Great little theatre but not handicapped easy.
    Kenneth W.

One of the really good theatre experiences in Tucson. I only wish it were more comfortable and handicapped accessible. At least they try hard to accommodate. The season ticket deal is a great buy.

I felt compelled to leave this review about my incredible Acting Coach: Aubyn Philabaum. Sometimes…read morethere are people in your life that are so good, bring so much value and care so deeply, your work and Life changes because of them. My enormous great good fortune is my Acting Coach Aubyn Philabaum. Aubyn is a Yale trained actor who began coaching acting, auditioning and career mentoring in LA. When auditioning in person transitioned to mostly remote, Aubyn was coaching through zoom, ensuring we were performing the deepest on-camera work and had the most technically impeccable audition tapes to send in. No audition opportunity was left to chance. She took such a fulsome interest in every aspect of each student. A personal mentor: From assessing where they were in their acting to what needed to be done to make an audition great, to getting auditions on camera to turn in, to deepening the work both in person and for camera, to assessing career choices and goals, marketing, head shots...she is a full Mentor. Recently, as I prepared to perform a solo show of 90 minutes, I hired Aubyn to guide me from unmemorized to last performance. Her devotion to my work, the script, my well-being, my voice and body work, my emotional life within the play was consummate. Aubyn is an empath. So there was no moment we passed by without her stopping to help me go deeper inside myself to bring forward the truest experience. Aubyn is a brilliant coach who works gently and lovingly but with passion to get the best work out of her students. She is invested in each of her student's growth and success. Her love of acting permeates everything she does. And this innate calling takes her actors to the truth of their work. I wish I had known her when I first came into the acting world. To this day, I wonder if my career would have blossomed had I had her by my side. But I have her now, and as my career takes a different turn, I know I'll never be without her by my side if I'm able. I know she works remote for many but she's relocated to Tucson and opened an Acting School there, so actors in Arizona are soon to find out what secret magic they now have next door. Thank you Aubyn. I look forward to working with you as long as you're coaching.

I called and made an appointment and was told my first visit would be 2 hours long. Upon arrival, I filled out various forms and answered lots of health questions before meeting my student acupuncturist. Soon Steve and Lori (Lori was very new and observing) took me to a separate room across the courtyard where the room was divided in two by Japanese type screens. I sat down with Steve as he went over my health profile and he asked very, very in-depth questions. After spending considerable time doing this, I was asked to get up on the table. Steve felt pulses in various spots on my body and had Lori do the same. It's very interesting...they also look at your tongue several times! Finally, they decided on a treatment plan and left me to relax while they went to speak to the supervisor (I assume a licensed acupuncturist) to review the suggested treatment. Ten minutes later they came back and explained everything they'd do doing. Steve was very gentle and managed to hit all the right spots. Once all the needles were inserted, I was left to relax and listen to soothing sounds for about 15 minutes. They came back and took everything out and spent a few more minutes talking. I've since gone back a few more times and on my last visit, Steve added acupressure seeds to my ear. He asked one of the students studying Oriental Medicine to do a consultation and a particular Chinese herb was suggested. So going back to my opening, let me tell you this - it doesn't hurt! Acupuncture can be very beneficial for so many things - not just pain. Give it a try!

The cost for admission does seem a bit high for something of this nature at $8/person, but there are on-demand coupons printable online for $2 off admission. It seems odd to me that they'd even have a coupon for a convention, why not just make the admission price $6/person? The ballroom and convention floor were packed with vendors and with people, even early in the morning. So a good strategy might be to look over the map online first and highlight what vendors you'd like to see. Some personal highlights from the 2012 Spring show include: -Canyon Pondscapes, a great way to use rainwater harvesting not only for watering your garden but also adding in a water feature (RainXchanage). -The Solar Store, a solar installer that has been in business for 15 years and is very knowledgeable about the product. - EMMCo, HVAC contractors who also specialize in tankless water heaters.
