One of my favorite parts of Tucson is that their cobra arcade is better than the one in Phoenix. Very much enjoyed coming here on second Saturday and playing some games. My only complaint is that this was a 21 and up establishment and there were children everywhere. I don't know if it was only for second Saturday or if this is, a consistent thing. I do like this business cause I enjoyed being able to play games and have a drink and not have any around under 21. Especially those under 15 and there were quite a few of them that day. I ended up leaving because they were everywhere and the games were available that I wanted to play, but they were having fun. That's all that matters. Staff was great.. The music was great as well. I drink was delicious, but not as strong as I would expect the cocktails to be. But then again there was kids in there so ... Decided to go after an hour. While on date night downtown, hubby and I decided to check this place out as we have heard so much about it. There is a bar to the left when you walk in, and outdoor seating with large heaters. This is a two story place. They have a token machine on the first floor, the bar, a dance floor and video games. If for some reason you cannot find the game you are looking for--go upstairs and check them out. They have tons of old school games--Galaga, Frogger, QBert, PacMan, and many more! (including pinball machines) The staff was all nice and the restaurant clean. We had so much fun and only spent $10---did I forget to mention ALL the games are only a quarter!?!?! During a recent trip to Tucson we stumbled upon this bar in the downtown area during Happy Hour on a Friday. I had several of the Ace Space Blood Orange ciders ($4 during happy hour).. yum! My bf had several beers on draft .. at $2 off each drink we were in no hurry to leave. Lots of locals (different age ranges), plenty of seating and lots of arcade games and pinball machines. After checking in on yelp and getting some free tokens the bf and I tried our hand at pinball, frogger, centipede, and other classics! Great vibe, cool space! Though the location is small, it's set up nicely with some games on the first level, a nice outside sitting area and some comfy booths inside that you can utilize to enjoy if a dj is playing. The decor above the bar is superb as well. Upstairs there's a lot more games and some booths to sit at. It's not that weird that I haven't reviewed Cobra yet... I been drinking mostly when I go.... Great place, one of the few bars in Tucson that allowed me to bring my pet snake in. That's just the cherry on top of a wonderful establishment. Today, my bartender was Richie, and he was both wonderfully competent as a mid-shift bartender, checking IDs and pouring drinks, and able to recommend to me a better tequila than what I been drinking. After a dinner night with my friends, a few of us decided to burn some calories. We started walking around downtown and stumbled across cobra arcade bar. We haven't been really to one in a long time, so well why not! We were very surprised, there were so many games that had themes based on recent movies. The one that we loved the most was the Simpson game, where Lisa Simpson tries to save the day with a jumping rope. And fix it Felix was an equal contender. There were all kinds of crazy pin ball machines and my favorite was the Deadpool themed one. I did not fare that well with the Star Wars one, my game barely lasted for two minutes. When we went there at about 8ish, there was not a lot of crowd. But as the night went on, there were more people and slightly more wait on the games you wanted to play. We do have some leftover cobra coins and I would love to start where we left off that night, the dance dance revolution. read more

This place was a blast! Love that it's a bar arcade, super fun. Went on a Saturday night and it was fairly crowded. We were able to head straight to the bar and were attended to almost immediately. They have a large beer selection and prices were reasonable. I got a Four Peaks pumpkin porter for $5 and my husband got a rolling rock for $3. I'm a big pac man fan and despite what another yelper claimed, there ARE people out there who enjoy playing single player pac man. ME! They also have the 4 player pac man machine and my group and I enjoyed playing that as well. There are several different areas: the entrance opens up to a long bar with some games across from it. At the south end of the bar is a patio where you can get some air if you want. There's also an upstairs where most of the pinball machines are (and ms pac man) and on the north side of the bar are more games that wrap around a corner heading to the bathrooms. When we were there, they had a DJ, which added a great party vibe. Playing some pretty solid tunes too. Loved that the games were super affordable. Like one token per play. This was nice since I've been to some other arcade bars where they really jack up the prices. Only complaint is that the place got so crowded, you pretty much had to wait to play a game. But really not that big of a deal. Also, my friend was approached by a creepy dude who kind of harassed her--not sure if that's the right word--but he was definitely being a creepy nuisance. The bartender noticed and management took care of it, asking the creeper to leave the premises. Good on them! Anytime I'm out downtown, I know it's a must to hit up Cobra Arcade! When I heard that Tucson got an arcade bar, I was pretty excited, especially hearing that they had classic games that I grew up playing after school. First of all, BRING EARPLUGS! The music is WAY TOO LOUD (in my opinion). You really can't hear anything anyone is saying, including the person next to you. What's worse is that some speakers are directly above the games, so you are likely to go deaf while playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That was one of my biggest issues and why I didn't give this place 4/5 stars. Don't forget to check-in! By checking in on Yelp, you get free tokens to use in the machines. There are bouncers and staff behind the bar that will help you with getting your free tokens. There is an upstairs and downstairs. There are gives for single-players to multiplayer games. They have a small outdoor patio to chill at when you want to take a break from staring at your game screens. Also, beware of the dread sticky token slot...I had a couple issues with tokens getting stuck in the slots (they are old games), but the staff I asked for help was super kind, fixed the slot, took out my token, and gave me a bunch of free tokens for my inconvenience. I definitely plan on coming back and will be bringing ear plugs :) read more

This is another bar I hit on the town last week, and it's a weird place for sure but fantastic all in all! This is kind of an arcade, bar, and club mixed into one. So, your first floor is your bar and dance floor. The second floor is a lot more relaxed and focused on old old arcade machines! Awesome concept and a fun place to go! Cruising by on a Saturday night and decided to give it a try. The place was packed!! The entrance is NOT on Congress but on the Scott side of the building which if you go on a Saturday night like we did, is evidenced by the line of people waiting to get in. A couple of bouncers at the door, one checking IDs and another frisking the male patrons. All good - makes one feel a little safer. Made our way to the bar and despite how crazy busy it was, we were served immediately. Decent selection of beers and good prices. The music was pumping from a DJ upstairs - yes, upstairs - the place is pretty big with games on both floors. The games are really cool with an old school feel and price! There is an patio out front and along the side of the building to take a breather from the noise and heat inside. With as many people as were inside on the night we were there, it got HOT. I'd love to see this place succeed. Not sure if adding food to the mix would work since there really isn't a whole lot of seating but it might be nice to see some simple items added. Maybe some 80s snack foods since there are some classic 80s games in there! read more

Today is May 8, 2024 and a woman bartender working was crying behind the bar so me and my friend asked her what was wrong trying to comfort her and the male bartender (Ma-tay-o Hispanic) working kicked us out because we asked her if she was OK. This is the honest truth! I tried to explain that we had nothing to do with her emotions, and that we were only comforting her as fellow bartenders in the industry, and this guy still insisted to kick us out. I've never experienced anything in the 10+ years of working in the industry. I even gave her a huge cash tip, commanding her for showing up to her shift during a challenging time, and this bartender still kicked us out for absolutely no reason. I wish I could call this guy out by name, For this reason, I would NOT recommend supporting this business. read more

The atmospheric choices made for this place are spot on, it's almost something you wouldn't expect in Tucson. Everything is just so well done, the murals, the flashing retro game themed lights, even the restrooms are nicely themed. There's a nice selection of classic arcade games and pinball machines just ready to take all the tokens from your pockets. My only complaint the right flipper of the Iron Maiden pinball machine has a tendency to stick which can really make you miss your shots. read more

We loved cobra arcade! The space is much larger than it appears to be (it has 2 levels) and as an added plus it caters to the 30+ crowd as it's a 21+ bar with lots of throw back arcade games, a live dj, friendly bartenders drinks specials and inexpensive games! They also have beautiful art work inside and lots of detail even on the tables and outside the restrooms. Parking is a biatch but it's downtown so get there early or expect to do a little walking. It is in a great location because it's close to dining. Whether you want a burger, sushi, upscale dining it's all within a 5-10 minute walk. We went here with a group and will be back again and definitely recommend it! read more
