Showed up here late night (after an outing) when my son decided he wouldn't sleep without ice cream. This place is located off Buford highway, and is quite a big spot. Seems low key with several options. We were in and out in a jiffy, and the rolled ice cream we tried was decent! Staff was friendly and made sure my son was happy with his ice cream bowl!!

My niece wanted ice cream after Pho, and when you're in the Buford Hwy Corridor, eating great food is never an issue. Neither is finding a sweet spot. This place sits in a very busy strip mall. GPS kind of turned me around some to find it. Parking can be hard to find here as well. I was not going to participate in eating but then I saw ice cream taco and had to get me some. They do the ice cream making from scratch here, making it right in front of you on subzero surfaces. I swear the two ladies making the ice cream could probably light a car or chop down a tree. You get to pick your flavor plus 3 toppings and then syrup choice. I did the taco with butter pecan ice cream, brownie bites, Reese's peanut butter cups, bananas and strawberry syrup. It is a couple minutes to wait but the chairs at the tables are comfy. Atmosphere felt like a club with the ceiling lighting. I certainly loved my taco. All the flavors mixed well too. Be prepared on cost for this type of ice cream (~$8/person). I do highly recommend.

Ok this place is an experience for everyone to try for real! It's fun for kids and adults. You get to watch them make your ice cream on spot and you can also tell them what you want in it. It wasn't too busy and so when we came in we had a lot of time to decide what we wanted. There's so many options though so we asked the cashier what her favorite was. She said her favorite options are the ones she creates herself so we actually let her create something for us that wasn't even on the menu. Best idea ever. She was definitely excited to share her creations with us and honestly I think they were the best options. Each one was unique and very tasty as well. You should stop in and have a little fun with your ice cream choices and sit back and watch the magic happen!

Each time me and my son are on this side of town we have to always stop. When you walk it simple, very colorful, and cute. The staff is normally young(student age) but very polite and kind. It's always cool to watch the ice cream being prepared and theirs no bad flavor I've tried yet. Always good, my son had piña colada and I had strawberry mango.....yummy! I definitely recommend give them a try.

The rolled ice cream at Roll It Up Ice Cream was better than I expected. With so many rolled ice cream joints opening in metro Atlanta over the past several years, I was sort of expecting Roll It Up to be a mediocre knockoff. However, the ice cream I had here was actually pretty good. Admittedly, ICENY across the street is still my favorite, but Roll It Up can certainly hold its own as well. This ice cream shop opened in January 2017 in Asian Square on Buford Highway. The shop has a colorful logo and interior, to match the bevy of ingredients they use to make their treats. For a relatively new business, the store has a rather loud and (to me) 1990s aesthetic. No doubt the wall art and different colored lighting are cool, but the place already feels a bit dated in its branding and design. At the time of writing this review, there are other Roll It Up locations in Snellville, Athens, and Hoover, Alabama. This store in Doraville is the main store. Roll It Up specializes in two things: rolled ice cream at $5.99 per serving and liquid nitrogen ice cream (LN2) at $6.99 per serving. They also have other goodies like waffle bowls ($7.48) and rolled ice cream tacos (2 for $6.50). I was told by staff that the rolled ice cream tastes better than the liquid nitrogen ice cream; however, the liquid nitrogen ice cream certainly looks cool engulfed in thick billowy smoke. I think that one is ordered more for the look rather than the taste. It's a fun effect for sure. The shop offers at least 30 different signature combinations of cream, mix-ins (ingredients rolled into your cream as its flash-frozen), toppings, and syrups. In addition, you can create your own rolled or liquid nitrogen ice cream. They carry over 15 mix-ins, over 35 toppings, and 10 syrups. Here's what I tried: * #14. Matcha PiChu (rolled, $5.99) - green tea cream rolled with strawberry and topped with mochi, kiwi, and strawberry * #25. European Coffee (rolled, $5.99) - coffee cream rolled with condensed milk and topped with a Biscoff cookie, Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme mini bar, whipped cream, and condensed milk * Custom pina colada ice cream (rolled, $5.99) - pina colada cream rolled with mango and graham cracker and topped with strawberry, peach, lychee, and pineapple sauce * Fruity Pebbles Sandwich ($5.49) - made with pina colada cream rolled with mango and strawberry plus lychee on the side Overall, I enjoyed everything. I thought everything was tasty. In general, the rolled ice cream was the best part. Smooth, creamy, and delicious. Some ice cream flavors were more dense than others. For example, the coffee ice cream was a lot harder than the pina colada ice cream. The spoons weren't sturdy enough to scoop the coffee ice cream without bending so that was annoying. If you're going to serve dense ice cream, your spoons should be able to handle it without bending or breaking. All of the fruit toppings were fresh, ripe, and sweet. Good quality. Of the above, my favorite was the #25 European Coffee. During our visit, this was a new flavor. The cashier asked me how I'd like it prepared. I just pointed to the picture on the display (my friend did the same thing for his #24 Black Forest ice cream, another new flavor at the time). The way they have them set up in the pictures looks great. The whipped cream on my order ended up looking rather sad, but that was the only downside. The ice cream and other ingredients were yummy. I loved that sweetened condensed milk and the Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme mini bar was a nice treat too. On the #14 Matcha PiChu, the mochi topping was both colorful and plentiful with soft, appetizing consistency. The staff was generous with the portion size. The Fruity Pebbles sandwich looked cooler than it tasted. While not a bad ice cream sandwich, it's somewhat gimmicky. Aside from its novelty and unique look (it does look neat), you're probably better off ordering the standard rolled stuff. The crunchy Fruity Pebbles crusts weren't all that impressive to me and really, they just got in the way. Service was outstanding. I don't think these guys could've done a much better job. They were friendly and speedy. I guesstimate interior seating capacity to be about 20-25 people. There are 4-5 tables plus some seats against counters on the wall and storefront windows. The Wi-Fi password for Roll It Up is 520rollitup. In the end, Roll It Up Ice Cream is not a bad option for dessert on Buford Highway.

I stopped into today for an early evening treat after a day out and loved it. It was great. The process for ordering is very seamless and straightforward. They have several options and you can either get the toppings on the menu or choose your own. I choose my own for the Chocolate Classic. The portion is generous. There is ample and easy parking in a private, shopping center lot. The wait was rather quick. It's hard to find some rolled ice cream in Atlanta, and there are about 3 spots to my knowledge and Roll It Up is one of them. I'm glad I had to chance to find them. You will not be disappointed. Give them a try. Bravo!

I love this place ! I continue to come back and enjoy their ice cream. I usually get one of their own creations then add a topping and syrup. My favorite is their pineapple cream and Oreo creations. Overall a great place for a massive and filling dessert.

It was a "cool" experience. First time going. I had never tried rolled up ice cream and was excited to finally try it. Love that they are open late. I had the cream base with caramel added and strawberries to top. It was great, the ice cream is so thick and flavorful and super entertaining to watch them make it. The way they make the ice cream is just amazing. Their presentation makes it all. The restaurant itself was very trendy and fun. The place was super clean to be so highly populated and so were the bathrooms. It's not expensive as I thought it would be. If you're looking for the best quality ice cream, this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a novelty, this is the perfect place. Next time I want to try the liquid nitrogen ice cream that was very neat to watch them make for others. I would definitely go back. Super friendly and helpful staff. This is located in a shopping center, so there's plenty of free parking. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone if you like freshly made cold ice cream right of the cooler thing and also try it for sure if you are in the area.

I've ALWAYS wanted to try rolled ice cream, but never had the opportunity. That was until we passed "Roll It Up" after dinner and wanted dessert. Roll It Up is conveniently located on Buford Highway, so you'll more than likely pass by it if you're on this road. Ice Cream: So, Roll It Up has over 20 types of ice cream, not even including the Create Your Own flavors. Regular rolled ice cream costs $5.99, while liquids nitrogen is $6.99. Through the Create Your Own, I selected the following: Base - Cream Mixes - Oreo Toppings - Reese's Syrup - Caramel DELICIOUS! It was actually everything I expected it to be and I was surprised it didn't cost a lot. I could've faced the whole thing by myself, but my wife was eating along with me. Overall, this was really ice cream was really BOMB! Just writing this review makes me excited and having me want to go back. I'll definitely be back to try some different flavors.

My daughter wanted ice cream, excuse me, Rolled ice cream! So we stopped by and we were definitely impressed. We were greeted and they explained the process!! They had liquid nitrogen and rolled ice cream, your choice! I thought that was a cool concept! They had quite a few pre made options which helped because they have tons of flavors and toppings! The liquid nitrogen took quite a while to make, hence the four stars, but besides that it was an amazing experience. The ice cream was delicious as well! I definitely recommend!

POPPIN PLACE IN A BIG PLAZA!! ive been to the plaza where roll it up ice cream is in and have never been to this ice cream shop! there was a pretty long line when i came, which was around 9pm on Sunday. the place is cute, not too big, but a decent amount of room inside. due to covid, i think there is limited seating inside with 1-2 tables. i love how there are pre-made items as well as the option to create your own. i got one of the menu items and made my own. they have various toppings to choose from that will make your decision a difficult one. they also have nitrogen ice cream which I've never had before, so i decided to try that too. the rolled ice cream was good! i think a big part of rolled ice cream is the experience and there are glass screens so you can watch your ice cream as they roll it. to me, i think the rolled ice cream trend is overrated (my opinion), but if you like it then i recommend this place! I'm also not really sure what the nitrogen ice cream entails, it kind of seemed more like soft serve? it was definitely softer than the rolled ice cream.

You can find Roll It Up Ice Cream at 5150 Buford Hwy NE Ste D110, Atlanta, GA 30340 - I believe this is now part of Doraville, regardless of the address. The shop is in the front of the Asian Square shopping center. This is a regular post-restaurant stop for my Buford Highway Clawr group as it's in a convenient location and there are several restaurants neaby. For the uninitiated, the square is home of the Doraville location of Sweet Hut which most will recognize. There's generally plenty of parking out front of each business and overflow contained in the main market's parking, the exception is Sweet Hut which gets very crowded. The area immediately in front of Roll It Up is also often filled up but the short walk from another parking space elsewhere is worth it. Roll It Up is similar in concept to 8 Below, the popular ice cream shop down the street (there's also I CE NY across the street - that's three similar ice cream shops within a mile of each other, so there's obviously demand - each its own own approach). Roll It Up does both the cream-on-chilled-platform roll-up style AND nitrogen injection into Kitchen Aid mixing bowls so you can sample either technique. I've had both and my preference is with the roll-it-up style but frankly both are awesome and worth experiencing. The interior of Roll It Up is brightly painted and has neon-like glowing effects in the lighting. You order at the counter after looking at a chalkboard menu. I've had the Funky Monkey, the Rolling Oreo, the Coffee & Cream, the Thaiphoon and the Matcha PiChu. I think I like the Coffee & Cream the best (Coffee and Oreo). Or you can choose from a handful of base flavors then add a mix (fruit, chocolate, peanut butter or Oreo) - $5.99 for the Roll It Up or $6.99 for the nitrogen-injection. You can add toppings or go with whip and chocolate sauce (the latter is on the counter). I usually add whip, sliced banana and chocolate sauce while John F gets the roasted marshmallows (they burn them using a torch). Service is very good with a very efficient, friendly and patient staff behind the counter. You get to watch your ice cream being made so it's a bit of a show - part of the charm. They also have free WIFI - we like to sit outside if it's not too hot (there are a couple of tables). (also posted to my food and restaurant blog)

Very friendly welcoming. The young man taking our order knew the answers to our questions before we even asked. He made the choices simple and easy to understand. All the employees knew exactly what to do and worked together seamlessly. Ice cream was nice - not earth shattering, but, nice. Very pretty presentation.

I got their black sesame latte float with a matcha and sakura (seasonal flavor) swirl. The sakura was sweeter than anticipated and not floral, which was a bit disappointing since I didn't like it alone or mixing with the matcha flavor. The black sesame portion was fine. I like the nuttiness of black sesame in general, and I would've loved if they used more for a stronger flavor. The flavor was subtle, and with the ice and soft serve on top, got easily diluted.
