A cool city park in the middle of Burlington, NC. This park is a kid's dream with a carousel, boats, train, cars, and helicopters! There's a large splash zone for kids too with water coming from everywhere! From several pavilions , ball fields, and tennis courts, this park is quite the place to spend the afternoon!

Great park. My kids really enjoyed the train ride. The splash pad was difficult to locate. Staff was very welcoming. The grounds were well kept. We're visiting from out of town and liked this park very much.

This park is pretty awesome, definitely a great place to bring the youngsters. From the amusement rides to the playground to the splash pad or the choo choo train you can ride around a section of the park, everyone will definitely be entertained. There are also walking trails, picnic shelters available to rent and a few ball fields here also. The amusement rides run everyday except monday during the Summer and weekends only in Spring & Fall.

The carousel festival is possibly the best local festival that I have ever attended around this area. I wish they had more events like this I can't I am so hun how much events a half of the kids they had jumpy houses face painting color sand making the carousel they had marching band music they had hot dogs they had all kinds of bands in groups and different things going on with different themes lots of fun highly recommend this event.

Still fun for all 3 generations. Precious memories.

We were going to get tickets for the carousel but the little one was getting tired so we left to head home.

In Chapel Hill, "The Farm" refers to the private club of the UNC Faculty-Staff Recreation…read moreAssociation. It's kind of like a country club, but without a golf course. There are tennis courts, pickleball courts, swimming and diving pools, outdoor rock climbing walls, a gym, an outdoor basketball court, disc golf, beach volleyball, a clubhouse, playground, three shelters (pavilions) with wooden tables and benches, and more. Actually, it's more like a private park than a private country club. In terms of how nice The Farm is, I'd say it's on a public park level. When I saw The Farm is private, I was thinking it would be nicer and perhaps higher-end. Instead, it felt more like a small city park that happens to be private. My wife has been here multiple times for various UNC events. I attended one of the events with her. It took place at The Farm's clubhouse, the adjacent pavilion, and the playground. It was a family-friendly event. Parents brought their children who played on the playground. Food and drink were set up inside the clubhouse's kitchen. The clubhouse and overall grounds and facilities that I saw were modest. The shelter had string lighting lining the ceiling. The tables had a lot of what looked like dried-up paint/finger paint on them, presumably from kids' activities. It makes sense since the playground was right next to us. Also nearby was a bunch of bamboo which made for a good backdrop for group photos. During our Saturday afternoon visit, I saw people playing beach volleyball and the pool(s) looked busy. The Farm is located east of UNC campus, not far from the Chapel Hill-Durham border. It's off 54, accessible via Barbee Chapel Rd, just past UNC Finley Golf Course. It's due south from the Rizzo Center (south side of 54).

I've been taking my kids to Clarks Creek since it opened. While this park does have some pluses…read morethere are minuses. The bathrooms are almost always nasty, they either don't have toilet paper or don't have paper towels to dry your hands. If it's the summer time and you're taking your kids for the splash pad, bring water shoes. The floors are disgusting. The trashes get overflown and the flies are everywhere. I don't know who thought it was a great idea to have metal slides with no shade but if it's a peak summer day, you're not gonna want your kids going down those slides, especially if they've got shorts on, their butts will get fried. Also, not sure whose idea it was to have the wooden rocking toy thing for kids because those did not last long. The handles broke after a year. When it comes to usable things for kids to play on at this park, the options are extremely limited. I would've loved to see something that kids could actually climb on and slide from that wasn't meant to be poor installation art. The main thing our kids do when we're there is swing on the only two swings climb up in the big web net thing and roll down the turf hill. The only well-kept areas in this park are the Pickleball courts and the dog park. There's definitely ample parking. There's a community garden that you can look at. If you come at the right time when the figs are ripe, you can pick them right off the tree so that's nice.

There's a water park, dog area, and a short (?) walking trail around (I need to explore this more). They're good in my book!
