Our school hosted a PTO fundraising event here. We arrived and there was plenty of parking. I was excited to enter but once inside there were so many crazy rules. I wasn't skating only the kids and they still charged me to enter. Inside is old but clean and all the staff were really friendly. The music was good and the kids enjoyed all the skating games. Concessions are very affordable but I don't think they take card. Just cash. read more

Went to have a birthday party at 2pm for my niece and one of the parents that was in their 30s couldn't come in because the type of jeans she had on had fade style in the jeans yet people there with booty shorts on can come in. I get it you have rules or regulations so wearing certain types of clothing, but this was ridiculous. Will be going. Somewhere else for now on read more

I'm sorry, no one is expecting to drive 45 min to find out they should have known there's a dress code for a skating rink that's never existed ever And miss an entire family birthday party because of it. If you're worried about frays in the skates maybe check and clean the skates like your supposed too? Especially getting on people who are not skating. The music isn't loud enough either. read more

The place is run down and the most ridiculous rules, no cut-off shorts, rip/tears in shorts/jeans or you will be asked to leave. Overpriced for roller-skating, there are other skate rinks are better without the silly rules. The concession is salty popcorn, stale nachos or tombstone pizza. read more

I showed up for my nieces birthday party and my shorts had fake holes and I was touched on and told I couldn't come in. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of and I don't appreciate being touched either! read more

Absolutely horrendous hours! Scheduled a fun roller skating day with some family- turns out, on a SATURDAY NIGHT they're only open from 1:30 to 4! Isn't that just embarrassing? On top of that, both Monday AND Tuesdays they are closed. read more

Literally been going here for 30 plus years. Got denied service today for my 7 year olds cloths. RIDICULOUS. I have loved and supported this place all my life but not sure I can continue. Unfortunately my wife and I just spent about 600$ on new skates from them and there are really no other options around if I want to take my kids. We just had our son's 6 th birthday at roll-about in Burlington on the 17th of nov. I skated there for years as a kid myself .. .. .. We was blessed to have a great staff there to help make this birthday a truly big day...! With both our sons are autistic... The team member went the extra mile .. We had a great timeNon our ciait- veery nostalgic and prices were great. The only negative I have is there were signs posted everywhere about a very strict dress code- like this place is a little dumpy to have such a strict dress code... no hats, no holes in your jeans...I I had a hole I in the knnee oof my jeans andd didn't know until I got there, as it was my first visit. They then pased our flyers... that again had the dress code ... a bitnover the top IMO. read more

Roll-A-Bout Skating Center is a very good skating center. Everyone is nice. There's also food if you get hungry/ thirsty. You can even rent skates. The dress code is pretty fair. This is why I like this place. read more

Been coming here on Wednesday nights for about 2 months. My impression..first, the rink needs a good scrub, and to be sanded and recoated. The kids/teen, pre teens are not held accountable for their profanity. The staff/ownership does not enforce their posted rules, making the atmosphere less appealing. There are 1 or 2 staff that are really friendly and helpful, the others will let you stand for service or walk away. I learned to skate here many years ago, and am relearning now. Can't tell you how many times the kids speeding around the rink has made me nearly fall. Again, rules are for a reason, not enforced. Other than they are the only rink open on Wednesday in driving distance, is why I return. So parents, let your kids know what is expected of them when you drop them off...they represent you and your values. Management, if you post rules enforce them. Nothing wrong with takin it old school and holding your patrons accountable. read more

If you live in Chapel Hill, there's three options for rollar skating rinks--one in Durham, one in Cary, and one in Burlington. We have come to make the trek to the Roll-A-Bout Center in Burlington. Sadly, it's the cleanest of the three options--and that's not saying much. Is it too much to ask for doors for the restroom stalls? I guess so because you will NOT find them here. You can't bring outside food in, and the selections inside are abysmal at best. And way overpriced. And don't even get me started on the help at the snack bar--buying something from them will make you feel like you just ruined their day. RUDE is putting it nicely . . . They seriously have to be family to the owners or I can't even imagine these girls holding their jobs there. So why on earth do we go? It's an available indoor skating rink.. It would be better if they would reverse the flow for a change of pace..........why do they not do that here? Puzzling.... But they have a nice mix of music--oldies to the top ten. It's usually not too crowded. The skate staff on the rink are friendly, helpful and keep things going well. They offer fresh cookies....but you have to buy them in advance and then they cook them....s-l-o-w-l-y. They never announce when they are ready...so sometimes they give your already pre-paid cookie(s) away and you're out of luck. I don't get that. Oh, and the cookies are nothing to write home about. Overpriced and overly hyped, indeed. IF you can steer clear of the food (and don't even THINK about getting a drink with a lid and straw....no can do!)....it's skating fun for a decent price. TIP: Don't go on Mondays...they are closed for private parties.....and if there's not a party, they're just plain closed! read more

the service and of this place was horrible. we usually love this place but two workers were pretty rude to us. i came with a friend the person in the lobby usually pays people who came together separate but today they charged us together with $18 when the prices online state that the charge is $5-$7 she even asked us when we would be leaving, it just about an hour. when we went to go get our skates the worker proceeded to tell my friend that she had to spit her gum on a piece of paper he also said "this is an automatic suspension" and told us "theres a big white sign out front" with obvious sarcasm. the worker who charged us called me out for having jeans that were made to look like they have rips but don't show skin and aren't real rips in the jeans. she also allowed girls to go through with short shorts even though it said on the dress code rules that shorts were not allowed. read more

Nice with the exception of the staff. The man working the skate counter was very rude to several kids including my own. If I weren't there to meet two other families I would have left. The guy was helping the people in front of us and my son was standing off to the side and he said "Excuse me" and the guy replied "How many people do you see back here, one! It's only one person back here!" And when I realized he was yelling at my son I asked what was the reason for that tone, my son is only 7. He walked off and didn't say anything else. And after we received our skates I overheard him telling another child who asked him to tighten her wheels..."Thats why I don't like girls, you're gonna get me fired I'm not suppose to tighten these wheels. I was in shock and a few other parents standing around were commenting on how rude he was. These are kids and the staff should be kid friendly, there's no reason to yell and hurt their feelings. They're just excited and ready to skate and have fun. He made my son feel like he had done something wrong by using his manners and saying excuse me as he seen he was talking to someone.
