We viewed the top-floor unit, preferred it, put down a 25% deposit, and applied. A couple of days later, we were told there was a "miscommunication" and the top-floor unit was actually not available. We transferred our application back to the lower unit we had first viewed, were approved, and agreed to their offered lease terms. However, our agent accidentally hit "reply all" on an email thread with five representatives, sending an internal message stating: "I didn't tell him yet that 4L is no longer available. I'm going to try and push him into 3L." It was clear they were planning to redirect us to an even less desirable apartment after leading us to believe our deal was finalized. On top of this, their StreetEasy listings are impossible to match to real-life apartments because the listed unit numbers do not match physical apartment numbers, and generic photos are used across multiple listings. Qualified, serious applicants deserve transparency. Avoid this brokerage.
