GOLFTEC Cary - GolfTEC Swing Analysis

GOLFTEC Cary

(10 reviews)

I've started and stopped playing golf several times over the 15 years or so, taking lessons from…read moresome highly rated teachers, but never progressing past a certain point for whatever reason. This has been exceptionally frustrating for me as I'm a pretty decent athlete. I got hooked again at the end of the last year and decided to try lessons and went for a swing evaluation at Golftec. Cayce rid of my slice in less than an hour. I've been taking lessons since and am hitting the ball better and have a better understanding of my golf swing than I've had before. Everyone there have been very accommodating, whether I'm there for a lesson or practice. I highly recommend it if you want to improve your golf game. And who doesn't?

GOLFTEC has a great system in place as a company. The value is there with lessons, fittings, etc…read more But, this GOLFTEC is poorly managed by Brinson. He was inappropriate with his "casual" style during the fitting by giving me unnecessary and immature nicknames. For the investment of club fitting, I expected more professionalism with GOLFTEC clientele. I still went through the fitting and was promised a time frame to receive my clubs, but due to fulfillment issues with the manufacturer, the clubs came 2 months after my fitting and way past the expectation that was set by Brinson. I totally understand that it's out of GOLFTEC's hands in this case, but I am disappointed that they came incorrect. I received them right handed rather than left handed. This mistake was based on a manual error on the GOLFTEC ordering system according to the manufacturer. I got in contact with Brinson quickly after. Although apologetic, he did not take accountability. Brinson then told me to be patient to see what he can get done and started to deliver promises of communication with his VP (never delivered) and send over golf balls (never delivered). After displaying some frustration over email, Brinson called me during work hours and didn't respond to my email. He left me an inappropriate and emotionally fueled voicemail after I left a follow up email. My request was to at the least get a tangible view of the new order and after the call, he didn't deliver and left me in the dark. I discussed my frustration with another local GOLFTEC and they agreed that it has been poorly handled and reassured me that this is an anomaly of their organization's culture. I plan on letting my network in RDU know to not give their business to Brinson at GOLFTEC.

Iron Play par 3

Iron Play par 3

A great place to practice your game from 150 and in! As far as I'm concerned, Iron Play is the only…read morereal par 3 golf course in the Triad area, and is designed as such that there is real challenge involved. You've got elevation changes, bunkers, a couple holes where water must be crossed or is in play for an errant shot, and greens that will test your ability to make a proper read. We went on a hot summer day, and let me tell you, walking this course is no picnic thanks to the elevation changes (particularly on the front 9). Of course, there is no riding option, I rented a pull cart to make things a little easier for a nominal fee. I felt the course overall was in good shape, the back nine presenting better than the front just due to recent weather and some challenges for a few holes that don't get much air circulation thanks to proximity to the woods. There were 2 or 3 greens that were not in great shape, but honestly for the price I was pretty happy. Each hole has a white and a blue tee that you can choose for your skill level, the blue tee generally moving it back about 20 yards. The longest hole is 150, with most holes from the blue tees being in that 100-120 range. There are no fairways, and the course is links style, which is very appropriate for a par 3 course. There were a couple times where I was confused which direction to head in next when finishing a hole, a couple signs with an arrow would be appreciated when it isn't clear. I want to shout out Cindy for her excellent customer service. It was a very hot day, and I guess I was not drinking enough water. I had to stop on the 16th hole because either overheating or dehydration was having a very clear effect on me, she saw me walking in and came out to help me get my clubs inside, and immediately handed me a water and a packet of emergency hydration mix. She also got me an ice pack for my neck, and checked on me while I cooled down and condition got better. I'm very appreciative for her hospitality and care.

This is a nice par 3 golf course. You have to walk it, which is fine with me. This has been a nice…read morelocation for me to practice when I can't play a bigger or longer game. Do call before you go if there's been rain recently as I've gone there before an were closed due to the grounds.
