It was the perfect time as one of those classic Tucson sunsets was happening. While it was busy, I found parking in their complimentary lot. Let's start with the exterior. As you make your way to the entrance, you'll see a large Tucson mural on the side of the building. This makes for a popular photo opp. A common theme for the evening. From there, there are some cool benches for you to sit on outside the theatre. Plus, some saddles you can sit on. And a giant chair. Photo opps galore. The inside is just as spectacular as the outside. Wood abounds. It gives off a Western vibe. And there's free popcorn. While I didn't stay for a show, I walked around inside to get a feel for Gaslight. On my next trip to Tucson, I'll have to enjoy the full experience.

The cast had us laughing from start to finish with clever jokes, over-the-top characters, and just the right amount of heroic insect drama. If Batman and a backyard barbecue had a theatrical baby, this would be it. It was 2 acts then ended with The Gong Show comedy skit. The food (pizza and wings) was very good! We even got free ice cream for visiting from out of town! Great entertainment, plenty of laughs, and a fantastic night out in Tucson!

The actors are great and I love that the show has been family owned and operated for 30+ years. With their stunts, cheesy laughs and a fair amount of pyrotechnics and water splashes, this show is better than any I've seen in more traditional cowboy shootout shows (including those in Tombstone).

The interior attraction has some awesome animatronics and the talent inside plays the part well. There is a 3D section that was really cool. At $20 this is a steal! I would have paid double that. It was unfortunately really hot in the theater and not sure if they don't have AC or it was down, but the only area that was cool was by the front doors, not in the main place where the show was held. We came in on a game show day. The actors tried their best, but it just was really one note, lackluster and not funny, at least to us. It seemed like there could have been more of a mix between more advanced actors vs newbies/students...or at least it seemed that way. They did take audience recommendations, like Who's Line, and that helped keep us engaged. Things seemed to drag on, otherwise, and we wished there was more creativity, quickness and wit displayed. We tried this place out and it's just not for us.

The instructor emcee had a buzzer which I found a bit irritating. She kept things moving forward, albeit, so fast scenes were not allowed to develop. It was a student showcase and the theatre was full. After the student showcase was an Improv Troupe, I forget their name. They were good but I lost interest after about 10 minutes of the same game. The cost is reasonable at $5 plus the cost of refreshments which are available in the lobby. We lucked out and found parking in front. Others in our group parked down the street but it didn't seem to be difficult to find a space. I love supporting local theatre and would definitely go again.

The weather is usually really good. The fair has three main buildings. Thurber Hall which is loaded with commercial vendors - clothing, candy, pop culture items, Tupperware, gadgets, etc. Always some good deals in there. Pima Hall has more vendors and some entertainment acts as well. This year they had Brad's World of Reptiles with multiple animal displays and Nancy Riegler's Bird Show at the other end. The name of the third building escapes me, but it is where they show off art from locals and schools in the area. They also have 4-H displays, a giant model train display, many active art displays with rocks, model ships, yarn, etc. Great rides and games every year from RCS. I could tell she needed to get some frustrations out! Without a word, I booked us a Rage Room date at The Breaking Point! It was super easy getting a reservation via their website! Many options to choose from. Besides the Rage Room, they also have Axe Throwing, an Escape room, and a Paint Splatter room. Since it was the two of us, I booked the date night package (yes, you can do that) and added a large electronic to break. You would think 25 minutes was too short of a time to go through all the breakables, but it was just perfect for the two of us! It was so much fun and a great workout! lol. They provide the gear (jumpsuit, gloves, and face protective mask). So it's ok if you come with just shorts and a t-shirt on. Just make sure you got sneakers or some type of thick closed toe shoe on! They also have a Bluetooth speaker for you to connect your music to! The gal at the counter was super friendly and helpful! All in all y'all need to try this place! Side note, they accept donations of "breakables" anytime! So if you're getting rid of beer bottles, electronics, or whatever things fragile, you can bring them in! Call ahead to let them know you'd like to donate stuff.
