Montecristo Jewelers first opened in 1978 and have since expanded tremendously. They may be…read moreprohibitively expensive but they carry some of the most exclusive lines (Bulgari, Rolex, Omega, Harry Winston and Cartier to name a few) as well as their own in-house designs. This is their flagship store. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and will answer any questions you may have concerning the 4Cs (cut, colour, carat and clarity) and will work with you to design the style of your choice (a friend of mine recently commissioned them to create his fiancée's engagement ring). The store is a bit intimidating but, really, what do you expect? They're in the diamond business.

I was here with a friend in January 2014 - at the Oakridge store. She was shopping around for…read morewedding bands to match with her engagement ring and for her fiance. The girl who served her appears not to be interested in helping her. The first thing she asked my friend was where she got the engagement ring. My friend replied it was from Cartier. So the girl said "Why don't you go back and buy the wedding bands at Cartier". My friend was shock and replied "I want to shop around to see what is out there". Then the girl started to help but then started bashing about Cartier and Tiffany - how most guys thinks with the brand name means better diamonds but Montecristo has better diamond. Quite frankly, I think trashing other stores is unprofessional. I don't recall the girl name other than she has a cell phone case that says "Mr. Right". I am not sure if all the service at Montecristo is like this. In the past - a few years ago, I got pearl earrings there and the service was excellent. As such, I can't gave this a 1 star rating, but the recent experience was quite uncomfortable so I am giving it two stars. In the end, my friend went back to Cartier.

First of all, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable in the brands and products they carry. The have a huge selection of pre-owned luxury items - probably the most I have seen in Metro Vancouver. Their items are priced fairly considering they are used but all in very good, excellent or like new condition. What is different about this store is, they do not do consignment which is great because they give you cash up front. This gives me more confidence to buy or sell here because I have been to consignment stores where I saw fake Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags. When I inquired about the fake bags at other consignment stores, the owners at the consignment stores clearly don't know how to tell what is real or fake. This is because their business model is to rent space out for people to sell their items and they get a cut from it. They don't care if the item is fake or not as long as it sells. However, if a business buys your item up front, they own the item. They are responsible for the item being fake or not. Knowing they do not want their reputation ruined, they are very careful in authenticating bags and guarantees every bag put out is authentic. This is why Modaselle has been my go to pre-owned luxury item store in Metro Vancouver.

Glad to have found this place. They have an impressive stock of pre-loved designer goods. The main…read morelady who I've mostly dealt with is always welcoming and accommodating. It's great that they guarantee the authenticity of the items so you don't have to worry about imitation pieces.
