse is a fun interactive zombie haunt. They have also added an escape room to their attractions this year but I have not got chance to experience that one yet and also an ax room as well. If you decide to go on Halloween you will be touched in every haunt not just City Meats. read more

They make sure that all the rules are explained so you understand the process and not get yourself accidentally kicked out of the game. We got the 4 haunts ticket. That's lets you into 4 different haunted walk throughs. All were well designed conceptually, and the scarers did a fantastic job. Animatronics were great as well. The boiler room was great - the scarers are allowed to touch you which adds so much more to the haunted house experience. Such a great time. Can't wait to go back and do the apocalypse. read more

We just completed the Xscape Room attraction at the slaughterhouse, and it was a blast! The staff was great and super friendly. They made the whole experience, especially getting to talk about the room with them after. The room itself was well done, with some tough puzzles and tricky solutions. It worked great with our group of four, and we were really impressed with the craftsmanship that went into it. Overall, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this escape room to anyone who asks, and they even said they plan on changing it up, so we will be back in a few months! Web site price says $7 dollars for any event it also says $15 dollars and 35 for (VIP). We paid $18 dollars to get in for just a few minutes of time killing zombies after waiting in line for four hours; what a waste of money very disappointed. We will not go back. Here is the response I received back from the company. We are sorry he did not enjoy his experience. For the most part we have had awesome reviews but we know will not be able to please everyone. First, our SlaughterHouse website shows a price of $7 any attraction for the Haunted House in October. Apocalypse is featured on the website but has its own ticket prices and nowhere on our site does it say Apocalypse for $7, but sorry if he was confused. Next, we are sorry he had to wait so long, this is a brand new event that no one else has ever done and we are still working out the logistics. The overwhelming success has caught us by surprise and we are trying to adjust as best we can. But if you feel you need to bad mouth our event that is your choice. read more

The slaughterhouse - 5 experiences at one location Each "house" has a different level fright We paid $23 each for the 4 main "houses" I bought our tickets online and arrived by 6:50. (it opens at 7) We had finished the park by 7:40 and encountered no lines whatsoever. City Meats - This is by far the scariest. There are a ton of actors running at you with weapons and you may encounter a chainsaw across your limbs. Boiler Room - Zombies in tight dark spaces. Really cool but the army chick yelling move at the end was annoying. CarnEvil - Killer Clowns. They make use of 3d glasses and some messed up situations that I loved. like splitting up at the male and female bathrooms so your gf has a heart attack lol. Twisted Tree Mortuary - This one was kiddish and maybe not worth going to alone but as part of a whole experience was fun. I'll tell you like this as a war vet and someone who endured t2 SF training city meats is pretty intense. It's hard to be scared as a grown man but I definitely enjoyed it. My only gripe is that you're told "Don't touch the actors and they won't touch you." That was complete BS I got touched several times and a zombie accidentally hit me in the lip. still 4/5 worth the money. read more

I hate to post a bad review, because I really liked this place, but I just wish I had been able to read something like this from someone else before deciding to go down to Tucson for it. It used to be a lot better-- even last year they had a decent amount of haunted house to walk through with great decorations and were staffed decently well. I'm not sure if over time maybe covid dwindled their staff down or maybe there are other factors playing into this, but it truly isn't the haunted house it once was which is sad. It's very expensive-- my date paid $70 for us both to go through a walkthrough that maybe wasn't even 20 minutes, I felt really bad for the guy. The actors looked exhausted and we did show up later in the night so maybe that was playing into it but we maybe had 2 people jump out at us the whole walkthrough and they weren't well placed. I hope that they are able to restaff and rebuild to what they were once were, as I love haunted houses and truly looked forward to Slaughterhouse-- but I don't think I would come back next year honestly unless there are some significant improvements. All the other reviews on here are obviously people related to the owners because the shit was really horrible. $120 wasted for about 10 minutes of walking through the dark walls with glow in the dark marker all over them. An awesome venue for a Music Festival! I came to The Slaughterhouse for the Gem and Jam Festival two weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the vast amounts of room to move around and the grounds of The Slaughterhouse. Between the main stage and the side stage, a bohemian bazaar, craft vendors, food trucks and flow toys are far as the eye could see - the festival grounds played host to over 5000 lovely party people and it barely felt like it. I've heard good rumor that their Halloween Haunt is absolutely worth it, though I've yet go to! read more

Honestly please ignore the good reviews. My friends and I did hoping it would be scary and good with COVID regulations, but honestly there are maybe 5 people max out of all "4" haunted houses:/ we are very disappointed and I understand COVID has caused them to cut down on staff but trust me they could have done a MUCH better job. The actors we saw did not even try to scare us they just stood there... we had are hopes us dispute the bad reviews but I really wished we listened to them. My friends get scared very easily and even they were extremely disappointed and I feel bad making them all come to this very poorly executed experience. Some good ideas, and a LOT of missed opportunities. Also seemed like there were a lot fewer actors, perhaps they all called in sick last Saturday? Really glad to see young kids in the cast, though. Its easy to *startle* people by jumping out at them -- with or without the ubiquitous chainsaw *yawwwn* -- and shouting. Its so much harder to actually frighten people. Voodoo Bayou was just okay, mostly it was a dark maze with little to connect it to Louisiana or voodoo. The Boiler Room and City Meats were a little better, but still suffered from too few actors and sloppy staging. Cirque du Slay could have been so much more. If you want to compete with the good haunts out there, I'd spend a little more time on concept, design, and set dressing and make sure I had enough actors on hand. read more

First off I am very surprised there is no reviews for this venue on Yelp! It has definitely topped the Halloween festivity to do list! You start by getting packages for the haunted houses which range from $20-50 depending how many you want to be spooked at. (recommendation of the extreme package). The Apocalypse is the must to do as you get air guns and can "shoot" the zombies during your adventure to survive through the haunted house. Other haunted houses include the "meat rack", "bayou", circus, and the boiler room. They have face painting and snacks but I would not plan on eating here for dinner as the food choices are mainly frozen and nothing to write home about. Friday the 13th means the actors could touch you unless you wore a "halo" which was a neon light ring, which actually was not a good idea to pay the $2 as I was a target throughout the haunted houses and it didn't seem to stop the zombies/actors from scaring me more! Finally, they have added t-shirts and merchandise and photos this year! Pretty impressive. You have to try this attraction at least once. oh, subtracting one star, as they have port a potties?! read more

Did the Xscape House escape room. Top notch production value and atmosphere, friendly staff, and some tricky puzzles and some easy/straightforward ones. Overall, I'd rate this as a medium difficulty, definitely a good starter room for first timers with the variety of puzzles they throw in, but enthusiasts might be disappointed. Staff were quick and responsive when requesting hints. It's definitely one of the better choices in Tucson. We went through with 5 people, which was a good number. I feel like anything above 6 would be too crowded with not enough for everyone to do at the same time. There is currently no timer to keep track of your time left, but they said they were in the process of ordering it (bring a watch, cellphones cant be taken in). They say puzzles are non-linear, but I personally thought it was pretty linear with a straightforward path from one clue to the next without much room for deviation. Not a bad thing, just not what I expected from the website description. Also, not scary at all if anyone is wondering. read more

Love how it's only one line to get in this year. Fairly cheap and is a great place to bring children (probably not for children under the age of 5). My favorite Haunt was Apocalypse. The upstairs apocalypse was the best. Lines were a bit long but definitely worth the wait! I will definitely come again next year! read more
